Abstract

Tourism management and development have not been carried out optimally; the community is still positioned as an object, tends to be passive, and lacks a sufficient level of awareness. This study aims to examine and analyze community participation in the development of Coban Glotak ecotourism in Dalisodo Village, Malang Regency. This research was conducted from May to June 2023 using a descriptive qualitative method. The study involved five informants selected purposively, namely the Village Head, Village Secretary, Head of Development Affairs, a community member, and a tourism caretaker. Data were collected through interviews, observation, and documentation, and analyzed using an interactive model consisting of data collection, condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing. The analysis refers to the participation theory of Cohen and Uphoff, which includes participation in decision making, implementation, benefit utilization, and evaluation. Data validity was ensured through technical triangulation. The results indicate that community participation remains partial, limited to consultation in decision making and labor contribution in implementation. The community has not gained significant economic benefits, and participation in evaluation remains low. This study is limited to a single location and a qualitative approach; therefore, the findings cannot be widely generalized.

Abstract

Tourism is a strategic sector in national and regional economic development as it can create employment opportunities, increase community income, and promote the preservation of local culture. One effective approach in tourism development is through local community empowerment, as implemented in the concept of Community Based Tourism (CBT). This research examines the role of Tourism Awareness Groups (POKDARWIS) in community empowerment efforts in Peneleh Tourism Village, Surabaya City. Peneleh Tourism Village has high historical and cultural potential, such as the house of national figure H.O.S Tjokrominoto, Dutch cemetery, and traces of settlements since the 13th century. The Surabaya City Government through the Department of Culture, Youth, and Sports as well as Surabaya City Tourism has established and empowered POKDARWIS as the main driver in managing tourism potential based on community participation. This research uses a descriptive-qualitative approach with literature study and field observation methods. The study results show that POKDARWIS plays an active role in tour guide training, local product development, and digital promotion. Therefore, recommendations are focused on strengthening synergy between POKDARWIS, government, and other stakeholders to realize the sustainability of Peneleh Tourism Village as a leading community-based destination.

Abstract

This study is designed to examine the effects of product taste and pricing on word of mouth (WOM) within the healthy beverage sector. A quantitative method was applied, utilizing Partial Least Squares–Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) as the analytical technique. The data were obtained from a sample of l00 respondents. The findings indicate that both taste and price have a significant impact on WOM, with taste demonstrating a more substantial influence. The analysis using the Partial Least Squares approach involves evaluating the structural model, testing construct validity, and ensuring the reliability of the measurement model. The results further reveal that higher price perceptions can enhance consumer appreciation and increase the likelihood of sharing experiences. Additionally, when consumers perceive the taste as satisfying and the price as commensurate with product quality, they are more inclined to recommend the product to others. These findings highlight that superior taste and appropriate pricing play a crucial role in strengthening customer loyalty and encouraging positive WOM in the healthy beverage industry.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the importance of ensuring that the implementation of social assistance programs not only produces economic benefits, but also creates public value that is felt fairly by the community. However, in its implementation, the Family Hope Program (PKH) still faces challenges related to the accuracy of targets and the perception of justice. Therefore, this study aims to analyze public value in the implementation of PKH in Joyoboyo Village, Sawunggaling Village, Surabaya City. This study uses a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. Data was collected through in-depth interviews with PKH coordinators, Ministry of Social Affairs surveyors, regional apparatus, PKH recipients and non-recipients, and supported by documentation. Data analysis was carried out using the Miles and Huberman model which includes data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawn. The results of the study show that PKH in Joyoboyo Village has created public value through improving community welfare, especially in meeting basic needs, access to education, and health services, as well as encouraging behavior change for the better. The legitimacy of the program is strong because it is supported by clear regulations and public trust in DTSN-based mechanisms, while operational capacity is also adequate through companion competencies, effective coordination, and responsive services. However, the resulting public value is still partial due to the problem of accuracy of the target and the perception of injustice. This research contributes to enriching the study of public value by showing that the success of social assistance programs is not only determined by the benefits generated, but also by the accuracy of the data, social legitimacy, and integrated operational capacity. The implications of this research emphasize the importance of continuous data updating, increasing transparency, and strengthening public participation to realize more inclusive and sustainable public value.

Abstract

responsiveness on public satisfaction with the digital complaint channel of Bank Sumsel Babel from an e-government perspective. A quantitative approach was employed using an explanatory survey method. Data were collected from 104 respondents who had previously utilized the bank’s digital complaint channel and were analyzed through multiple linear regression using SPSS version 30. The findings reveal that information quality has a positive and significant effect on public satisfaction (t = 21.126; Sig. < 0.001). Similarly, service responsiveness also demonstrates a positive and significant influence on public satisfaction (t = 23.549; Sig. < 0.001). Simultaneously, both variables significantly affect public satisfaction (F = 390.889; Sig. < 0.001). The coefficient of determination (R Square) of 0.886 indicates that 88.6% of the variance in public satisfaction can be explained by information quality and service responsiveness, while the remaining 11.4% is attributed to other variables beyond the scope of this study. These findings underscore the importance of enhancing information quality and service responsiveness to support the effectiveness of e-government implementation and improve public satisfaction with digital complaint services

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the impact of digital marketing adoption and regional economic growth on the sales performance of MSMEs in Surabaya. Amidst the trend of digitalization and the post-pandemic economic recovery, business actors are required to be adaptive in utilizing technology to maintain sales volume stability. This quantitative research involved 67 MSME respondents in Surabaya, selected through a purposive sampling technique. Primary data were collected using a structured questionnaire and subsequently processed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) via SmartPLS 4 software. The results indicate that, simultaneously, digital marketing strategies and macroeconomic conditions have a positive and significant influence on sales volume, with a variable contribution of 57.7% (R-Square 0.577). Individually, the use of e-commerce platforms was found to be the most dominant factor. These findings suggest that the acceleration of local economic growth, coupled with the digital proficiency of business actors, serves as the primary driver for increasing revenue in the MSME sector.

Abstract

Traditional markets play an important role in supporting urban economic activities, particularly as fa-cilities for meeting daily needs and strengthening local economies. Despite the rapid growth of modern markets, traditional markets continue to exist and remain an integral part of urban economic dynam- ics. This study aimed to analyze the spatial distribution pattern of traditional markets in East Jakarta City to assess the equity of economic activities. The research employed a spatial analysis approach based on Geographic Information Systems (GIS) using the Nearest Neighbour Analysis (NNA) method. Data on traditional market locations were obtained from the Indonesian Ministry of Trade’s Satu Data Perdagangan and Google Maps, then processed using ArcGIS 10.8 software. The results showed that there were 72 traditional markets distributed across all districts in East Jakarta; however, the distribu-tion was uneven. The Nearest Neighbor Ratio (NNR) value of 0.785, with a z-score of 3.486 and a p-value of 0.000049, indicated a statistically significant clustered distribution pattern. This clustering was influenced by population density, accessibility, and historical development factors. The findings of this study provide valuable insights for regional planning and policy evaluation related to the arrange-ment of traditional markets to achieve a more equitable and efficient distribution.

Abstract

The rapid expansion of digital technologies, particularly short-form video platforms, has fundamentally reshaped adolescents’ cognitive and behavioral landscapes. Continuous exposure to high-frequency, instant-reward stimuli has been associated with fragmented attention, diminished tolerance for cognitively demanding tasks, and weakened executive control. While existing interventions such as digital literacy programs, screen-time restrictions, and individual digital detox initiatives—have sought to mitigate these challenges, they often emphasize behavioral awareness without systematically incorporating principles of neuroplasticity and dopaminergic reward regulation. This article introduces the NDR-21 (Neuroplastic Dopamine Reset) model, a structured 21-day school-based intervention designed to recalibrate the reward system and enhance sustained attention among students aged 12–18 years. Drawing upon interdisciplinary insights from developmental neuroscience, educational psychology, and behavioral science, the model is organized into three progressive phases: stimulus stabilization (Days 1–7), cognitive endurance (Days 8–14), and consolidation and evaluation (Days 15–21). The article outlines the theoretical foundations of the intervention, its operational design, and a proposed quasi-experimental framework for empirical validation. Anticipated outcomes include an increase in distraction-free focus duration, a reduction in executive interference as measured by the Stroop Color–Word Test, and a decrease in daily screen time. By translating neuroscientific evidence into a feasible educational protocol, the NDR-21 model offers a preventive and scalable strategy to strengthen adolescents’ cognitive resilience and support the development of human capital in the context of Indonesia’s demographic transition. The study contributes to the growing discourse on the integration of neuroscience-informed approaches within educational policy and practice, emphasizing the importance of systemic, evidence-based interventions in addressing the neurobehavioral consequences of digital overstimulation.
