Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of Christian education in shaping the character of youth in the digital era. The background of this research stems from the observation that young people tend to dislike being regulated, prefer to follow their own desires, distance themselves from community, and spend significant time interacting in the virtual world, which they consider a trendy culture. The primary focus of this study is to understand how Christian education can adapt to contemporary challenges and fulfill the church's calling to be the light and salt of the world. This research will address questions regarding the understanding of Christian education in the digital age and its role in this context. Additionally, this study discusses the challenges of Christian religious education in the digital era, highlighting five roles of the church in shaping the character of youth: character formation, instilling discipline, fostering a sense of responsibility, instilling values of honesty, and nurturing a fear of God. The implementation of these strategies varies, and there is room for enhancing understanding and application, which is essential for shaping the character of the church's future generation. Latar belakang penelitian ini berakar pada fakta bahwa generasi muda cenderung tidak suka diatur, lebih memilih mengikuti keinginan sendiri, menjauh dari komunitas, dan menghabiskan waktu berinteraksi di dunia maya, yang dianggap sebagai budaya yang sedang tren. Fokus utama penelitian ini adalah untuk memahami bagaimana pendidikan Kristen dapat beradaptasi dengan tantangan zaman dan memenuhi panggilan gereja sebagai terang dan garam dunia. Penelitian ini akan menjawab pertanyaan mengenai pemahaman pendidikan Kristen di era digital serta perannya dalam konteks tersebut. Selain itu, penelitian ini membahas tantangan pendidikan agama Kristen di era digital, dengan menyoroti lima peran gereja dalam membentuk karakter generasi muda: pembentukan karakter, penanaman kedisiplinan, rasa tanggung jawab, nilai kejujuran, dan sikap takut akan Tuhan. Implementasi strategi ini bervariasi, dan terdapat ruang untuk meningkatkan pemahaman serta aplikasinya, yang sangat penting untuk membentuk karakter generasi muda gereja di masa depan.Kata Kunci: era digital; generasi muda; kristen; pendidikan; peranan

Abstract

In this highly competitive era, characterized by rapid advancements in digital technology, adolescents familiar with technology are expected to be responsible and achieve excellence. Intellectual development plays a crucial role, which is achieved through the learning process. The awareness of the need to learn must be fostered through self-motivation, especially for adolescents with strong spirituality. Religious attitudes, particularly the frequency of prayer, Bible reading, and attending church services, are key factors shaping the spirituality of Christian youth. This study focuses on the influence of Bible reading on enhancing the intelligence of adolescents at SMP Sei Glugur Medan. Using an exegetical approach to Joshua 1:8 and memory psychology, the researcher aims to explore the role of memory in retaining God’s word. The findings show that meditating on the scriptures, rather than merely reading them, significantly enhances the spirituality and memory capacity of adolescents, leading to intellectual development. These findings are expected to enrich teaching methods. Intelektual berperan penting dalam hal ini, yang didapatkan melalui proses belajar. Kesadaran untuk belajar perlu dibangun dengan motivasi diri, terutama bagi remaja yang memiliki spiritualitas tinggi. Sikap religius, khususnya frekuensi berdoa, membaca Alkitab, dan beribadah di gereja, menjadi faktor utama pembentuk spiritualitas remaja Kristen. Penelitian ini fokus pada pengaruh membaca Alkitab dalam meningkatkan kecerdasan remaja di SMP Sei Glugur Medan. Dengan pendekatan eksegesis teks Yosua 1:8 dan psikologi memori, peneliti ingin melihat peran memori dalam mengingat firman Tuhan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa merenungkan firman, selain membacanya, meningkatkan spiritualitas remaja dan kemampuan memorinya, yang berdampak pada perkembangan intelektual. Abstract

True Christians build their faith on personal decisions born from spiritual experiences, particularly their belief in Jesus Christ. However, some individuals may join with impure motives, like yeast hidden in dough, which can negatively influence the community. This group includes deceivers, false prophets, and hypocrites who disguise themselves as fellow believers but are, in fact, hidden enemies. In Matthew 16:5-12, Jesus warns His disciples to be vigilant against the "yeast" representing the teachings of the Pharisees and Sadducees. This study employs a qualitative approach and literature review to explore strategies for being vigilant against such symbolic "yeast." It offers concrete guidelines on how to protect Christian communities from harmful elements. The analysis outlines vigilance strategies based on biblical principles, helping Christians uphold the quality of their faith and bear the fruits of righteousness. By His grace, true Christians are expected to be effective witnesses for Christ and overcome deceptive efforts in the end times. Namun, ada individu yang bergabung dengan motif tidak murni, seperti ragi yang tersembunyi dalam tepung, yang dapat merusak komunitas. Kelompok ini termasuk penyesat, nabi palsu, dan munafik yang menyamar sebagai saudara seiman tetapi sebenarnya adalah musuh terselubung. Dalam Matius 16:5-12, Tuhan Yesus mengingatkan murid-murid-Nya untuk waspada terhadap "ragi" yang melambangkan ajaran orang Farisi dan Saduki. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dan studi pustaka untuk mengeksplorasi strategi kewaspadaan terhadap ancaman "ragi" simbolis tersebut. Tulisan ini memberikan panduan konkret tentang bagaimana menjaga komunitas Kristen dari elemen perusak. Analisis ini menawarkan strategi kewaspadaan berdasarkan prinsip Alkitab, membantu orang Kristen menjaga kualitas iman dan menghasilkan buah kebenaran. Abstract

The year 451 became an important event in the history of the church when it formulated a creed through a council aimed at responding to the teachings of Eutyches, which eventually became a firm hold as the formulation of the correct teaching on Christology in the church. This age also has the same challenge with the birth of Christology teachings that are different from the Bible such as the Judahite witness and other unsubstantiated teachings in social media. That is why this paper is important because it aims to provide a contribution of knowledge for the PAK of this age, which provides a concept of Christology as a foundation for the correct teaching of Christology. This research uses a qualitative method with a descriptive approach, where the author uses various sources of existing literature to obtain comprehensive study results. The main statement of the Council of Chalcedon was to affirm the doctrine known as “Chalcedonian Christology”, which states that Jesus is truly God and truly man, and both natures are present in Him simultaneously. Eventually, a concept of Christology emerged in which Christ is “recognized in two unmixed, unchanging, undivided, inseparable natures. Zaman ini pun juga memiliki tantangan yang sama dengan lahirnya ajaran Kristologi yang berbeda dengan Alkitab seperti saksi Yehuda dan pengajaran lainnya yang tidak berdasar di dalam sosial media. Itu sebabnya tulisan ini menjadi penting karena bertujuan untuk memberikan suatu sumbangan ilmu bagi PAK zaman ini, yang memberikan suatu konsep kristologi sebagai pondasi pengajaran yang benar tentang Kristologi. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif, dimana penulis menggunakan berbagai sumber litertur yang ada untuk mendapatkan hasil kajian yang komprehensif. Pernyataan utama dari Konsili Kalsedon adalah menegaskan doktrin yang dikenal sebagai “Kristologi Kalsedon”, yang menyatakan bahwa Yesus adalah benar-benar Allah dan benar-benar manusia, dan kedua natur tersebut hadir dalam diri-Nya secara bersamaan. Abstract

Some teachers face difficulties in managing classrooms, especially when dealing with students who exhibit challenging behavior or have diverse abilities. The curriculum often changes in line with government policies, and some teachers struggle to adapt quickly, causing the material taught to not always align with the demands of the latest curriculum. This study aims to examine the pedagogical competence of teachers in improving the quality of education within the framework of Merdeka Belajar at SMPN 6 Nekamese. The method used is qualitative research at SMP Negeri 6 Nekamese, Kupang Regency, with the main informants being teachers who actively implement the Merdeka Belajar concept. The "Merdeka Belajar" concept, introduced by the Indonesian government in 2020, aims to transform the educational paradigm by providing students with greater freedom in choosing their learning and emphasizing the development of skills relevant to the real world. This study shows that good pedagogical competence significantly contributes to improving education quality by creating an inclusive and responsive learning environment. Recommendations for further research include examining the development of pedagogical competence in the aspect of technological mastery. Kurikulum sering berubah seiring kebijakan pemerintah, dan beberapa guru kesulitan menyesuaikan diri dengan cepat, sehingga materi yang diajarkan tidak selalu selaras dengan tuntutan kurikulum terbaru. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengkaji kompetensi pedagogik guru dalam meningkatkan mutu pendidikan dalam kerangka Merdeka Belajar di SMPN 6 Nekamese. Metode yang digunakan adalah penelitian kualitatif di SMP Negeri 6 Nekamese, Kabupaten Kupang, dengan informan utama para guru yang aktif menerapkan konsep Merdeka Belajar. Konsep "Merdeka Belajar," yang diperkenalkan pemerintah Indonesia pada tahun 2020, bertujuan untuk mengubah paradigma pendidikan dengan memberikan kebebasan lebih kepada siswa dalam memilih pembelajaran, serta menekankan pengembangan keterampilan yang relevan dengan dunia nyata. Kajian ini menunjukkan bahwa kompetensi pedagogik yang baik berkontribusi signifikan terhadap peningkatan mutu pendidikan dengan menciptakan lingkungan belajar yang inklusif dan responsif. Rekomendasi untuk penelitian lanjutan adalah mengkaji pengembangan kompetensi pedagogik dalam aspek penguasaan teknologi.Kata kunci: kompetensi pedagogik; merdeka belajar; mutu pendidikan; penguasaan teknologi
