Abstract

Online marketing cannot be underestimated in the creative industries. It can be a powerful strategy to introduce and popularize the offered product or service. Moreover, such a strategy can be learned and done easily with the suitable knowledge. However, only as small number of creative industries in Sukoharjo Regency has applied this marketing strategy. The actors in creative industries still use simple methods, such as verbal marketing, direct selling to the market and direct order from customers who come to the production site. Such methods make the products and services are only used by people around Sukoharjo. Limitations of the marketing area result in lessoptimal revenue. To solve some problems in the creative industries in Sukoharjo, the trainings on how to expand the marketing area through Internet or online, and the trainings of online advertising in the form of videographyare required. Videography will provide the information about the offered products or services for the customer or prospect customers. The training was conducted in one of the creative industrial centre in Sukoharjo. As an attempt to expand marketing, videography as an online marketing advertisement is expected to help the actors of creative industries in introducing their products/services to the public and increasing public’s interest to use the products/services that can ultimately increase revenue.

Abstract

Cardiorespiratory endurance is one of the main aspects required in sports. Cardiorespiratory endurance is influenced by the function of cardiorespiratory system and body oxygenation system. Improving body oxygenation system is just as important as improving cardiorespiratory system to achieve a higher cardiorespiratory endurance. Performing a strenuous activity requires more oxygen to produce the energy. Ironically, our body adapts to a strenuous activity by increasing number of ventilation rate (hyperventilation), which leads to a decreased efficiency of body oxygenation process. Hyper-ventilation reduces carbon dioxide levels by exhaling more carbon dioxide instead of producing it. The carbon dioxide has a main role in maintaining acid-base balance. Altered pH balance causes less oxygen to be released into the tissues. Buteyko Breathing Technique is one of many breathing exercises aimed at improving body oxygenation system. It focuses on decreasing number of ventilation rate and increasing carbon dioxide levels to optimize body oxygenation process. The purpose of this research was to determine the effects of Buteyko Breathing Technique in improving cardiorespiratory endurance. 22 males aged 15-17 were involved to fulfill the objective of the study. This research used parametric test to analyze the data and to observe significant differences in VO2 max improvement between the two groups.

Abstract

Code-mixing has become a phenomenon of language. Recently, there has been a growing interest among high school students to use English words in daily Indonesian language conversation. Furthermore, they do not only use it to communicate verbally but also in written texts. The purpose of this study was to reveal the social factors influencing the high school students in Surabaya to use code-mixing in their Facebook status. The results of this study showed that code-mixing in Facebook status is caused by several social factors. The first factor was the participants in the conversation on Facebook, including the distance of relationship between the speaker and the addressee, the age of the addressee, and the background of the addressee in the conversation. Moreover, the factor of the bilingual and multilingual usage within the society in Surabaya also supports the phenomenon of codemixing. Ultimately, the interaction using code-mixing has become a common thing within the society in Surabaya.

Abstract

Lichens are organism usually found on tree trunk and rocks. They are also very sensitive to pollutions. Meanwhile, the rapid increase in the use of motor vehicles has a huge impact on the emergence of pollution in most of environments. In fact, the increasing quantity of emission from the transportation sector, especially vehicles on the roads, has resulted high level of air pollution that influences the morphology of lichens. The aim of the research was to identify lichens growing naturally in the campus area and the natural habitat of the Sekipan forest. It was done by observing the population of lichens in two different stations. The study site was divided into two stations, namely campus area and the Sekipan forest. The research employed exploration method. The 1st station was the campus area and the 2nd station was the Sekipan forest. The parameters were the morphology and the colony of lichens. Species richness was revealed in which the diversity of lichens in Sekipan forest was higher in compared with those in the campus area. The results of the survey demonstrated the different species of lichen in campus area (Station 1) and Sekipan forest in Karanganyar, Central Java. Basically, lichens in the campus area are less in species diversity, but they have species richness in forest.

Abstract

The first five years of children’s life are a very important period of growth and development because it will determine the success of children’s growth and development in the future. One of the nutritional problems occurs in children under five is stunting. We aimed to determine the mechanism of the inadequacy of protein, magnesium and phosphorus intake to stunting in children under five. This study involved 35 stunted children and 35 nonstunted children aged 12 to 60 months. The subjects were selected by simple random sampling technique. The data of protein, magnesium and phosphorus intake was obtained through 24-hour dietary recall in four times on nonconsecutive days. Most stunted and non-stunted children under five have a higher intake of protein, magnesium and phosphorus than the Recommended Daily Allowance. Average intake of protein, magnesium and phosphorus in non-stunted children are, respectively, 78.69 points, 124.57 points, and 117.04 points, which are higher than stunted children under five. There are differences in the adequacy of protein, magnesium and phosphorus intake in the stunted and non-stunted groups (p = 0.007, p = 0.011, and p = 0.003).

Abstract

The study of social network analysis depends on the relationships of people and online community. The relationships define who they are and how they act. Personality, educational background, race, and ethnicity, all of these interact with the patterns of relationship. Thus, by observing and analyzing such patterns, people can reveal and answer many questions about society. The relationship can be visualized in many ways, e.g. online community. Fruchterman-Reingold is a standard method force-directed algorithm or spring embedders place vertices by assigning forces according to the edges connecting the vertices. Meanwhile, Wakita-Tsurumi is a clustering algorithm used for cluster detection. It uses the metric of modularity (Q) as a quality measure of division in a network, based on the idea that networks with inherent community structure deviate from random networks and that networks with high modularity have denser connections inside a community, but fewer connections between nodes of different communities. The comparison shows the ability of both techniques to recognize the community based on sociometric and its contents. Both of the graph detected the same number of vertices (363), edges (5814) and density (0.02975511).

Abstract

Lower respiratory tract infections are a serious public health problem in Indonesia. In 2007, the number of people infected with bronchitis is about 1.6 million people and the prevalence has not changed significantly since then. Several therapeutic techniques have been developed to resolve the problems related to chronic bronchitis, including relaxation therapy to decrease shortness of breath. This study was conducted on 13 patients with chronic bronchitis who were given Jacobson’s Relaxation Therapy for 25—30 minutes with frequency three times a week and performed for four weeks. The degree of shortness of breath was measured using Borg Scale before and after the treatment of Jacobson’s relaxation therapy. In average, subjects endured shortness of breath with a degree of 2.69 before treatment, and decreased to 0.77 after the treatment. Wilcoxon signed-rank test obtained p value = 0.001, which means the effect of Jacobson’s relaxation therapy on the degree of shortness of breath.
