Abstract

Internet of Things (IoT) is increasingly being implemented in major cities in the world, including in Indonesia. Currently, several cities in Indonesia have implemented smart city programs. Smart city implementation in Indonesia has not been supported by networks which are suitable for connectivity of equipment such as sensors. Sensors which are connected are still using cellular networks so they are not efficient in terms of power usage and bandwidth, where sensors only require small power and bandwidth. A network technology designed for the use of sensors is LPWA networks (Low Power Wide Area Networks) where, this network connects a large number of sensors with small power usage and narrow bandwidth. In this paper the authors try to design the LPWA network using LoRa technology for the purpose of using smart meters for electricity, water and gas in the DKI Jakarta and Tangerang areas with an approach to network performance parameters. The network parameters designed will be analyzed and adapted to the conditions of the region so that it has good network performance and capacity can meet the needs of smart meters in the region. The purpose of this paper is to produce a network design that fits the needs of smart meters which are expected to be a material consideration for operators in designing the LPWA network.

Abstract

The timeliness of financial statement publication is important because it becomes the qualitative characteristics of useful information in supporting the relevance of the information. Besides how quickly a company publishes its financial statements will tend to affect the trust of financial statement users. This research aims to find the effect of public ownership on the timeliness of financial reporting. Total samples are 39 of property and real estate companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) in a period of 2018-2020 and analyzed by Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS). This research finds that public ownership has no effect on the timeliness of financial reporting. The value of public ownership is low so that the public is not able to affect company policy, especially in the quality of a financial statements. Keywords: timeliness, public ownership, financial statements.

Abstract

Delignification and depolymerization are the great concerns in the cooking process. This research used manihot esculenta crants, eucalyptus and acacia mangium with active alkali charge of 16% to 20% and 1% variation. Active alkali charge influences degree of delignification and degree of polymerization. Every 1% AA charge increase could increase the degree of delignification in manihot esculenta crants, eucalyptus and acacia mangium of 1.15%, 0.40% and 0.85% respectively. Every 1% AA charge increase could decerase degree of polymerization in manihot esculenta crants, eucalyptus and acacia mangium of 4.14%, 3.32% and 7.04% respectively. The correlations between the degree of delignification and the degree of polymerization in the manihot esculenta crants, eucalyptus and acacia mangium were y(m) = -58,284x + 6392,8, y(e) = -119,74x + 12135 and y(a) = - 149.63x + 14716 respectively.

Abstract

Through this research, the factors that impact the poverty rate of 4 cities in North Sulawesi, which are education and unemployment rate, were analyzed out. Secondary data and panel data regression is used in this research. After the testing stage, the common effect model (CEM) was selected as the suitable model. This research also conducted a classical assumption, partial, and coefficient determination test. The results are that education negatively and significantly affects the poverty rate of 4 cities in North Sulawesi, and the unemployment rate positively and significantly affects the poverty rate of 4 cities in North Sulawesi. The provision of stimulant assistance and subsidies, more effective and targeted poverty alleviation programs, education funding assistance, skills development training programs, more jobs, support small and medium enterprises, reduction of outsourcing labor, and accepting the employee fairly without nepotism are expected to help in reducing poverty rate and solve poverty problems in 4 cities in North Sulawesi, and even more broadly. Keywords: Common Effect Model, Education, Panel Data Regression, Poverty Rate, Unemployment Rate.

This research analyzed the effect of leadership effectiveness on employee effectiveness. The object of this research is Universitas Negeri Manado as the Higher Education Institution. Research problem refers to data phenomenon in Universitas Negeri Manado. The fact presents that the staffs do not have maximum presence since they only go to work for 18 days per month (81%). The average of work contribution is only approximately 6 hours a day, but the staffs are required to attend for 8 hours a day. The problem is: how to increase the employee effectiveness. The hypothesis from this research has been formulated that there is a direct positive influence of the leadership effectiveness on the effectiveness of the employees. The sample method is proportional random sampling technique. The research includes 102 respondents who are the employees of Universitas Negeri Manado. The data were analyzed by using simple linier regression. The result indicates that the leadership effectiveness has given the positive direct effect on employees effectiveness. Keywords: Leadership Effectiveness and Work Effectiveness.

Abstract

Basic fundamentals of economic development starting from the distribution of road infrastructure, clean water, electricity and telecommunications networks have an effect on economic growth in West Halmahera Regency. Does the distribution of infrastructure affect Economic Inequality in West Halmahera Regency. Another cause is the geographical condition of the districts in North Maluku, which are separated from islands. This requires a large amount of time and budget so that districts / cities can carry out road infrastructure development more optimally. the level of income inequality in districts in West Halmahera Regency in 2017 was 1.055. Based on the criteria that have been determined in the Williamson index analysis, it can be said that the inequality in West Halmahera Regency, Jailolo District in 2017 is relatively small. It can be seen in the table above that from 2017, the value of inequality has not changed, namely 1.055 is still relatively small.

Abstract

Corporate governance is still an important issue today because poor governance can be the cause of business failure. Therefore, good governance is needed to maintain business sustainability. This study aims to examine and analyze the effect of corporate governance, namely the board of commissioners, audit committee and risk monitoring committee on the company's current and long-term performance. In addition, corporate secretary is added as a variable that moderates the influence of the board of commissioners on firm performance. The object of research are financial firms listed on the BEI in 2017-2020. This study found that a qualified corporate secretary can positively moderate the proportion of independent commissioners on the company's current and long-term performance. Audit committee qualifications have a significant positive effect on current and long-term performance. The meeting of the risk monitoring committee has no effect on the firm's performance for the current year but has a significant positive effect on the firm's long-term performance. Considering these results, this study suggests that companies should implement good governance today because it has an impact on firm performance in the future.
