Abstract

The purpose of this study is to examine how work-life balance influences employee productivity in micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) engaged in the rattan weaving industry in Palangka Raya City, with workplace creativity serving as a mediating variable. This research is motivated by the importance of work-life balance in supporting employee creativity and productivity within the creative MSME sector. Questionnaires were distributed to 39 respondents working in five MSMEs operating in the rattan weaving industry in Palangka Raya City to collect data using a quantitative research approach. With the assistance of SmartPLS software, the SEM-PLS method was employed to analyze the data. The findings indicate that work-life balance has a positive and significant effect on employee creativity and productivity. In addition, workplace creativity also has a positive and significant effect on work productivity. However, workplace creativity does not act as a mediating variable in the relationship between work-life balance and work productivity. These findings demonstrate that work-life balance plays a significant role in improving employee productivity in the rattan weaving craft industry in Palangka Raya City.

However, there are obstacles in the form of the application of ta'awun values that are still limited to technical functions and the uneven distribution of benefits that violate the principle of distributive justice ( 'adl ). Overall, the sustainability of this ecotourism requires restructuring of ticket and parking management through the formalization of mudharabah or syirkah inan contracts , as well as optimizing the role of the village government as ulil amri to realize holistic maslahah.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the business practices of retail fuel filling stations, commonly known as "Pom Mini," in Nae Village, Bima City, from the perspective of Sharia Economic Law. The emergence of Pom Mini serves as a solution to the community's limited access to official gas stations; however, its operations often reside in a legal and sharia-compliance gray area. This study employs a descriptive qualitative method with a field research approach. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, direct observation of dispenser machines, and documentation. The results indicate that Pom Mini business practices in Nae Village do not fully comply with muamalah principles. The primary findings reveal elements of gharar (uncertainty) resulting from inaccurate measurements of dispenser machines that lack periodic calibration. Furthermore, operational safety aspects fail to meet Maqashid Sharia standards concerning the protection of life (hifz al-nafs). Although the pricing is socially accepted under the principle of mutual consent (an-taradhin) and custom (al-’urf), a transformation through business legality and technical standardization is required to ensure blessings (barakah) and public benefit (maslahah).

Abstract

This study aims to examine the relationship between government policy and MSME welfare by incorporating business development as a mediating variable. Although various interventions have been implemented, their effectiveness in enhancing welfare through strengthening business capacity remains unclear. This research employs a quantitative approach using primary data collected from MSME actors in Bondowoso Regency, Indonesia, who received government assistance during 2022–2024. Data were analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) to test direct and indirect relationships among variables. The results indicate that government policy has a direct effect on MSME welfare, and business development also plays an important role in improving welfare. However, government policy does not significantly influence business development, resulting in no significant mediating effect. These findings suggest that policy interventions tend to provide direct benefits rather than strengthening long-term business capacity.

Abstract

Natuna Regency is a resource-rich island border region, but its economy is concentrated in the weakening extractive sector. This study explains the persistence of this sector's dominance by integrating sectoral structure analysis and policy analysis into the Circular and Cumulative Causation (CCC) framework. The study uses an explanatory case study approach based on secondary data, with Location Quotient, Shift-Share, and Klassen Typology analysis for the 2015–2024 GRDP structure; content analysis of Presidential Regulation 41/2022 and Natuna Regent Regulation 16/2024; and analysis of fiscal data (Oil and Gas Revenue Sharing Funds and expenditure allocations) for the 2020–2024 period as an empirical bridge. The results show that the Mining and Quarrying sector contributed an average of 71.90% of GRDP but grew negatively (CAGR -1.02%), while the Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries sector was the only diversification candidate that consistently strengthened. Formal policy commitments to fisheries are categorized as symbolic because they are not accompanied by fiscal reallocation: the proportion of Fisheries Service spending is only 0.81–1.34% and its gap with the weight of GRDP actually widened after the policy was enacted. Fiscal dependence on Oil and Gas DBH, which consistently exceeds PAD (a ratio of 171–352%), indicates a vicious cycle mechanism with dominant backwash effects. The study recommends earmarking Oil and Gas DBH for diversification, operational translation of national mandates, and optimization of PAD as an integrated intervention package
