Abstract

This study is motivated by the limited research on the application of literacy methods in the teaching of Islamic Cultural History (Sejarah Kebudayaan Islam or SKI), despite its significant potential to enhance the quality of instruction at the madrasah level. The aim of this research is to explore the application of literacy methods in improving the quality of SKI instruction at MA Darul Faizin Catak Gayam Jombang. A qualitative approach with a case study design was used, with a single madrasah selected as the research subject through purposive sampling. Data were collected through observation, interviews with teachers and students, and analysis of instructional documents, and were analyzed using data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing techniques. The findings indicate that the application of literacy methods has a positive impact on improving the quality of SKI learning. Institutional support, teacher creativity in developing text-based teaching materials, and student enthusiasm for reading activities were key factors supporting the success of this implementation. These findings reinforce the theory that literacy-based approaches can enhance comprehension, critical thinking skills, and student learning interest. The main conclusion of this study is the importance of integrating literacy methods into SKI instruction to promote a reading culture and strengthen students’ reasoning abilities. The implications of this study include theoretical contributions to the development of literacy-based instructional models and practical recommendations for teachers to design systematic and contextual literacy-based learning strategies. This research also opens opportunities for further studies on the impact of literacy methods on learning outcomes in other subjects.

Abstract

This study is motivated by the limited research on the use of resistance bands in futsal training, particularly concerning shooting accuracy among female high school players, despite the critical importance of mastering accurate shooting techniques to support team performance. The aim of this study is to measure the effect of resistance band training on the shooting accuracy of female futsal extracurricular players at SMAN 1 Mayong, Jepara Regency. A quantitative method with an experimental approach was used, employing a one-group pretest-posttest design. The sample consisted of 16 female futsal extracurricular members selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected through shooting skill tests conducted before and after the treatment, using an instrument that assessed accuracy scores from four shots. Data analysis was performed using the paired sample t-test with the help of SPSS software. The results show a significant increase in shooting accuracy scores following resistance band training, indicating a positive effect on shot precision. These findings support the theory that resistance training is an effective method for improving lower limb strength and movement precision. The main conclusion of this study is that the use of resistance bands in futsal training programs can significantly enhance shooting accuracy among female players. The implications of this research include theoretical contributions to the literature on physical training in futsal, as well as practical recommendations for coaches and physical education teachers in designing more effective training methods to improve shooting technique performance. This study also opens opportunities for further research on resistance band training variations for other futsal skills.

Abstract

This study is motivated by the importance of physical fitness in supporting the daily duties of Indonesian National Army (TNI) soldiers, who routinely engage in physical training before carrying out operational tasks. The purpose of this research is to analyze the relationship between soldiers’ physical readiness and the effectiveness of task execution within the TNI units in the Lubuk Pakam area. A qualitative approach was used, with data collected through in-depth interviews, field observations, and documentation studies. The research explores soldiers’ perceptions and experiences regarding the impact of physical fitness on the success of military duties. The results indicate that physical readiness significantly affects not only endurance and agility but also morale, discipline, and adaptability in facing dynamic operational situations. Factors such as motivation, stress management, use of supportive technology, and consistency in physical training further strengthen the link between fitness and task effectiveness. The success of task execution related to physical readiness is reflected in six key indicators: rapid response in emergencies, success in field missions, endurance in challenging terrain, minimal injury during operations, mental resilience and high discipline, and team solidarity in completing tasks. The conclusion of this study affirms that physical fitness development is a strategic component that is inseparable from efforts to enhance the effectiveness of military task execution within TNI units.

Abstract

This study is motivated by the limited research on improving healthy eating habits among university students through behavior modification approaches, despite the significant impact of diet on physical and mental health, particularly for final-year students. The aim of this research is to evaluate the effectiveness of a healthy eating education intervention based on the token economy system in improving students’ understanding and behavior regarding healthy eating. A quantitative method with a one-group pretest-posttest experimental design was used. The sample consisted of four final-year students selected through simple random sampling. Data were collected using a questionnaire developed based on the "Isi Piringku" guidelines from the Ministry of Health (2024) and an adapted instrument from previous studies. Data analysis was conducted using simple descriptive quantitative techniques. The results showed an increase in scores for both knowledge and healthy eating behavior after the intervention, indicating a positive impact of the education and token-based reinforcement on behavior change. These findings support Skinner’s theory of positive reinforcement, which emphasizes the role of consequences in shaping behavior. The main conclusion of this study is that the token economy approach is effective in fostering habits and discipline among students in adopting healthy eating patterns. The implications of this study contribute to the literature on behavioral interventions in health promotion and provide recommendations for educational institutions to develop similar programs to encourage healthy lifestyles among students. This research also opens opportunities for further studies to evaluate the long-term effectiveness of reinforcement-based interventions in the context of lifestyle changes. Abstract

This study is motivated by teaching practices that tend to be monotonous and lack variation in classroom management, which negatively affect student motivation and learning outcomes, particularly in the subject of Islamic Religious and Character Education (PAI and BP). The aim of this research is to describe the implementation of Project Based Learning (PjBL) within the Merdeka Curriculum, analyze the learning outcomes achieved, and examine the influence of the PjBL model on the learning outcomes of sixth-grade students at SDN 02 Pariangan. The research method used was quantitative with a correlational approach, involving a sample of 29 students. The results of simple linear regression analysis show a positive and significant relationship between pre-test and post-test scores (R = 0.807; significance = 0.000). The coefficient of determination (R²) was 0.651, indicating that 65.1% of the variation in students’ post-PjBL learning outcomes was influenced by their initial condition. In addition, the paired samples t-test showed a significant difference between pre-test and post-test scores (mean difference = -3.966; significance = 0.000), with a significant increase in post-test scores. These findings demonstrate that the implementation of PjBL within the Merdeka Curriculum has a positive impact on improving students’ learning outcomes in PAI and BP. The conclusion of this study is that PjBL is effective in enhancing learning achievement, encouraging active engagement, and fostering deeper understanding of the subject matter. The implications of this study suggest the need to adopt contextual and collaborative learning models such as PjBL in PAI and BP instruction at the elementary school level.

Abstract

The development of information technology has had a significant impact on the learning process, including in the subject of Islamic Religious Education (PAI). However, low student interest in learning at SMA Negeri 1 Luhak Nan Duo remains a major challenge in optimizing PAI instruction. This study aims to analyze the implementation of Padlet media in efforts to increase student interest in PAI. The method used is qualitative research with a descriptive approach. Data were collected through interviews, observation, and documentation involving PAI teachers and tenth-grade students in Phase E4. The results show that the use of Padlet media positively influences students' learning interest, as evidenced by increased active participation, attention, and engagement during lessons. Students showed greater enthusiasm and felt more motivated to follow the lessons when Padlet was used as a learning medium. The conclusion of this study is that the use of Padlet media is effective in increasing students’ interest in learning PAI. The implications of this study suggest that integrating technology into learning not only enriches teaching methods but also helps create a more interactive and enjoyable learning environment. Therefore, digital media such as Padlet can be recommended as an alternative in the learning process at schools, especially in supporting students’ interest in learning.

Abstract

The 2013 Curriculum emphasizes the importance of active student engagement in the learning process, requiring the implementation of instructional models that promote participation and independent problem-solving. One such relevant model is Problem Based Learning (PBL). This study is a meta-analysis aimed at examining the validity and practicality levels of PBL-based Student Worksheets (LKPD) as a medium for biology instruction. Data were collected from 10 articles published between 2021 and 2024 in various reputable journals. Data collection was conducted through document review, and analysis was carried out using an average percentage formula. The results show that PBL-based LKPD has a validity level of 93.10% and a practicality level of 92.20%, both of which fall into the very valid and very practical categories. These findings indicate that PBL-based LKPD can serve as an effective and engaging learning medium, supporting students’ competency achievement. The conclusion of this study is that PBL-based LKPD is suitable for use in biology instruction in alignment with the demands of the 2013 Curriculum. The implications of this research include reinforcing the literature on problem-based learning media and offering practical recommendations for educators and instructional material developers. This study also opens opportunities for further research to evaluate the effectiveness of PBL-based LKPD implementation in broader educational contexts and across different subjects.

Abstract

Suboptimal management can hinder the achievement of the goals of the Pancasila Student Profile Strengthening Project (P5), thereby limiting the full development of Pancasila student character. This study aims to evaluate the management functions of planning, organizing, actuating, and controlling (POAK) in the implementation of P5 with the themes of Entrepreneurship, Develop the Body and Soul, and Local Wisdom at SMP Negeri 1 Padang. The research method used is descriptive qualitative, with research subjects including the principal, vice principal of curriculum, P5 coordinator, parents, and students. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, and analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model, which involves data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results show that the management of P5 has not yet reached optimal performance. Planning is insufficiently developed, implementation strategies lack structure, monitoring is weak, and reflection is not yet constructive. The conclusion of this study is that the management of P5 at SMP Negeri 1 Padang falls into the category of immature management, where the POAK concepts are understood and designed but their implementation is not yet effective. The implications of this research highlight the need for strengthening the planning, coordination, execution, and evaluation of P5 to ensure that the program is implemented more effectively and produces Pancasila student profiles aligned with the expectations of the Merdeka Curriculum.

Abstract

This study examines the collective memory of the Manggopoh community regarding the 1908 Manggopoh War in Agam Regency, West Sumatra, with a focus on the local heroine Siti Manggopoh. The background of this research lies in the declining awareness among younger generations about local history and the figure of Mandeh Siti as a key leader in the resistance against Dutch colonialism. The aim of this study is to explore how the Manggopoh community constructs and maintains collective memory of Siti Manggopoh across generations. A historical approach was employed, involving four main stages: data collection, source criticism, interpretation, and historical writing. The findings reveal a generational difference in how Mandeh Siti is remembered. Older generations hold a strong and emotional memory rooted in oral traditions passed down within families and communities. In contrast, younger generations primarily learn about Mandeh Siti through school lessons and ceremonial activities, with less emotional attachment. These findings suggest that collective memory of local historical figures tends to shift over time and is influenced by the mediums through which information is conveyed. The conclusion of this study is that preserving collective memory requires intergenerational and contextual approaches, including the revitalization of oral traditions and the meaningful integration of local history into educational curricula.

Abstract

This study is motivated by the importance of learning media in supporting the effectiveness of Islamic Religious and Character Education instruction, particularly for eleventh-grade students in Phase F at SMA Negeri 7 Sarolangun. The main issue identified is the suboptimal use of instructional media, which has led to low student learning outcomes. The purpose of this study is to determine the differences in learning outcomes between the experimental class using Wordwall-based learning media and the control class that did not use this media. The method employed is quantitative with a quasi-experimental design. The research population consists of all eleventh-grade Phase F students, totaling 303 individuals. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling, with two classes selected as samples: class XI FC1 as the experimental group using Wordwall and class XI FE1 as the control group without the use of such media, each comprising 32 students. The results show an improvement in learning outcomes in the experimental group using Wordwall compared to the control group. The conclusion of this study is that the use of Wordwall-based learning media is proven effective in enhancing student learning outcomes in Islamic Religious and Character Education. The implications of this study highlight the need for integrating interactive digital media into the learning process to create a more engaging classroom environment and facilitate a more comprehensive understanding of the material.
