Abstract

This research departs from the phenomenon that there are students who have low emotional intelligence, in which students often utter harsh words and mock each other between one student and another so that it can be said that students have not been able to control or regulate their emotions in learning and socializing and students also not being able to build good relationships with friends around him and Shiva also doesn't know how to improve his emotional intelligence.The goal to be achieved in this study is to find out whether there is a significant difference or improvement between before and after being given problem solving techniques to improve the emotional intelligence of SMPN 4 Padang Panjang students. This research is a pre-experimental study using the One Group Pretest and Posttest Design model. The population is grade 8.2 students of SMPN 4 Padang Panjang, while the sample is 11 students who are indicated to have emotional intelligence problems based on the purposive sampling technique and the results of the pretest. The instrument that the authors use in data collection is the Likert scale. The data analysis technique used the Wilcoxon test, while the data analysis requirements used hypothesis testing with the help of SPSS version 25.The results of research that have been known from the results of the Z test (Wilcoxon) show that there is a difference between the pretest and posttest values. From the results of the Wilcoxon test calculation, a significant p-value of 0.003 was obtained. Based on the applicable regulations, it is known that the results of the Wilcoxon Sig test are p-value of 0.003 <α (α = 0.05), which means that Ha is accepted and Ho is rejected. From the results of the Wilcoxon test calculations, it can be concluded that students' emotional intelligence has increased after being given treatment using problem solving techniques.

Abstract

The background of this research is that there are parents who have various kinds of busyness, one of which is work which causes a student to pay less attention to how learning problems are experienced by children at school. and there are also parents who are reluctant to attend school invitations because the student's behavior causes students to lack interest in learning so that the learning outcomes they get are not good. This study aims to determine the effect of parental attention on student learning outcomes at SMPN 01 Koto Besar.This research belongs to the correlative quantitative research, namely to see the effect of two different variables. The population in this study were class VIII students, totaling 104 students. The research sample was 27 students who were taken using the Total Sampling technique. Data was collected using a Likert scale instrument and then processed using the Statistical Product and Service Solution (SPSS) Version 20 hypothesis test.Based on the results of the correlation analysis, it is known that if the pcount value is greater than the ptable, it can be said to be correlated. In this study the ptable was 0.381, the pcount value in this study was 0.371 greater than the ptable 0.381, so it can be said that parental attention and learning outcomes are correlated. The variable size of parents' attention to the learning outcome variable is calculated by D = r2 × 100%, a D of 32% is obtained. So it can be concluded that the influence of parental attention on student learning outcomes in SMP 1 Negeri Koto Besar is 32%, it can be said that Ha is accepted and H0 is rejected and there is a significant relationship between parental attention to student learning outcomes in SMP 1 Negeri Koto Big.

Abstract

The purpose of this study describes Cultural Arts Learning (Theater) in class XI social studies 1 SMA Pertiti 1 Padang. This type of research is qualitative research with descriptive methods. This research instrument is the researcher himself and is assisted by supporting instruments such as stationery and cameras. The data in this study used primary data and secondary data. Data collection techniques are carried out by means of literature studies, observations, interviews and documentation. The steps of analyzing data are data collection, data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions. The results showed that the learning process was in accordance with the rpp designed but the student score results were still unsatisfactory so that teachers were still remedial to meet the completeness of student scores. Students feel that learning cultural arts is monotonous only by the lecture method and working on student worksheets, so students feel varied when given media such as watching the learning videos given. The implementation of Cultural Arts (Theater) learning using learning media in class XI IPS 1 SMA Pertiwi 1 Padang greatly affects student learning so that supporting will also increase participation, interest in learning and learning outcomes of cultural arts (theater) in class XI IPS 1 even though students have not been able to display the results of modern theater dramas in accordance with established techniques. The implementation of learning can run well and students get grades according to what they do during the learning process.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is. First, describe compliance with the politeness principle in the comment column on the metrotvnews YouTube channel. Second, describe violation of the principle of politeness in language in the comment column on the metrotvnews YouTube channel. Third, describing the language context in the comment column on the metrotvnews YouTube channel. This research used qualitative with a descriptive method. The data are speech that contain compliance to politeness principles, violations of politeness principles from the comment column on the metrotvnews YouTube channel. The research instrument is the researcher himself. The data collection techniques used in this study were the simak bebas libat cakap technique, the documentation technique and the note-taking technique. Data analysis techniques are carried out by organizing data, describing it into units, synthesizing, compiling into patterns, and making conclusions. The research results show three things. First, found 59 data on compliance with the politeness principle. Second, there were 41 violations of the politeness principle. Third, the language context is polite, and impolite. It can be concluded that. First, the most dominant form of compliance politeness principle is approbation maxim. Second, the most dominant form of violation politeness is a approbation maxim. Third, the most dominant language context in the comment column on the metrotvnews YouTube channel is polite. This research can be implicated in persuasion text learning.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the use of sentences in exposition texts in terms of structural clarity, logical meaning, frugality of words and standardization of words in exposition texts by class X students of SMA Negeri 1 Nan Sabaris, Padang Pariaman Regency. This type of research is qualitative research using descriptive methods. The data to be obtained are words and sentences obtained from research data sources. The source of the data used in this study was exposition texts by class X students of SMA Negeri 1 Nan Sabaris, Padang Pariaman Regency, for the 2021/2022 academic year with a total of 30 student exposition texts. The data collection technique in this study is the fishing technique. The instrument in this study was the researcher himself and assisted by an inventory table. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that First, in terms of structural clarity consisting of clarity of active and passive structures, 47 non-standard sentences were found, 18 non-standard adverbial subjects were found, five non-standard predicates were found, non-subject adverbs were found. five non-standard sentences, and the subject is not missing found 16 non-standard sentences. Second, in terms of logical meaning, it consists of a logical relationship between the meanings of S and P found in 16 non-standard sentences and a logical relationship of detailed (parallel) meanings found in 13 non-standard sentences. Third, from the point of view of saving words consisting of using one subject from the same subject, three non-standard sentences were found, using one word from several synonymous words, 90 non-standard sentences were found, and using the words needed to express the author's intent, 125 non-standard sentences were found. . Fourth, in terms of word standardity, 32 non-standard words were found. the results obtained prove that the use of sentences in expository texts for class X students of SMA Negeri 1 Nan Sabaris Padang Pariaman Regency is still low.

Abstract

This document examines how spiritual education affects a child's communication skills through presenting an Islamic model based on Quran and prophetic tradition. First, this paper discusses spirituality from a theoretical perspective. Then, it provides a brief history of how children worldwide have been taught spirituality. Next, this presentation presents the Islamic model of spirituality that includes its moral foundations and aspects. Finally, this paper provides a conceptual analysis of spiritual education with a short history of its focus. The current paper discusses the key aspects of Islamic Model for Children’s Spiritual Education that help the children practice their communication skills with people from different religions. These findings were gathered through a descriptive-analytic process.

Abstract

This research was motivated by several problems of students at the 9th grade of SMPN 2 Rao Selatan related to students’ reading comprehension in narrative text. The problems of this research were students felt difficult to determine the main idea in narrative text. Students were low enthusiastic in learning. This research aimed to know whether there was significant effect of using cartoon film on students’ reading comprehension in narrative text. The researcher used a pre experimental research with one group pretest posttest design. The population of this research was the 9th grade students of SMPN 2 Rao Selatan consist of 2 classes, the sample was in class IX.1 which was taken by using purposive sampling technique. The data was analyzed by using liliefors test to test the normality and homogeneity data. Whereas, the hypothesis the researcher used t test, then the researcher consulted the result with the degree table (a) = 0.05. The research findings showed that the reading comprehension in narrative text of students at the 9th grade of SMPN 2 Rao Selatan had poor score in pretest which mean score 51.40. After treatment, their reading comprehension increased significantly which mean score 72.00. The result of the t-obtained =9.726 > t-table=2.093 with degree freedom (df) =19 with 0.05/2=0.025. Meanwhile, the Sig (2-tailed) was 0.000 < 0.005. So, the alternative hypothesis (Ha) was accepted that there was significant effect of using cartoon film. It was proven that using cartoon film can help to improve students’ reading comprehension in narrative text.
