Abstract

Street food is currently the prima donna among consumers due to its low price, accessibility, and wide variety of choices. Its distribution covers various places but is most often found in educational facilities, especially elementary schools. Various problems arise from this type of culinary contamination related to hygiene problems, especially Escherichia coli bacteria contamination. The purpose of this study was to identify E. coli contamination in snacks from street vendors (PKL) at the Baqa Village Elementary School, Samarinda City. This research uses a descriptive study design. The sample in this study consisted of 10 food and beverage samples taken from seven street vendors who were selected using a purposive sampling method and spread across all elementary schools in Baqa Village, Samarinda City. From the results of examining E. coli using the most probable number (MPN) method, it was found that the fried pentola sample from SDN 002 Samarinda Seberang exceeded the threshold value of 3.6 APM/gr, while the durian ice sample from SDN 007 Samarinda Seberang also exceeded the threshold value of 3.6 APM/ml. So it is necessary to increase comprehensive sanitation and hygiene practices for these street vendors.

Abstract

Traditional Balinese medicine, known as Usadha or Balian, has deep roots in Hindu beliefs and philosophy. In this context, health is seen as a balance between body, mind and spirit, which is in line with Hindu concepts such as karma, reincarnation and chakras. This study aims to explore the importance of scientific research on traditional Balinese medicines to understand their potential and benefits in modern medicine. Through a literature review, this article sheds light on the history and basic elements of Usadha, as well as the potential for integration of traditional and modern medicine. Scientific research on traditional Balinese medicines is considered important for investigating the health claims and safety of using these medicines, promoting the recognition and preservation of traditional knowledge, and supporting traditional medicine as part of cultural and health heritage. Furthermore, this study confirms the importance of further research to help preserve and develop this traditional knowledge, while integrating it with modern medicine to achieve better outcomes in health and healing.

Abstract

Nurses' empowerment in screening effectively reduces pneumonia rates, improves hydration and nutrition so as to prevent further complications. Disphagia often has not been documented by nurses, due to the focus on self-care and prevention of complications. This research is a correlational description with a cross-sectional approach. The nurses working in the Stroke Unit Room and ICU consisted of 10 men and 36 women aged the majority of 25 – 31 years with a majority tenure of 18 years. A total of 30 medical records were observed, 19 cases of SNH + comorbid patients and 8 of them were dysphagia. There was a close relationship between knowledge and screening (p value 0.004) and no significant relationship between dysphagia knowledge and screening and documentation (p value 0.217). In Indonesian Nursing, thefocus is on aspiration risk, not dysphagia. Because of the lack of identification and means of being an obstacle in further management, thenurse has never received formal education. Butknowledge can be provided in self-paced, online classes. The use and adjustment of flowsheets in documentation helps in improving the workflow of completion of stroke management nursing documentation, but it takes skills and knowledge through an ethical approach to highlight the importance of communication and documentation with a patient-centered approach. The good level ofknowledge nurses about dysphagia dysphagia screening is not necessarily related to the nurse's ability to document the presence of dysphagia
