<![CDATA[Most students who are studying English have difficulty identifying general information, specific information, and textual meaning and reference because they lack vocabulary. Therefore, an appropriate and effective teaching strategy should enable the students to improve their reading comprehension. The present study attempts to find out if the reading comprehension of the eighth-grade students of SMP Negeri 3 Ubud in the academic year 2020/2021 could be improved through KWL strategy combined with pictures. This research made use of a classroom action design by running two cycles and each cycle consisted of two sessions. running two cycles and each cycle consisted of two sessions. This research was done in two cycles and each cycle consisted of two sessions. The research administered pre-test, post-test, and questionnaire in order to collect the data before they were analyzed. The findings of the research revealed that there were significant improvements in subjects' achievement from the pre-test and post-test. From the questionnaire that was administered in the last cycle, the students gained positive responses in terms of their changing learning behavior toward the application of KWL strategy. Based on the findings of the study, the student’s reading comprehension can be improved through KWL strategy combined with the picture.]]>

<![CDATA[The present study is an ex-post facto research with correlation design was intended to figure out the significant correlation between vocabulary mastery and reading comprehension of the eighth-grade students of SMP TP 45 Denpasar in the 2021/2022. The sample of this study was 40 students which were taken with a random sampling method. The matching cloze procedure test and the short answer test were used as research instruments. Based on computations by SPSS 20 version, score of coefficient correlation, which is obtained 0.615 and this score was compared with the r-table with degree of significant 5%, Therefore, the score of coefficient correlation was very high in comparison with the score of r-table, which means that the alternative hypothesis was accepted. It was found that there was a significant correlation between vocabulary mastery and reading comprehension of the eighth-grade students of SMP TP 45 Denpasar in academic year 2021/2022.]]>

<![CDATA[The present study is an ex-post facto research with correlation design was intended to figure out the significant correlation between vocabulary mastery and reading comprehension of the eighth-grade students of SMPN 1 Blahbatuh in academic year 2021/2022. The samples of the research consisted of 60 students which were chosen by means of random sampling method with lottery system. The data were collected through administering the research instruments which were in the form of structured matching cloze procedure test and short answer test. The obtained data were statistically analyzed by using Pearson product moment correlation and t-test. The results of the data analysis clearly revealed the alternative hypothesis was accepted. In other words, the research findings confirmed that there is significant correlation between vocabulary mastery and reading comprehension of the eighth-grade students of SMPN 1 Blahbatuh in academic year 2021/2022.]]>

<![CDATA[This study aimed to determine the relationship between vocabulary mastery and reading comprehension. The sample in this study was eighth-grade students in a junior high school in Bali, consisting of 42 students who were selected using a random sampling method with a lottery system. The researcher used two tests to obtain data on vocabulary mastery and reading comprehensions, such as a vocabulary assessment test for vocabulary mastery and a short answer test for reading comprehension. The data obtained were assessed using the Product Moment formula and analysed using SPSS 26 for windows. Based on data analysis, it shows that there is a high, significant and positive relationship between vocabulary mastery and reading comprehension of eighth students in junior high school. Therefore, answering the research question, there is a substantial relationship between vocabulary mastery and reading comprehension.]]>

<![CDATA[The purpose of this study is to find out the correlation between grammar mastery and speaking ability. The subject of the study was the eighth grade students of SMP TP 45 Denpasar in academic year 2021/2022 with a total of 40 students. The design of this research is a correlation that includes quantitative research. There were two instruments to judge the students’ skills in students’ grammar mastery and students’ speaking ability. The instruments were constructed based on the criteria suggestions of the first and second advisors. There were two variables in this research, independent variable (X) and dependent variable (Y), where grammar mastery as (X) speaking ability as (Y) variable. Quantitative analysis was done using statistics which is called statistics analysis or inferential statistics on SPSS 24 Version. Based on the data analysis, it was figured out that there was a significant correlation between students’ grammar mastery and students’ speaking ability of the eighth grade students of SMP TP 45 Denpasar in academic year 2021/2022. Based on the result by using SPSS 24 Version from the table 4.5 the correlation for students’ grammar mastery and students’ speaking ability was 0.423. In addition, these two data were correlated with each other.]]>

<![CDATA[Ex post facto correlational research was used as the design of this research to find out the significant correlation between grammar mastery and writing ability of the eighth-grade students of SMPN 5 Mengwi in academic year 2021/2022. Grade eight students from SMPN 5 Mengwi were used as the population for this study and through sampling method using lottery system, 64 students were selected as samples. Data were collected by through a writing test and a paragraph construction test. Pre-requisite analysis and hypothesis testing were performed to analysed the data obtained. The data were found to be normally and homogeneously distributed. As a result of the hypothesis test, the alternative hypothesis (Ha) was confirmed. In short, the findings confirm a significant correlation between grammar mastery and writing ability of the eighth-grade students of SMPN 5 Mengwi in academic year 2021/2022. Therefore, the result of the study can be used as the reinforcement for a teacher to teach grammar to the students, since a good grammar mastery can give an opportunity to have a better writing ability.]]>

<![CDATA[The undertaking of the exploration was substantially grounded on the primary study. The result of pre-test showed that utmost of the scholars in VIII-4 class of SMPN 6 Denpasar in academic year 2022/2023 faced problem in writing skill. The students had problems in constructing unified and coherent writing descriptive paragraph. The subjects consisted of 41 students: 20 males and 21 females. The object was to know whether or not the writing skill of the eighth-grade students of SMPN 6 Denpasar in academic year 2022/2023 can be improved trough Roundtable combined with picture. The design was a classroom behavioral study. This was done in two cycles, each cycle consisting of two sessions. Data showed that there were significant improvement on subject's average score from pre- and post-tests. The average pretest score was 45.39, post-test I was 74.39, and posttest II was 83.73. As supporting data, the questionnaire was also administered at the end of the last cycle and the results were displayed more than 93% of the subjects positively agreed on implementing Roundtable combined with picture in improving writing skill. Based on the data, the implementation of Roundtable combined with picture can make the subject more creative and be brave in expressing their idea into a good paragraph. Based on the findings, it could be concluded that the writing ability of the eighth-grade students at SMPN 6 Denpasar in the 2022/2023 school can be improved trough a Roundtable combined with picture.]]>

<![CDATA[This correlational research aims at finding out the correlation between habit of reading and writing ability of tenth grade students when learning narrative text. Some tenth grade students of SMAK Harapan Denpasar was taken as samples (60 students from two classes). In collecting the data, the researcher used five Likert scales questionnaire and writing narrative text test. The data collected in this research were analyzed by Pearson product moment and t - testing using SPSS version 25 for Windows. According to the result of the analysis and statistical calculation, it is found that r was 0.480. It also shows that the correlation between students reading habit and their ability of writing narrative text of tenth grade lies between 0.401-0.600 which is medium level. Moreover, the data shows significant correlation between both variables (t was 36.097). From the result, it can be concluded that there is significant correlation between reading habit and writing ability. Furthermore, the students and teachers should pay attention to the result of this reseach to increase the writing ability by increasing the reading habit of the students. It can be done by choosing various interesting and uptodate materials and strategies.]]>

<![CDATA[Reading is faced as a difficult activity to do. The preliminary study presented that the eighth-grade students of SMPN 1 kediri in the academic year 2022/2023 are difficult to identify general information, specific information, textual meaning, and textual reference. Looking at the prior condition, this research aims at knowing the students’ improvement after being treated with read-ask-put (rap) strategy. Therefore, classroom action research was considered to be undergone in two cycles. The instruments were tests and a questionnaire. The data was analyzed by looking at the result of the tests: pre-test and post-tests. The results showed that there occurred improvement from the mean score of the pre-test to the post-tests. It is in line with the result of the questionnaire which showed positive responses. Further rap strategy implementation is needed to be integrated with other language skills.]]>
