This article is based on the field research, the collecting of the data using depth interview as the primer data and exposure some references as the secondary data. This article found that deradicalization towards terrorist’s children is better under the education platform or pesantren, because it provides two things; firstly, children can gain their right to reach the education after they were marginalized even excluded from their former school. Secondly, it becomes a new home for the children where support the way to apply deradicalization program through the formal model (within the class) and informal model (out the class). There are four significant prograsm that Al-Hidayah pesantren applied namely a green school, life skill, tahfiz class, and trauma healing. Generally, it is success as a curative and preventive action. Although the pesantren receives some financial supports from the government and some other parties, it still struggles to raise more funds to provide free education for its student.

Abstract

This study aims at describing and analyzing the internalization of national awareness through raudlotul athfal (RA; an Islamic early childhood education institution) with the spirit of Aswaja an-Nahdliyah. Aswaja an-Nahdliyah is an ideology adopted by Nahdlatul Ulama, a major Islamic religious organization in Indonesia. This study argues that the internalization of the national awareness needs to be instilled from early age to anticipate the influence of globalization which is feared to erode the original character of a nation. Within the study, the qualitative method was adopted in order to answer two research questions: (1) how Islamic early childhood educational institutions develop nationalism awareness through the teachings of Ahlusunnah wal Jamaah; and (2) how the institutions construct the awareness of nationalism through the teachings of Ahlusunnah wal Jamaah. The results of the study show that the internalization of nationalism awareness through Islamic early childhood education institutions with the Aswaja an-Nahdliyah’s spirit has been carried out through curriculum content which has been systematically arranged in each research subject with the principle of considering early childhood characteristics. At the same time, the results of the study also show that the construction of nationalism awareness in the Islamic early childhood education institutions can be seen in Islamic holidays and national activities which were held on the Islamic early childhood institutions.

Abstract

This paper argues Islamism in Aceh Province, Indonesia, has a long history within the social structure of the Acehnese people. Genealogically, there are two factors to view Islamism here, namely the relationship between Islam and politics in the past, and the people’s cultural and social construction, which has a strong Islamic base. Therefore, the collective memory about the relationship between Islam and politics, as well as the construction, then has implications in the lives of the Acehnese people in closely viewing those from various aspects. This study applies a qualitative method in which the data were collected through observation, interview, and documentation. The findings indicate that Islamism in Aceh is not a form of compensation from the Government of Indonesia to quell the conflict, but rather the form of aspirations that come from below on the long-standing awareness in the cultural and social structure of the locals regarding the relationship between religion and the state. In addition, unlike similar studies involving the notion of Pan-Islamism, the result shows that Islamism is more likely as the demands to retrieve political recognition.

Second, the role of religion elite and religion fatwa has been succeeded to apply in Islamic boarding school area and people who have patron and client relationship. The spreading of information is very effective through social media.
