Abstract

The aim of this research is to determine the improvement in the quality and cognitive learning outcomes of students in semester 1 science subjects class VIII-B BNKP Telukdalam Christian Private Middle School for the 2022/2023 academic year through the application of inquiry learning strategies. This research was implemented at BNKP Telukdalam Christian Private Middle School for the 2022/2023 Academic Year. The subjects in this research were students in class VIII-B with a total of 30 students and the object of this research was the application of inquiry learning strategies. Data collection techniques use tests, observation, questionnaires and interviews. The test used is a multiple choice test which is carried out at the end of each cycle. Based on the results of research on improving science learning outcomes through inquiry learning strategies at BNKP Telukdalam Christian Private Middle School in cycle I with the number of students completing 18 people (60%) out of 30 students with an average score of 60.2 while student learning outcomes in cycle II were The number of students who completed was 23 (76.6%) out of 30 students with an average score of 76.6. The results of observations of student activity in the first cycle at the first meeting obtained an average percentage of 54.6% (less) and at the second meeting the first cycle obtained a percentage of 63.2% which was categorized as sufficient while in the second cycle the student activity at the first meeting increased to 72.6% which was in the good category and at the second meeting increased to 83.5% and is classified in the very good category. Meanwhile, the results of questionnaire processing in cycle I obtained a percentage of 65.2%, including the sufficient category, and in cycle II the percentage of questionnaires increased to 76.82% (good). In conclusion: one of the efforts to improve the learning outcomes of class VIII-B students at the BNKP Telukdalam Christian Private Middle School is to implement inquiry learning strategies. Suggestions: 1) In the learning process, teachers should use inquiry learning strategies in science subjects, 2) Subject teachers should pay attention to weaknesses that occur in the implementation of learning.

Abstract

This study was conducted in Hilionaha Kecamata Onolalu Village starting from June 9-30, 2021. This study aims to determine the influence of pineapple water squeeze as a coagulant in freezing latex. This type of research is quantitative research with experimental or quasi-experimental (True Eksperiment) with a Complete Randomized Design (RAL) experimental design. The population of this study was as many as 25 rubber trees (Havea brasiliiensis). The sample of this study was Purposive sampling consisting of 25 beaker glass latex. The data on the study were analyzed using the SPPS 20 application consisting of the Normality Test, Homogeneity Test, Hypothesis Test and Advanced Test. The findings of the study with the administration of pineapple water as coagulants affect the freezing of rubber sap. Then it can be concluded that pineapple water juice can be used as a coagulant material in freezing latex. The advice offered by researchers, should the use of pineapple water squeeze as a cane can be applied and able to improve the quality of agriculture and help improve the economy of rubber farmers.

Abstract

This research aims to produce products based on guided discovery learning on Ecosystem material that are valid, practical and effective. The type of development in this research is the development of a 4-D model, namely defining, designing, developing and disseminating. The research method used in this research is research and development. Based on the results of distributing questionnaires to students, it was found that the guided discovery learning-based module that was tested was very valid, very practical and very effective. The test results of the three module validators obtained very valid values ​​with the average number of the four variables being 90.88. As a result of the teacher's practicality of the module, an average score of 3.85 was obtained in the very practical category. The results of the student motivation questionnaire test were categorized as very high with a score of 89.22. And student learning outcomes in the cognitive domain show very good results with an average score of 82.61. So, through these results, it can be concluded that the development of modules based on guided discovery learning on ecosystem material can be declared valid, practical and effective in supporting student learning outcomes. Based on the results of this research, it is recommended to (1) Teachers. Science (Biology) subject teachers should be able to use learning modules based on Guided Discovery Learning as teaching materials in the learning process because they can facilitate the teaching and learning process activities, (2) Students. Through this teaching material, it is hoped that students can broaden their horizons regarding learning science (biology) on Ecosystem material, (3) For future researchers, this guided discovery learning-based module can be used as reference material in subsequent relevant research

Abstract

I Indonesia is a country rich in biodiversity, but students' knowledge of the value of biodiversity is low. Efforts have been made to teach an integrated species of indigenous knowledge, Manafo. The research aims to analyze the species used in Manafo and describe the educational video about it. The research method involves field exploration with interviews and documentation techniques. The field exploration research results were used to create educational videos. The tradition of betel chewing is known as Manafo, which involves the use of five ingredients: betel leaves (tawuo), lime powder (betua), gambier (gambe), tobacco (bago), and areca nut (fino). The video was uploaded on YouTube and can be accessed through the link https://youtu.be/jyqUbjH5IZk. Respondents gave a positive and good response to the Manafo educational video. These videos are intended to support the knowledge of the younger generation while promoting cultural appreciation.

Abstract

This research aims to determine students' learning motivation, namely producing descriptive data in the form of written and verbal words from the people and behavior observed. The research method used is a qualitative research method with a descriptive method which aims to describe phenomena or symptoms that occur around and that can be seen. The data collection techniques used are observation, interviews and documents or archives. The subjects in this research were 20 students of the Amal-Mas 1 Lahusa Private Vocational School, majoring in Nursing Assistant. The research results show that student learning motivation has a very important role in the teaching and learning process for both teachers and students. So it can be concluded that learning motivation in learning shows the level at which students there have very good motivation. Learning motivation can influence student learning outcomes in biology subjects. Researcher suggestions (1) teachers should be able to understand the factors that can influence the results of student learning motivation. (2) Future researchers should carry out this research with a wider scope.

Abstract

The aims of this research were (1) to know the problems of students in joining the Biology learning in SMA Negeri 1 Ulunoyo. And (2) to know the factors cause students’ problems in joining the Biology learning in SMA Negeri 1 Ulunoyo. Based on the research finding that the students’ problems in joining the Biology learning namely; the students did not have the competence in comprehending the Biology learning theoretically and practically, the Biology materials cannot be understood because they contain the Science language, Latin language, and the Chemistry unsure, the students did not active in learning activity, they did not have motivation to study, they did not spirit to study, and they did not have the enthusiasm in joining the process of learning activity. Then, the factor cause of students’ problems in joining the Biology learning namely; the tool and facilities and infrastructure as support the Biology learning are incomplete and inadequate. One of them namely; the equipment of nature science laboratory, the learning media and the learning source in Biology learning so they influence the teacher’s ability in teaching the learning materials and they can influence the students’ motivation to study. The, as the suggestions were proposed by the researcher namely; the results of this research expected can be the evaluation for the teacher and students and to be used as reference in improving the learning system. For the teacher, expected improve the learning strategy and method to trigger the students’ motivation and intention in joining the Biology learning. For the students, expected can be improving the motivation and intention in learning the Biology learning material.

Abstract

This research aims to develop Canva-based learning media that can increase student learning motivation and student learning outcomes. This type of research is research and development (Research and Development) using the 4D development method. The research was tested on 20 class X students of SMA Negeri 1 Susua. To standardize products, it is carried out through three stages of testing, namely practicality and effectiveness testing. The instruments used are research questionnaires and evaluation test questions to determine student learning outcomes. The research results show that this learning media is very valid with a percentage of 89.6% and is suitable for use. The average value of practicality assessed by teachers is 3.5 and 3.3.6 students are in the very practical category. Student motivation results are at 3.36 with an average value of cognitive learning outcomes of 88.7. Based on the results of this research, the Canva-based Kingdom Plantae material biology learning media is stated to be able to increase student motivation and learning outcomes and is a valid, practical learning media. and effective.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the application of the flipped classroom learning model to improve student learning outcomes in biology learning in class XI-IPA at SMA Negeri 1 Ulususua. Based on the results of research carried out by researchers regarding improving the quality and cognitive learning outcomes of students through the flipped classroom learning model for Biology Science subjects in class XI, it can be concluded that student learning outcomes have increased from cycle I to cycle II. This is based on data from the results of observations of student and researcher activities. The percentage of observations of student and researcher activities in the first cycle was in the sufficient category, while observations of student and researcher activities in the second cycle experienced an increase, namely being in the very good category. Based on the results of these observations, it can be concluded that the learning model using the flipped classroom learning model can improve the quality of learning and students' cognitive learning outcomes. Suggestions for teachers to make the flipped classroom learning model an alternative that is worth considering in learning. Future researchers hope that this research can become a relevant reference with a wider scope.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to develop online-based multimedia for learning activities. The type of research is research and development (Research and Development) with a 4-D model. There are three test stages in this research, including: validity test, practicality t test, and effectiveness test. The instruments used are questionnaires and easy test questions to determine student learning outcomes after using the product. The research results obtained through a distributed questionnaire show that online biology-based interactive multimedia is very valid, practical and effective, with a percentage of 91.05% and is suitable for use in learning. The teacher's practicalization score was 3.59 and the average practicalization score was 3.64 in the very peak category. Student motivation of 90.68 is categorized as very high. And student learning results in the cognitive domain of 87.62 indicate very good results. So, through these results, it can be concluded that the development of online-based interactive multimedia in Biology is valid, practical and effective in supporting student motivation and learning outcomes. The author's suggestions in this research are as follows: 1) For teachers, the subject can be used as an alternative learning resource to improve students' scientific abilities. 2) For other researchers who want to develop online-based interactive multimedia, it is hoped that they will carry out cognitive domain tests on students. 3) For schools, hopefully it will facilitate teachers in developing teaching materials in the form of online-based interactive multimedia. 4) For Greater Nias University, as reading material or reference for students who will compose their next scientific work.

Abstract

The objectives of this research are as follows: 1) to determine the results of biology learning given to students of SMA Negeri 1 Luahagundre Maniamolo using the recitation method; and 2) to find out the factors that influence biology learning outcomes. This type of research is qualitative research. The subjects in this research were biology teachers and 23 students in class XI MIA of SMA Negeri 1 Luahagundre Maniamolo in 2023. The results of the research show that students can develop the ability to understand biology learning and can be accountable for what they have done. So it can be concluded that students at SMA Negeri 1 Luahagundre Maniamolo experienced good changes in the biology learning process with interactions between teachers and students and students with other students, including the development of autonomous attitudes, awareness, will and self-motivation. The suggestions put forward by researchers are 1) Researchers should be able to find out students' learning outcomes in developing their own processing skills in understanding material by using the recitation method in the learning process. 2) Teachers should prepare learning methods first before carrying out the learning process in the classroom, so that they can find out students' learning outcomes. And 3) Students should be more active in class by understanding biology material independently in the learning process.
