Abstract

This study aims to explore the implementation of the Merdeka Belajar policy in the teaching of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) at SD Al-Ittihadiyah Mamiyai Bromo, focusing on how this policy is applied, the challenges encountered, and the opportunities arising from it. The research uses a qualitative approach with a phenomenological design, involving data collection through observations, interviews with the principal, PAI teachers, and students, as well as documentation studies. The findings indicate that Merdeka Belajar has been successfully implemented by providing flexibility in learning, including student-centered methods and experiential learning. However, challenges such as teacher readiness, limited resources, and shifts in teaching paradigms were also identified. Despite these challenges, the implementation has shown positive outcomes in fostering deeper engagement with Islamic values and promoting students' character development. This study contributes to the existing literature by offering insights into the application of Merdeka Belajar in religious education, which is rarely discussed in previous research.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the implementation of the routine tahsin Qur’an program before learning in MIS Kuba and the students' responses to the habituation process. The habituation activities include reading repetition, tajwid improvement, and enhancing students' spiritual character, such as discipline and love for the Qur’an. The results show that the habituation before tahsin Qur’an learning has a significant positive impact, with most students showing improvement in reading the Qur’an with correct tajwid. Students' responses were very positive, with many feeling helped and more confident in reading the Qur’an. However, some students still struggled with pronouncing certain letters. This study contributes to the development of tahsin Qur’an learning methods, especially in emphasizing the importance of habituation before starting more in-depth tahsin learning.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the perceptions of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teachers regarding gender-based learning at MIS Humayroh Labuhanbatu Utara. Using a qualitative approach with a case study design, the research collects data through observations, interviews with teachers and the principal, and document analysis. The findings show that most teachers have a positive view of gender equality in education but face challenges in implementing gender-based teaching practices due to cultural and social norms. While teachers acknowledge the importance of equal opportunities for both male and female students, traditional gender roles often influence their teaching methods. Despite these challenges, classrooms that integrate gender equality show more active participation from both male and female students. This research contributes to the field of Islamic education by providing insights into how teachers perceive and implement gender-based learning, highlighting the importance of gender-sensitive teaching in fostering inclusive and effective learning environments.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the leadership model of school principals in improving the quality of education at MIS Al-Washliyah Labuhanbatu Utara. Using a qualitative approach with a case study design, the research collects data through observations, interviews with the principal, teachers, and staff, as well as document analysis. The findings reveal that the principal applies a combination of transformational and participative leadership models. Transformational leadership motivates teachers and staff, while participative leadership involves all stakeholders in decision-making. However, challenges such as limited resources, slow cultural change, and lack of parental support hinder the full implementation of these leadership models. Despite these obstacles, the principal continues to foster a supportive and collaborative environment for educational improvement. This study contributes to the literature on leadership in religious-based education, offering valuable insights for school managers in implementing effective leadership models to enhance educational quality.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the efforts made by the principal in improving the performance of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teachers at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Ali Imran Medan. Using a qualitative approach and case study design, the research collects data through observations, interviews with the principal, PAI teachers, and administrative staff, as well as document analysis. The findings reveal that the principal implements transformational leadership to inspire and motivate teachers, and participative leadership to involve teachers in decision-making processes. The principal also emphasizes professional development through relevant training programs. However, challenges such as limited resources, resistance to change, and lack of support from parents remain significant barriers to improving teacher performance. Despite these obstacles, the principal continues to create a supportive environment for teacher development. This study contributes to understanding the role of school leadership in improving teacher performance, offering practical insights for school management and policy development.
