Abstract

Voluntourism is the extension of responsible tourism or alternative tourism. Voluntourism is further reinforced by a belief that tourism allows community empowerment. It may revive and maintain the welfare of local communities through eco-travel experiences. Visitors may not compromise with undesirable attitudes, but serve as goodwill ambassadors and express their compassion towards local communities and the ecosystem of the destination attraction. However, is it true that this practice is as green as it is touted? This research aims to analyze the implications of voluntourism and focus on an array of triple-bottom-line concepts of sustainability, namely, economic development, socio-cultural inclusion, and environmental impact, and the scope of the practical standard of these ecotravel practices. This study adopts a library-based research methodology, with data examined through a descriptive qualitative approach to provide comprehensive and contextually grounded insights. This approach used constant comparative analysis when examining the data to meet the purpose of the study. The result showed there are multiple gaps in implementing volunteer tourism in practice. However, as there is no single significance of this concept, there are several alternative solutions that can be implemented. VTO's role could be one ultimate factor in increasing the effectiveness of volunteer tourism best practice in the area visited. Furthermore, fostering projects that may allow a process of co-creation and co-presence among locals, tourists, and volunteer tourism organizations, and a need to look at how volunteer tourism is perceived by locals through the involvement of locals in the decision-making process on how VT projects may impact their areas.

Abstract

This article explores the significance of viral marketing and how it impacts tourism branding and affects travelers' behaviors from clicks to trips. It uses three themes: destination image, traveler engagement, authenticity, and how it influences travel intention. A qualitative approach is used to uncover insights, while a thematic analysis is used to look for patterns that emerge from the data. The results reveal that strategic use of social media platforms and user-generated content (UGC) of destinations can craft authentic and compelling narratives that resonate with travelers, enhancing destinations' visibility and appeal. The research also highlights the dual nature of viral marketing; while it can significantly boost a destination's desirability by showcasing cultural attractions and positive visitor experiences, it also presents risks, as poorly managed campaigns can lead to negative publicity and damage a destination's reputation. Some examples of viral campaigns illustrate the potential benefits and challenges of viral marketing. The study concludes that successful viral marketing requires a careful balance of authenticity, emotional engagement, and consistent information, enabling tourism brands to build lasting relationships with visitors. However, as viral content continues to shape perceptions, destinations must manage their online reputation effectively to ensure their brand promise is consistently upheld.

Abstract

This study examines the influence of promotion and customer behavior on the decision to continue studying for a Master's degree with trust as a mediating variable. Using a quantitative approach with PLS-SEM analysis, the study found that customer behavior has a significant direct influence on the decision to continue studying (β=0.661, p<0.001), while promotion and customer behavior have a significant effect on the formation of trust. However, trust was not proven to mediate the relationship between the independent variables and the decision to continue studying, creating a "trust-action gap" phenomenon. The implication is that higher education institutions need to integrate customer experience management with promotional strategies that build trust, as well as develop mechanisms for converting trust into actual decisions.

Abstract

The digital transformation in the insurance industry demands high system resilience to ensure continuous service delivery to customers. This study aims to analyze the integration of Business Continuity Planning (BCP) and Disaster Recovery Plan (DRP) within a digital insurance system, using the Generali Hospital Network (GHN) of Generali Indonesia as a case study. Employing a qualitative descriptive approach based on a case study, the primary data is derived from the author's direct experience as a backend developer of the GHN system. The results reveal that an outage in the Kafka cloud broker caused a failure in transmitting inpatient and outpatient registration data from hospitals, disrupting the printing of key documents and hindering claim processes. The incident highlighted the absence of formal RTO/RPO documentation, lack of Kafka failover, and the absence of disaster recovery simulations. However, as part of the recovery effort, the DevOps team has implemented a monitoring system on GCP integrated with Telegram and email alerts. This study concludes that a well-integrated BCP and DRP are essential to maintaining service continuity and mitigating operational disruption in digital insurance environments

Abstract

Kogartap I/Jakarta plays a strategic role in maintaining order in the capital city, executing state ceremonial duties, and supporting both military and non-military operations. In carrying out these tasks, the unit faces a number of potential risks, both internal—such as disruptions in communication and logistics systems—and external, including natural disasters, security threats, or social crises. As a result, the implementation of a Business Continuity Plan (BCP) is critically important as a risk mitigation strategy aimed at ensuring the organization's functionality during operational disruptions. This study seeks to analyze the extent to which BCP can be effectively applied within Kogartap I/Jakarta, and how it contributes to enhancing the organization’s readiness and responsiveness in crisis situations. The research employs a descriptive qualitative approach, using data collection techniques such as interviews, observation, and document analysis. It is expected that this study will strengthen BCP system recommendations to ensure operational continuity and the sustainability of routine garrison tasks in achieving the unit’s operational and strategic objectives.

Abstract

The distribution of social assistance funds is one of the important aspects in supporting the welfare of the community, especially in programs such as the Family Hope Program (PKH) and Basic Necessities. PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (BRI) has a big responsibility in ensuring that the distribution of social assistance funds to beneficiaries is carried out on time, efficiently, and safely. In this context, the implementation of a Business Continuity Plan (BCP) in the monitoring infrastructure of the distribution of social assistance funds is very important, in order to maintain operational continuity despite unexpected disruptions or disasters. BCP focuses not only on operational recovery after an outage, but also on risk mitigation measures aimed at preventing disruptions from occurring. This article comprehensively discusses the application of BCP in the social assistance fund distribution monitoring system at PT Bank BRI, focusing on risk identification, the development of disaster recovery procedures, and the implementation of modern technology to support operational continuity. In addition, this article also explores the importance of regular simulations and testing in ensuring the readiness of systems and teams in dealing with emergency situations. This research aims to provide insight into how a structured BCP can strengthen the social fund distribution system and increase public trust in the management of social assistance. It is hoped that the results of this research can be a reference for other organizations that have similar responsibilities in managing the distribution of social assistance funds or other public services.

Abstract

Economic welfare is driven by financial inclusion as an essential element, yet the effectiveness of digital technology adoption in expanding financial access still shows mixed results. This study aims to analyze the influence of financial technology penetration, internet access, and income on financial inclusion in Indonesia. Using a quantitative approach with an explanatory design, data were collected through online questionnaires from 100 respondents selected via purposive sampling. Data analysis was performed using multiple linear regression to test the relationships between variables partially and simultaneously. The results indicate that income and financial technology penetration have a positive and significant influence on financial inclusion partially. Conversely, the internet access variable does not show a statistically significant effect. This concludes that although digital infrastructure is evenly available, economic capacity and the adoption of specific digital financial services remain the primary determinants of financial accessibility. As a recommendation, strategic policies should prioritize economic empowerment programs and the development of more inclusive financial products to ensure that technology effectively bridges the financial inclusion gap.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of foreign exchange forward contract utilization on compliance with Bank Indonesia’s prudential reporting principles and its role in moderating the relationship between forward contracts and corporate foreign exchange gains and losses at PT XX, an affiliated company of PT United Tractors Tbk. The research employs a quantitative approach using secondary data derived from the company’s financial statements and prudential compliance reports over a specific observation period. Data were analyzed using linear regression and moderated regression analysis to examine the relationships among the research variables. The results indicate that the utilization of foreign exchange forward contracts does not have a significant effect on compliance with Bank Indonesia’s prudential reporting principles. In addition, forward contract utilization has not shown a significant impact on the company’s foreign exchange gains and losses. Compliance with prudential reporting principles tends to moderate the relationship between forward contracts and foreign exchange gains and losses; however, the moderating effect is not statistically significant. These findings suggest that exchange rate risk management is not solely determined by the use of forward contracts but is also influenced by other factors, such as exchange rate volatility and overall economic conditions. This study is expected to provide insights for companies in managing foreign exchange risk and improving the quality of prudential reporting practices.
