Abstract

Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to zero hunger in Indonesia can be seen from several indicators. One indicator that can assess the success of SDGs for zero hunger is the percentage of households with insufficient food status. Almost all provinces have not been able to achieve the target of the minimum proportion of households with insufficient food status each year. This study aims to identify the factors that influence the percentage of households with insufficient food status. The data used is panel data with observations from 34 provinces in Indonesia for the 2015 - 2022 period. This research uses panel data regression analysis method with the best model is Fixed Effect Model (FEM). The results of this study show that food inflation average, growth in per capita, production of dry milled unhusked rice, and the percentage of poor people affect the percentage of households with insufficient food status in Indonesia in 2015 - 2022.

Abstract

DKI Jakarta contributes the largest GRDP to national economic growth in 2022. This condition is supported by the average net monthly formal worker’s wage/salary, the average net monthly informal worker’s income, the Regional Minimum Wage, and HDI that all being the highest in Indonesia. However, in 2022, there are 63.77 percent of DKI Jakarta’s households access unlivable houses. House construction considers social and economics factors. This research uses Susenas data of March 2022 for descriptive analysis through graphics and inferential analysis through binary logistic regression. The results show that households that tended to access livable houses have household heads with minimum senior high school education and older ages, have monthly per capita expenditure of minimum IDR 1.9 million, non-recipients of credit, and occupy their homes. This research is expected to identify the household characteristics that access livable houses and help to determining policies regarding the issue of livable housing’s access.

Abstract

Development Humans emphasize the fulfillment of a decent life both materially and non-materially. In measuring the achievement of human development, the Human Development Index (IPM) was formed. eastern of Indonesia (KTI) is an underdeveloped region and has lower human development achievements than western of Indonesia (KBI). In addition, KTI is the largest poverty contributing region which can trigger other problems. To fix this problem, the government has taken steps to accelerate development but until now it has not met the expected target. Therefore, this study aims to explain the general picture and analyze the influence of unemployment, sanitation infrastructure, ICT infrastructure directly on HDI or indirectly through district/city poverty in KTI 2021. The results of the path analysis show that unemployment, sanitation, and the internet have a direct effect on HDI and poverty, while unemployment, sanitation, and internet have an indirect effect on HDI through poverty.

Abstract

Food crops and horticulture are commodities that contribute the largest GRDP contribution to the agricultural sector. Labor in the agricultural sector is also still the backbone of employment in West Sumatra. Leading commodities become an important thing in the focus of a region's development to increase economic growth and people's welfare. Regional clusters of potential food crops and horticulture are needed to determine the superior commodities of a region down to the district level so that regional development can be focused on these superior commodities. The K-Means method is used because it has the advantage of being mutually independent between the clusters formed and not overlapping. At the beginning of cluster formation, the within cluster variation method was used to achieve ideal conditions, namely small variations within clusters and large variations between clusters. The potential areas for secondary crops identified are in 38 districts. As for horticultural crops, the identified potential areas are in 17 districts for seasonal fruit and vegetable plants, 14 districts for biopharmaceutical plants, 39 districts for annual fruit and vegetable plants, and 5 districts for ornamental plants. After knowing the superior commodities of a region, an assessment of the strategy for increasing production is carried out as a follow-up to determine the advancement of superior commodities in a region.

Abstract

Indonesia, as the world's largest producer of nickel ore, seeks to increase exports of processed nickel by establishing a policy of banning nickel ore exports. However, Indonesia is not among the fifteen largest nickel export countries in the world. This study aims to analyze general picture of Indonesia's processed nickel export volume, and analyze the effect of Indonesia's nickel ore export ban policy and other factors on Indonesia's processed nickel export volume. The methods used are line graphs and Error Correction Mechanism (ECM). In the long run, Indonesia's processed nickel export volume is influenced by the dummy of Peraturan Menteri ESDM Nomor 1 Tahun 2014, dummy of Peraturan Menteri ESDM Nomor 11 Tahun 2019, China's industrial GDP, real exchange rate of rupiah against US dollar, and world nickel processed prices. Meanwhile, in the short term, Indonesia's processed nickel export volume is influenced by the dummy of Peraturan Menteri ESDM Nomor 1 Tahun 2014, China's industrial GDP, and real exchange rate of rupiah against US dollar.

Abstract

Stunting is still a nutritional problem experienced in several provinces in Indonesia. Central Sulawesi is one of the provinces in Indonesia with a stunting prevalence above the national rate. The stunting prevalence of Central Sulawesi Province in 2018 was 32.3 percent. This figure is still far from the World Health Organization standard, which is 20 percent for low category stunting. In the period 2018-2021, the decline in the prevalence of stunting among children under five in Central Sulawesi Province also tends to be slow compared to other provinces. In addition, the distribution of stunting in Central Sulawesi Province based on districts and cities also varies. This study aims to determine the determinants of stunting in toddlers in Central Sulawesi Province in 2018 using Riskesdas data. The method used in this study is binary logistic regression. The results of this study are, father's education, mother's education, and SEZ status in mothers have a significant effect on the stunting status of toddlers. Therefore, the government needs to optimize the 12-year compulsory education program, and pay attention to maternal health by improving existing health facilities.

Abstract

Rice is the staple food for the majority of Indonesian people. The availability of rice stocks in Indonesia must be maintained. The government through the food storage megaproject policy which will start in mid-2020 until it is planned to end in 2024 is trying to strengthen national food reserves in several provinces including Central Kalimantan. The study was conducted to confirm whether the total rice production has reached the government's target and to find out what factors influence the amount of rice production and its coefficient values before and after the intervention analysis time period from January 2019 to March 2023. The interrupted time-series and multiple linear regression methods were used in the analysis. The area of paddy harvested land and the price of rice milling are the predictor variables with the consideration that there is a significant effect of the two variables after the intervention. Dummy variables for the time period before and after the intervention were also included to see the effect of the time after the intervention. The results showed that the rice food storage mega project policy had an impact on increasing rice production in Central Kalimantan.

Abstract

Child labor is a violation of child protection rights, especially if working in the worst forms of child labor, one of which is in the plantation sector that occurs in North Sumatra. The purpose of this study is to determine the general description and factors that significantly affect child labor in the plantation sector in North Sumatra. The unit of analysis is the labor of children aged 10-17 years who have not head of household status in North Sumatra sourced from Susenas Kor in March 2021. The analysis method used is descriptive analysis and multilevel logistic regression which is divided into two levels. The results of this study show that the working age of children is 10-12 years, not in school, and the number of household members is more than four, and the percentage of poor people at the district / city level has a greater tendency to work in the plantation sector. Meanwhile, child laborers from households with land assets and open unemployment rates in districts are less likely to work in the plantation sector.

Abstract

The increase in Indonesia's sugar imports was due to production originating from within the country but unable to meet various needs for the domestic region. This shortage of sugar production is of course in line with the production of sugar cane which is the main ingredient and there are eight sugarcane producing centers in the province. Sugarcane production is closely related to the influence of production factors and production technology (TFP). This study aims to analyze the various influences on sugarcane production from land area and labor in eight sugarcane-producing provinces and to analyze the determinants of TFP growth (TFPG) using panel data regression. Where the results were obtained showing that the sugarcane planting area had a significant positive effect and labor had a negative but not significant effect. Foreign investment in agriculture and plantations and Farmers' Exchange Rates of plantation crops have a negative but not significant effect on the TFPG.
