Abstract

Effect of Positive Affirmation on Eating Problems on ChildrenBackground: growth disorders cannot be separated from how a mother gives food to her toddler. Feeding children is considered a natural process, however, 50-60% of parents report that their child has feeding problems. Objectives: :  to analyze the positive effect of affirmation on children's eating problems (Picky and small eaters). Methods: this study used a quasi-experimental study with one group pre-test-post-test. The independent variable is a positive affirmation, while the dependent variable is eating problems in toddlers including small eaters and picky eaters. This research was conducted at Raudlatul Jannah Preschool, Sidoarjo and the respondents were the guardians of the students at the school. The instrument uses an affirmation flashcard and a questionnaire. The population is the guardians of the kindergarten class as many as 46 people. With simple random sampling obtained a sample of 41 respondents. Results: based on the results of data analysis with the Paired T Test on the picky eater variable before and after being given a positive affirmation using flashcard affirmation media, it shows that p = 0.008 (p <0.05) which means that there is a significant effect between positive affirmations on picky eaters. Likewise, the small eater variable shows the result that p = 0.017 (p <0.05), which means that there is a significant effect between positive affirmations and small eaters in children. Conclusion: there is a positive affirmation effect on children's eating problems (picky eaters and small eaters).

Abstract

Relationship of Infant Massage to Weight Gains in Low Birth Weight Infant (LBWL): Systematic ReviewBackground: weight gain in LBW infants is very important in preventing an increase in mortality, morbidity, disability and long-term impact on infants. Weight gain is associated with tactile stimulation such as massage. Literally, there have been many studies that have proven the association between infant massage intervention and LBW weight gain, so the researchers conducted a systematic review. Objectives: :  to identify the relationship between infant massage and weight gain in LBW infants. Methods: This study uses a systematic review with the PICOS framework, namely population, intervention, comparators, outcomes, study design and publication type. The research range is from 2011 to 2021 on English-language ProQuest, PubMed, ScienceDirect and ResearchGate searches using full text inclusion criteria using the keywords infant massage, weight gain, infant low birth weight. Results: these results were then screened using the criteria for the year and type of article to produce 253 literatures. The researcher excluded 214 literatures that were not in accordance with the topic or which could not be accessed by full text so that 39 full text literatures were obtained according to the topic. After 39 literatures were reviewed, there were 4 similar literatures, 3 non-English literature, 8 literatures with subjects other than infant low birth weight, 17 literatures that did not examine the relationship between infant massage and weight gain and 3 articles that discussed more than two intervention groups. Finally, there are four literatures analyzed in this systematic review. Assessment of literature quality using EPHPP found that all literature has been indexed by Scopus and is not a predatory journal. Based on data extraction from the four literatures, it was found that baby massage increased changes in infant weight by 619.06 ± 465.23. Conclusion: there is weight gain in infants who are given massage, changes in body weight in infants using massage interventions are higher than infants without massage interventions, and infant massage is associated with weight gain in low birth weight infants.

Abstract

The Social Media Effect on Increased Maternal Knowledge of Techniques that Reduce Labor PainBackground: pain during childbirth is one of the most painful pains compared to other pain experienced by women during their lifetime. A woman will perceive pain depending on her cognitive and emotional. Cognitive and emotion are closely related to knowledge. Knowledge is one of the factors that influence pain. Small discussion groups or classes for pregnant women are used as a means of sharing knowledge. The use of social media is an alternative option that can be used to keep discussion groups or classes on pregnant women alive without being hindered by situations and conditions. Objective: To determine the effectiveness of social media to increase knowledge of pregnant women on techniques to reduce labor pain. Method: This is a Pre-Experimental Designs research with the type of One-group Pretest-posttest design. Research respondents were primigravida pregnant women who were collected in a Whatsapp Group (WAG) group as a medium of communication and learning during the Covid-19 pandemic. The pretest was carried out on the research respondents before the treatment in the form of providing information on techniques to reduce labor pain, and the posttest was carried out after the treatment was carried out. Data analysis used paired T-test. Results: there are differences in the level of knowledge of respondents before and after treatment. Before treatment, it was known that the average value of the respondents was 51.42±13.88 with the highest value of 70, while after treatment the average value was known to be 67.28±13.57 with the highest value of 90. The ρ-value was 0.002. Conclusion: social media has proven to be effective to be chosen as a means of transferring knowledge without being hindered by environmental situations and conditions.

Abstract

Empirical Use of Antibiotics in Pneumonia PatientsBackground: antibiotic as definitive therapy for pneumonia must be given within 8 hours, but on the other hand, to identify the cause of pneumonia will take several days so antibiotic are often given empirically. This will lead into the inaccuracy of choosing antibiotic for pneumonia patients. Inappropriate use of antibiotic can result in less effective treatment, decreased drug safety, increased resistance, and treatment costs. This analytical study of the use of antibiotics is important in relation to evaluating the use of antibiotic for pneumonia in medical practice. Objectives: :  this study was to analyze and evaluate the patterns of antibiotic use in pneumonia patients, especially monotherapy and polytherapy antibiotics. Methods: the research location was in Wangaya Hospital, Denpasar City. Data collection was carried out retrospectively based on medical record data of pneumonia patients that hospitalized in 2017-2018. Patients diagnosed as pneumonia with code ICD-10 J.18, aged over 17 years, and receiving antibiotic therapy were included in the study. Results: we found the most widely used antibiotic were the combination of cefoperazone and levofloxacin (24.2%). Conclusion: there is one type of antibiotic combination that has a risk of major interactions that should be avoided.
