Abstract

Pada abad ke-16 sampai abad ke-19 M perkembangan Islam di Nusantara diwarnai wacana intelektual yang bernuansa tasawuf, baik yang bercorak falsafi maupun yang bercorak akhlaqi yang lebih berorientasi kepada pengamalan ‘amali praktis dan pembinaan akhlaq al-karimah. Salah satu tokohnya adalah ’Abd al-¢amad al-Palimbanī yang melahirkan karya berjudul Anis al-Muttaqin. Manuskrip ini berisi tentang bagaimana terciptanya kualitas manusia unggul yang tidak hanya mampu menjalin hubungan yang baik dengan Allah sebagai Pencipta, namun juga memiliki hubungan yang baik dengan sesama makhluk melalui akhlak yang terpuji. Manusia unggul menurut naskah AM adalah Pertama, orang yang mampu menyelaraskana antara zikir dan fikir. Kedua, orang yang mampu menyeimbangkan antara ilmu dan amal shalih. Ketiga, adalah orang yang melandasi amalnya dengan hati yang ikhlas.Kata Kunci: Tawasuf, Akhlak Karimah, Manusia Unggul

Abstract

The content of Guguritan Haji Hasan Mustapa deals with the dynamic of religious life of Sundanese. Through,  Guguritan,  members of community communicate each other  by means of dialog. From the guguritan as a culture, it is manifestly that Sunda is an open cultural identity. Sunda and Sundanese also, have become the meeting point of their cultural identity. It was shown here by their pattern of reciprocal interaction and adaptation—both in group communication (makalangan) and  adaptation to the change of the world (ngigelan zaman dan ngigelkeun zaman).Keywords: Tembang,  Tradition, Guguritan Haji Hasan Mustapa

Abstract

Islamic development in Indonesia, especially in Sunda archipelago, was not only affecting the development of language and literacy, but also in the form of poetic genre. Besides the form of poetry such as pupuh, tembang, etc. as well. Sundanese society also know types of poetry called as pupujian or syi’iran or nazhaman in Arabic (Sunda: nadoman). Nadoman has a consistent metric pattern, in which it consists of 4 syllables each arrays, with few arrays in an exception which has less or more than one syllable. The 24 syllables in one array, usually in the form of song genre, be beheaded with a pattern 4 | 4 | 4#4 | 4 | 4 (symbol #marking the middle side of array), transformed from the pattern bahr Rajaz Arabic poetry. The text of Isra Mi’raj containing the story of isra’ mi’raj has a significant social function as a medium of learning for Sunda-Islam society, especially Kuningan community where the manuscript was found. Through nadoman, the story of isra’mi’raj displayed in the form of “chanted poetry” that is easy to be remembered. Keywords: Ilmu ‘Arudl, Nadoman effective learning

Abstract

Naqsyabandiyah Khalidiyah Order is a name for Naqsyabandiyah order that refers to one of Caliph that is Syekh Abdul Khalik Fajduani. This School of thought has spread out in the archipelago and became a great interest for the Colonial. Kadirun Yahya who has interests with this order (tarekat) is a scientist, a physics teacher, joined tarekat and become the leader of this order and succeeded in developing and raising the Naqsyabandiyah Khalidiyah. In his hand, the Naqsyabandiyah order has different appearance instead of other tarekat. The specification of this tarekat was lies with its scientific approach. He tries to explain his tarekat through scientific theory, though he admitted that it is not easy for everybody to understand the metaphysical problems through the explanation of science, unless for they who understand religion as much as science and technology. Abstract

By using a semiotic approach, this study explored deradicalization narrative in the two online Islamic media, Republika and Arrahmah. This study aimed at clarifying the meanings of deradicalization in Indonesia and contributing to the implementation of deradicalization project. The study was conducted by using a textual analysis, mainly paradigmatic and syntagmatic analysis. This study found Republika narrated that the deradicalization was the efforts to prevent radical ideology and to correct misinterpretation towards Islam. For Arrahmah , deradicalization was a part of war against Islam and distorted the teachings of Islam. Keywords: Semiotics, Deradicalization, Terrorism, Jihad.

Abstract

The community of Tionghoa muslim in Indonesia is a unique phenomenon. They are minority in number while they are also under minority tribes as Tionghoa. The uniqueness of them they hold onto majority religion in Indonesia.  The existence of this community was up and down in history. This study found the fact that there are cultural growth and identity in the present day, especially in the case of West Kalimantan. They formed the organization, adapted and has obsession to build Mosque with Tionghoa architecture. They plan for building Cheng Ho mosque.  Keywords: Muslim Tionghoa, Culture, and Identity.

Abstract

This paper is aimed at revealing the sensitive issues of early islamization of Burma (Mynmar) which are still debated by many historian. Besides reviewing the conflicting opinions, the paper also proposes a perspective that make it more reasonable based on the strong historical facts, especially from local sources of Burma. According to Muslim historian, Islam reached Burma, particularly Arakanese territory in the first hegira (in the seventh or the eighth century AD). Then, Islam became a popular religion in the nineth century, and became a religious power in the thirteenth century. The problem would be different opinion on the early Islamic community called Rohingya, the Muslim empire in existence also known as Burma Mrauk-U. Keywords: Burma, Arakan, Mrauk-U, Rohingya.

Abstract

Ampel Mosque of Amlapura, Karangasem is one of the ancient mosques in the Province of Bali. According to local folklore, the mosque was built in the 17th century AD. The existence of this mosque shows characteristics of an ancient mosque, which according Pijper often found in Java. Some of the main features of ancient mosques found in the mosque, i.e. massive foundation and rather high and square shaped, rectangular schematics even square, thick-walled, and roofed duplex overlap. It was characterised that Ampel Mosque appeared like the shape of Sunan Ampel mosque Surabaya, East Java, and it also resembled to the two other mosques in Banten province, viz. Caringin Mosque and Al-Khusaini Mosque of Carita, both are in the District of Pandeglang. Ampel Mosque is currently no longer used as a place of worship but is used as a place of religious activities such as religious teaching (Majlis Taklim), Preliminary or preschool education of Al-Qur'an (TPA) and Religious Education (Madrasah Diniyah) . The existence of the ancient mosque of Ampel in this village is one of the historical testimony of the development and spread of Islam in Bali amongst the majority of Hindu population. Abstract

The architectural model of the ritual place represents the way of life of the society. This study tries to trace back the philosophical meaning of the architecture of Lima Kaum Mosque in Butusangkar, West Sumatera. This study found a relation between the mosque architecture with the philosophy of Minang society. This mosque was built by using 119 poles, which represent the description that the Nagari Lima Kaum has one hundred nineteen leaders, or called as ninik-mamak. Abstract

Raja Ali Haji is one of the prominent Sultan of the Malay Riau-Lingga Sultanate.  Emperor Mosque was one of legacy of the Malay Riau-Lingga Empire which still stand firm and become the coat of arms of the Malay’s Empire in the past. This Mosque was built on the first year after King Abdurrahman crowned as The Young Lords/Yang Dipertuan Muda (YDM), Prime Minister level, who rule in the year of 1832 M- 1844 M. The feature of this Mosque among others: first, when other mosque was made from woods at the time, this mosque is already using stones and sands with egg white adhesive. Second, it has a beautiful architecture. The minaret following the Turkish Mosque pencil-shaped model, while the dome was unique it has rectangular and hexagon shape, which previously net exist in other mosques. In this mosque there are ancient manuscript, books and few manuscripts of the scholars and the Young Lords of Riau Lingga’s Empire. This study tend to elaborate the main vocal point of mosque architecture also to prove that the mosque become the study center of Moslem scholar at the time. This mosque has become the identity and symbol of the triumph of the Malay Sultanate in the past. Keywords: Sultan Mosque, Islamic Studies
