Abstract

The rapid development of technology and information currently encourages coffee shop entrepreneurs to utilize social media as a marketing platform, especially through electronic word of mouth (E-WOM), in conveying information about their products and business premises. An effective viral marketing strategy through social media plays an important role in building a brand image that can influence brand trust. This study aims to analyze the influence of social media, E-WOM, and brand image on increasing brand trust. This study was conducted in Bekasi with a descriptive causality research design, using a quantitative approach and purposive sampling technique. The research data were collected from 175 respondents targeting active Instagram users as the general population and Kopi Tuku lovers in Bekasi as the specific population. The conceptual model analysis was conducted using Path Analysis using the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS). The results showed that social media significantly increased E-WOM and brand image. E-WOM was proven to increase brand image and brand trust, while brand image also directly increased brand trust. In addition, social media has a positive influence on brand image and brand trust through E-WOM mediation. This study provides an important contribution for coffee shop entrepreneurs in developing social media-based marketing strategies. By utilizing E-WOM and building a strong brand image, business actors can increase brand trust, which ultimately encourages interest in purchasing products and visits to business premises.

Abstract

This research investigates the economic patterns of expenditure and preferences regarding medicinal plants and chemical drugs by people living around the forest in the working area of the Dolago Tanggunung Forest Management Unit. This research aims to analyze people's economic preferences in the use of medicinal plants and chemical drugs by identifying the types of medicinal plants used, their economic value, and comparison of expenditure between the two types of drugs. This research used the Stratified Random Sampling method with 100 respondents, and data analysis was carried out using the paired t-test and multiple linear regression with the t test to measure the influence of various factors on the frequency of use of medicinal plants. The results of the research show that there are 60 types of medicinal plants from 35 families that are used by the local community. The effectiveness factor (β=0.30, p=0.003) has the strongest influence on the frequency of use of medicinal plants, followed by reasons for use (β=0.15, p=0.035) and the price of chemical drugs (β=-0.25, p=0.007). The high price of chemical drugs encourages people to turn to medicinal plants as an alternative. On the other hand, the level of trust in medicinal plants (p=0.215) did not have a significant effect on the frequency of use. Thus, economic and effectiveness factors are more dominant in determining people's preferences for medicinal plants compared to trust factors. Integration between traditional and modern medicine can be a solution to improve public health in a sustainable manner.

Abstract

Product diversification in agribusiness is an important strategy in increasing farmers' profits and economic stability, especially amidst the challenges of commodity price fluctuations, climate change, and dependence on one type of product. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of product diversification in agribusiness and identify the most appropriate strategy for farmers to increase their profitability and economic resilience. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, this study was conducted in Berastagi , North Sumatra, as one of the areas with a rapidly growing agribusiness sector. Data were collected through observation, interviews, surveys, and literature studies, then analyzed using a thematic approach to understand diversification patterns and their impacts on farmers' economy. The results of the study indicate that the diversification strategies implemented in Berastagi include horizontal diversification (planting various types of commodities), vertical diversification (processing agricultural products into value-added products), and lateral diversification (development of agrotourism and livestock businesses). Diversification has been shown to increase farmers' income, reduce business risks due to price fluctuations, and expand market access. The success of this strategy is influenced by several main factors, namely access to markets, availability of capital, application of technology, and support from the government and related institutions. However, challenges such as limited capital, lack of skills in product processing, market uncertainty, and complex regulations are still obstacles in implementing diversification. Therefore, a more targeted strategy is needed, such as strengthening sustainable agricultural systems, technological innovation in processing and marketing, and collaboration between farmers, the government, and the private sector. The results of this study are expected to provide insight for farmers, policy makers, and agribusiness actors in developing more effective and sustainable diversification strategies, so as to improve farmer welfare and the resilience of the agribusiness sector as a whole.

Abstract

This study examines a company involved in the processing and distribution of clean water for the public in Surabaya. Globalization and climate change are increasingly interconnected, impacting corporate sustainability. Companies must adapt to market demands while maintaining environmental responsibility. This research aims to analyze the relationship between green recruitment and selection, green training and development, green performance assessment, green reward and compensation, and corporate sustainability. The study employs SmartPLS for outer and inner model test analysis. The findings indicate that green recruitment and selection significantly affect green innovation but not corporate sustainability. Green training and development significantly influence green innovation but do not directly impact corporate sustainability. Green performance assessment also has a significant effect on green innovation but not on corporate sustainability. Meanwhile, green reward and compensation do not significantly affect green innovation but have a significant impact on corporate sustainability. Green innovation contributes to corporate sustainability. Furthermore, green recruitment and selection, green training and development, green performance assessment, and green reward and compensation significantly influence green innovation through corporate sustainability as an intervening variable. However, corporate social responsibility does not significantly moderate the relationship between green innovation and corporate sustainability. These findings highlight the need for companies to integrate green human resource practices to enhance innovation and long-term sustainability.

Abstract

The concept of a smart city has emerged as a key paradigm in modern urban management, particularly in enhancing public service efficiency, governance, and environmental sustainability. This study explores the smart city strategy in the urban development of Banjarbaru City, aiming to evaluate the implementation and effectiveness of related policies and technologies that support digital innovation. Employing a qualitative approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews, field observations, and document analysis involving stakeholders such as local governments, academics, and community members. The findings reveal that smart city initiatives in Banjarbaru have positively impacted public service efficiency, especially in digital governance, technology-based transportation, and urban environmental management. Nonetheless, several challenges persist, including inadequate digital infrastructure, limited public technological literacy, and insufficient readiness of human resources to adopt new technologies. Resistance to change and a lack of system integration across sectors further hinder progress. This study recommends enhancing data-driven policy formulation, strengthening technological infrastructure, improving human resource capacity, and fostering collaboration between government, private sectors, and the community to support digital transformation. Moreover, innovative financing models such as public-private partnerships (PPP) and green bonds are proposed as viable strategies to accelerate sustainable smart city development. The study also highlights the need for future research on evaluating the sustainability of smart cities, developing measurable performance indicators, and mitigating risks in urban technological implementation. With an inclusive and innovation-oriented approach, Banjarbaru demonstrates significant potential to become a model smart city that is efficient, sustainable, and adaptive to contemporary urban challenges.
