Abstract

The State Palace of Siak Sri Indrapura, indeed has a lot of priceless cultural heritage objects as a reflection of the glorious history of Malay in the past. In addition to palace relics, there are other historical sites that have no less high historical value, such as the Syahbuddin Mosque, the Tomb of King Kecik, and the Dutch Barracks and many others. The Dutch colonial in historical records as one of the western nations that colonized Indonesia for quite a long time. It is undeniable that the Malay kingdom centered in Siak Sri Indrapura was also the territory of the Dutch at that time. Evidence of the position of the Dutch in the Malay Archipelago is the establishment of a Dutch military barracks located on Jalan Benteng Hulu, Mempura District, Siak Regency. The location of this Dutch barracks is right across from the center of the Siak Sri Indrapura Kingdom which is only separated by the Siak river. Prison is a term for a Dutch building complex whose function was as a place of protection and defense for the Dutch army. In the barracks there are several types of buildings consisting of dormitories, offices, armory, logistics and prisons. Inside the barracks there is also a prison with a size of 2-3 meters with a capacity of 4-8 people, to detain Indigenous people, especially the people of Siak who are against and disobedient to the Dutch Colonial. Now the Dutch prison not only functions as a cultural heritage but is also transformed into a beautiful tourist destination. Concerns began to arise, that in the future the community would only regard the Dutch barracks building as a mere symbol, without trying harder to be curious and learn more about the history behind the establishment of the building. Based on this, the authors are interested in this research as a learning resource of Local History with literacy study and data collection techniques used are observation, literature study and documentation through data analysis based on analysis and comparison of various existing data.

Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic has caused various moral dilemmas. In Indonesia, there is a dilemma of whether to stay at home or go outside for work, whether to study at school or from home, whether to return home or not on holidays for migrants and whether to pray from home or at the place of worship. These various dilemmas can be used as materials or learning sources for students. They can learn to make moral decisions based on factual arguments through value clarification techniques by utilizing information and communication technology. The implementation of this model can provide students with a good learning experience in making a rational moral decision based on the facts revealed by the students’ active participation in online learning. This model can also be applied in other situations when people are faced with various dilemmas.

Abstract

The important thing from ‘Boedi Oetama” is in his body seeds the spirit of nationalism that had emerged, so that they could be seen as the starting point of the national movement. The youth group then founded the Jong Java association, Jong Sumatran Bond, Jong Minahasa, Jong Ambon, Jong Celebes. Subsequently a new association called Jong Indonesia was formed, aimed at realizing the ideals of Indonesian unity on the basis of nationalism. Starting from the spirit of nationalism, the young people continued to struggle to break away from the colonialism of the Dutch East Indies and Japanese governments. The main objective is to realize the unitary state of the Republic of Indonesia. The struggle was finally successful with the statement of independence read by Sukarno-Hatta on August 17, 1945. After the formation of the unitary state of the Republic of Indonesia did not mean that the struggle of the nationalists was over. The unitary state of the Republic of Indonesia must repeatedly face internal undermining carried out by several groups. Starting from the rebellion of the left in 1948; in the 1950s there was an APRA rebellion, an Andi Azis rebellion, an RMS rebellion, a DI / TII rebellion; and the PKI revolt in 1965. The problem that then arises is how can the Republic of Indonesia overcome various rebellions? In this paper we will review the characteristics of rebellion, is there a common thread between one rebellion and another rebellion? Besides that, it will also be discussed whether there are general patterns used to overcome rebellion. The ability to overcome various parties that undermine, would increasingly strengthen the Republic of Indonesia as a sovereign country. Key words: Republic of Indonesia , the rebellion, nationalism
