Abstract

Students are expected to have a clear understanding of their interests and talents as a foundation for determining their career direction. However, many students still cannot fully recognize their potential, which makes it difficult for them to plan their future careers. This study aims to describe the role of career guidance and counseling services in helping students understand and develop their interests and talents. The research employed a descriptive qualitative approach, drawing on relevant national and international journal articles. The findings indicate that career guidance and counseling services play a significant role in helping students identify their potential through mentoring, interest and talent assessments, and the provision of educational and occupational information. These services contribute to deeper self-understanding, enabling students to plan and make career decisions more accurately and realistically. Therefore, the continuous implementation of career guidance and counseling services is essential to support students' optimal career development.

Abstract

Career planning is a crucial indicator of life success, but many high school teenagers face obstacles, such as confusion and low self-understanding, when determining their future. This study aims to examine the influence of self-efficacy on career planning among high school students. The method used is library research with a qualitative approach, synthesizing scientific literature from the years 2015-2025, accessed through academic databases such as Google Scholar and ScienceDirect. The research findings indicate that self-efficacy has a positive and significant impact on career planning, as reported in various previous studies, with contributions ranging from 38.9% to 65.52%. Students with high self-efficacy demonstrate lower levels of career indecision and better job readiness, especially in the context of vocational education. Theoretically, these results reinforce the role of self-efficacy as the primary driver of exploring career options and setting challenging goals. The practical implications of this research emphasize that career guidance programs in schools should shift from merely providing job information to strengthening internal psychological factors through psychoeducational interventions and fostering a supportive learning culture. In conclusion, self-efficacy is a fundamental psychological foundation that enables students to plan and prepare themselves to face the workforce more maturely.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of digital media in enhancing student engagement and career readiness in career guidance and counseling services. This research employs a qualitative method based on a literature review. The literature used is derived from scientific journals and relevant articles discussing the utilization of digital technology in career guidance services. The data collection process involved a systematic search of Google Scholar using keywords aligned with the study's focus. The data were analyzed by identifying, classifying, and synthesizing the main themes that emerged from the systematically reviewed literature. The results indicate that the use of digital media, such as instructional videos, online service platforms, and game-based learning media, consistently increases student engagement, motivation, and active participation in career guidance services. The use of digital media facilitates easier access to information, offers flexibility in time and place, and creates a more interactive and engaging service environment. These conditions enable students to obtain broader, more in-depth career information, thereby supporting the tailored improvement of career readiness for each student's needs and characteristics. The use of digital media by school counselors can serve as an innovative and adaptive strategy to improve the quality of career guidance services in schools. The appropriate selection and use of digital media are expected to help students better prepare to meet the evolving dynamics and demands of the labor market.

Abstract

In an era marked by globalization and increasingly fierce business competition, the company's image has become a strategic asset that significantly affects the trust of customers, business partners, and the wider community. PT Toyota Astra Motor as a leading player in the automotive industry is not immune to reputational risks that may arise from a crisis situation. One notable example is the case of airbag recalls, which poses a serious challenge to the company's public image. This study aims to analyze the image restoration strategy implemented by PT Toyota Astra Motor Indonesia in response to the airbag recall crisis. This research is based on the concepts of communication and public relations, with a special focus on William L. Benoit's Image Restoration Theory. This study emphasizes the role of public relations (PR) in managing crisis communication and mitigating reputational damage. Adopting a qualitative approach, data is collected through various communication channels, including mass media coverage, the company's official website, and exclusive interviews featured on Toyota's official YouTube platform. The findings reveal that PT Toyota Astra Motor uses a proactive, transparent, and strategic PR approach in overcoming the crisis. The company actively engages with mass media and digital platforms, collaborates with credible automotive experts, openly acknowledges these issues, and provides clear and consistent information while encouraging public dialogue. This comprehensive response was positively received by the public, showing that the PR strategy implemented was effective in rebuilding trust and restoring the company's image. The study highlights that transparency, accountability, and active stakeholder engagement are critical components of successful crisis management and can serve as a practical model for organizations facing similar challenges.

Abstract

This study examines the impact of Interactive Flat Panel Displays (IFPDs) on students’ engagement and learning motivation in elementary education at SDN 1 Sempu. Student engagement and motivation are important aspects of the learning process, particularly at the elementary school level, where meaningful and interactive learning experiences can support students’ active participation and deeper understanding. The integration of interactive technology such as IFPDs plays a strategic role in creating engaging and student-centered learning environments by combining multimedia content, touchscreen interaction, and collaborative activities. The objective of this study was to explore how the use of IFPDs influences students’ behavioral and cognitive engagement as well as their learning motivation in classroom settings. This study employed a qualitative case study approach using classroom observations, semi-structured interviews, and documentation to collect data. The participants included elementary school teachers and students at SDN 1 Sempu who had experience using IFPDs in classroom instruction. The findings revealed that the use of IFPDs enhanced students’ learning experiences through three main aspects: increased behavioral engagement during interactive activities, improved cognitive engagement through visual and interactive learning materials, and strengthened learning motivation characterized by enthusiasm and active participation. Students were more involved in touchscreen-based activities, group discussions, and interactive quizzes, which helped them focus on learning tasks and understand the material more effectively. However, the findings also indicated that the effectiveness of IFPDs depended on teacher facilitation and pedagogical integration. Teachers who designed interactive and student-centered activities were able to maximize the benefits of IFPDs, while limited technical skills and preparation time sometimes became challenges in implementation. Overall, the study concludes that the integration of IFPDs can significantly enhance student engagement and learning motivation when supported by effective teaching strategies and adequate teacher preparation. The findings contribute to the understanding of technology integration in elementary education and provide practical insights for teachers and schools in optimizing the use of interactive digital technologies in classroom learning.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the effect of using digital games based on an Interactive Flat Panel Display (IFPD) with the application of cognitive scaffolding on early literacy and numeracy at Mutiara Hati Kindergarten. The research employed a qualitative case study approach involving the principal, teachers, and parents as subjects. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews and classroom observations and were then analyzed thematically. The results showed that the use of IFPD increased children’s interest, focus, and engagement in literacy and numeracy activities. The implementation of cognitive scaffolding by teachers was proven to help children understand letters, words, numbers, and simple operations more effectively. The children also demonstrated improved literacy and numeracy skills, both in the classroom and at home. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that the integration of interactive digital games and teacher scaffolding effectively enhances early literacy and numeracy. This study provides implications for teachers and schools to optimize the use of interactive digital media in early childhood learning.
