Abstract

The development of educational tourism is an urgent matter; many sectors of life are automatic will play a role. Educational tourism is developing, so from an economic point of view, the community's economy will also increase. The local population, the majority of whom are farmers, is very important for playing an active role in the development of educational tourism to benefit and impact farmers to improve their welfare. This research aims to describe how the evaluation of educational tourism activities in the Madiun district. This research method is qualitative with a case study approach. The results showed that farmers participated in the development of educational tourism, starting from the planning stage to the evaluation. The success of community-based educational tourism development in Madiun Regency is inseparable from promotion and development society, both from the ecological, economic, socio-cultural, and political aspects

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of bay leaf ethanol extract on the histopathological picture of the kidneys of rats induced by doxorubicin. To determine the administration of bay leaf ethanol extract is more effective in protecting the heart than the positive control (Vitamin E). The bay leaves used were obtained from the Harjosari II Medan Amplas area of Medan city. The independent variable in this study was Salam Leaf Ethanol Extract, while the dependent variable was kidney histopathology. This research was conducted at the Pharmacology and Toxicology Laboratory of the Faculty of Pharmacy, University of North Sumatra. The results showed that the administration of vitamin E together with doxorubicin showed a better renal histopathological picture. Vitamin E as a basic antioxidant is able to reduce the damage caused by doxorubicin which is seen in the absence of widening in the Bowman capsule.

Abstract

Application of agroforestry systems in Indonesia through production forest programs in Java. Impact on the use of the production forest land. This research aims to present a variety of positive and negative effects on the use of production forest land for agricultural production in agroforestry systems. Agroforestry activities certainly have both positive and negative impacts on the primary production of forestry, the environment, and the income of communities living around the forest. Positive effects include: Increasing land productivity/value-added, accelerating the growth of primary production, providing short and medium-term income, reducing the risk of forest fires ,Opening up forest fires.Employment opportunities, Improving the environment and biodiversity, reducing global warming, producing dry leaf mulch, and increasing people's income. The negative impact of agroforestry patterns is the tendency of agroforestry farmers to extend the farming time by disrupting primary production

Abstract

Solid waste produced by oil palm mills consists of oil palm empty bunches, shells, fibers and sludge. Oil palm empty fruit bunches contain 40 percent of cellulose, 24 percent of hemicellulose, 21 percent of lignin, and 15 percent of ash. This study aims to determine the production and the income potential of oyster mushrooms by using oil palm empty fruit bunches as a growth medium. This research is a quantitative descriptive study using an experimental design approach. Analysis of variance showed that all treatments had no significant effect on the length of mycelium fulfillment, the length of the mushroom stalk, the diameter of the fruit cap and the wet weight of the fungus. Treatment with K0 without empty fruit bunches of oil palm has the same growth and production potential as treatment of K1-K4 using oil palm empty fruit bunches. Fungal growth and production are influenced by environmental, nutritional and genetic factors. The potential production of oyster mushrooms with wood sawdust and 15 baglog empty fruit bunches growing media is 5.2 kilograms with a total cost of IDR 297,250. The total revenue for twice harvests for each baglog is IDR 312,000. Therefore, to support the potential for growth and production of oyster mushrooms, oil palm empty fruit bunches can be used as a medium for growing oyster mushrooms because they have the potential for income to be used as a business.

Abstract

One source of organic fertilizer that is abundantly available in the environment is urine from humans. Urine is believed to affect the quality of the soil as a plant growing media. In addition, fertilizers are processed from stale rice waste too widely used by farmers in increasing crop productivity. In general, this research was conducted to produce liquid organic fertilizer made from waste rice and human urine. In particular this research implemented to determine the length of fermentation of liquid organic fertilizer made from the best waste of rice and human urine based on chemical content analysis (nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium) and look for the concentration of waste rice and urine humans are good for fertilization. The stage of this research methodology began by performing a liquid organic fertilizer formulation made from rice waste human urine is added and stored in a closed container for 4, 6, and 8 days then chemical analysis was carried out. The result show that the longer the fermentation of liquid organic fertilizer, the higher the content of N, P, and K produced. The 8-day fermentation time with a human urine concentration of 250 ml produced the best content with a nitrogen content of 3.17%, a phosphorus content of 2.68%, and a potassium content of 3.48%. Therefore, it is expected that the use of stale rice waste with the addition of human urine as a source of liquid organic fertilizer which is abundant in everyday life is easier to apply by the community and can contribute to entrepreneurship.

Abstract

District Labuhanbatu selatan has natural/artificial inland waters for various usages. For example, freshwater has supported various activities such as agriculture, plantations, inland fisheries, and ecotourism. This study reports the presence of invasive mollusk in freshwater (Melanoides tuberculata) and terrestrial (Achatina fulica) habitats. This study is the first report regarding the spatial distribution of the three invasive mollusk species in the inland waters of District Labuhanbatu selatan. These invasive mollusks species are a severe threat to the preservation of native species and human health because they are an intermediate host for several types of parasites, such as the trematode group. The spreading and rapid development of these invasive mollusks is caused by their reproductive ability and resistance to poor environmental quality and airborne dispersal factors by birds, water flow, and commercial activities. This invasive species can directly cause huge economic losses as they become a pest inagricultural activities, plantations, and freshwater fisheries (aquaculture). They also can transmit pathogens and displacement of native species. Therefore, it is recommended to have a preventive effort to tackle the expansion of in District Labuhanbatu selatan.
