Abstract

Education is a process carried out consciously or deliberately in order to increase knowledge, insight and experience to determine life goals so that they can have a broad view towards a better future and with education itself can create quality human beings. Like Western theory, educators in Islam are people who are responsible for the development of students by trying to develop all students' potential, both affective (feelings), cognitive (creativity), and psychomotor potential (intentions). Education is a cultural process to improve human dignity that lasts throughout life. Education is always developing, and is always faced with changing times. That is the cycle of development of changes in education, otherwise education will be left behind by the rapid changes of the times. For this reason, changes in education must be relevant to changing times and the needs of society at that time, so it is important to plan as early as possible which can be stated in the Vision, Mission, Goals and Functions of Islamic Education.

Abstract

Dryland management with an agroforestry system is essential and urgent. Currently, the existence of forests has experienced pressure on forest areas and forest resources, which threatens the integrity of forest areas due to the increase in land area, which is categorized as dry. This research aims to determine the size of dry land and the dominant factors that drive the damage rate. This research aims to analyze agroforestry systems with cropping patterns on dry land. This research uses survey, analysis, and needs analysis methods of decent living. Results The agroforestry system used to develop critical land is a human effort to control its reciprocal relationship with natural resources, with the hope that expanding the use of dry land by implementing a directed and planned agroforestry system for the people can improve the economy of the people around the primary forest which is based on forest products. The development of dry land management with an agroforestry system in community forest areas as a result of reforestation and forest development project activities from an institutional aspect is also able to foster farmer innovation in increasing the productivity of their land, one of which is the success of building community forests as a group on marginal land.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to determine the supply chain losses caused by fluctuations in the selling price of Fresh Fruit Bunches (FFB).  The method used is to conduct direct surveys with palm oil Fresh Fruit Bunch (FFB) traders and end consumers at Palm Oil Mills in nine sub-districts in Labuhanbatu Regency.  The planned number of samples to be interviewed is 800 respondents, consisting of 784 Collecting Traders and 16 SMEs, with a total of 256 respondents successfully interviewed.  The research results explain the factors influencing the fluctuation of TBS purchase prices at the supplier level, namely the lack of transparency in TBS selling prices from Palm Oil Mills to traders and from traders to farmers.  The findings also suggest that the local government should establish a special institution that can provide information on palm oil prices released by the government through the North Sumatra industry office. In addition, we recommend that the North Sumatra government involve district governments and other stakeholders in the context of the triple helix in sustainable development, considering the imbalanced needs and productivity in implementing national strategic programs.  The next research question is about the sustainability of small-scale oil palm farmers, considering the continuous growth of oil palm.  Policymakers in key stakeholder institutions need to design strategies to manage global disruptions in palm oil trade, particularly by involving farmers in national strategic programs, one of which focuses on concentrating development on palm oil downstreaming.

Abstract

Motivating workers through the use of rewards and punishments, the management control system places an emphasis on output. Any decent employee will follow the rules set out by their employer and will push for their coworkers to do the same. Finding out whether company rewards and punishments have an effect on employee performance in a State-Owned Enterprise is the main objective of this study. Quantitative studies employ non-probability purposive sampling and associative causality studies. With the aid of SmartPLS, descriptive statistics were applied to 100 questionnaires. All of the study's variables were found to have a positive and statistically significant effect. With a t-statistic value of 4.218, employees believe that the company's performance reviews can positively affect their pay, benefits, and advancement opportunities. The company's punisment motivate employees to perform well in order to avoid pay cuts and promotion delays (t-statistic value 4.861). When workers' expectations regarding company assessments and reward are satisfied, their performance improves (t-statistic value 3.900). Therefore, it is reasonable to assume that, with proper implementation of evaluation and sanctions, staff performance will improve. While punishments are the most powerful incentive for improving performance, this study's original finding is that positive reinforcement in the form of awards can inspire loyalty and good conduct.
