Abstract

Sorghum, a drought-resistant cereal crop, has great potential to support food security in North Sumatra. To optimize its utilization, identification and characterization of local sorghum varieties are needed. Identification of local sorghum plants is an important step in efforts to optimize the utilization of plants that are useful for helping to document and preserve biodiversity, can help reveal hidden potential, so that superior varieties can be developed. Farmers can choose the varieties that best suit their agronomic conditions and needs so that they can help open up new opportunities for product development and downstreaming of sorghum, thereby increasing its economic value. By developing and utilizing local sorghum varieties, Indonesia can reduce dependence on food imports and strengthen its food sovereignty Data collection was carried out from August to December 2022 in several regencies/cities in North Sumatra based on information sources from the agricultural service, farmer groups and communities who know about sorghum cultivation. This study aims to collect soil samples in sorghum plantations in various regions in North Sumatra. The soil nutrients in local sorghum growing locations vary, in terms of soil pH content, almost all locations fall into the acid criteria, the soil N content falls into the low criteria, and the soil P content is very low.

Abstract

Building contracting is an act in which one party gives work to another party as a contractor to complete a building. Obstacles in practice in the field often occur so that there is a discrepancy in the agreement that has been agreed between the parties. To protect the parties, a building contracting agreement is needed so that there is a binding between the two parties. If one party cannot fulfill the performance (default) according to the agreed agreement, then the party who does not receive the performance from the other party can file an objection or even a lawsuit in court if no peace is reached between the parties. A contracting agreement is a reciprocal agreement between rights and obligations, in which there is an agreement between one party, namely the contractor, who binds himself to carry out the work, while the other party who contracts, binds himself to pay a predetermined price. With research that uses a normative legal approach, this study aims to determine the legal consequences of default for contractors in a house building contracting agreement.

Abstract

Market manipulation is a phenomenon that harms market integrity and investor confidence, so a comprehensive legal protection mechanism is needed. The study aims to analyze legal arrangements related to the practice of market manipulation and identify the forms of legal protection available to investors who become victims of manipulation. Using the normative legal research method, this study relies on the analysis of primary, secondary, and tertiary legal materials to examine the formal juridical aspects of the problem. The results show that market manipulation is an act of creating a false picture of trading activity or securities prices on the exchange, which is carried out by certain parties to influence securities prices or disseminate inaccurate and misleading information. Legal protection of investors can be pursued through two main approaches: preventive protection in the form of investor education and transaction supervision by the Financial Services Authority (OJK), and repressive protection which includes litigation, non-litigation dispute resolution mechanisms, and the application of sanctions against market manipulation perpetrators.

Abstract

The Indonesian capital market as one of the strategic economic instruments plays an important role in collecting public funds to support national economic growth. However, in its development, insider trading practices are still a serious threat to market integrity, especially detrimental to minority shareholders who own less than five percent of the company's total shares. Insider trading practices occur when parties within the company utilize material information that has not been published to conduct stock transactions, thereby creating systematic information injustice. This study aims to analyze the vulnerability of minority shareholders to insider trading practices and examine the effectiveness of available legal protection mechanisms. The research method used is normative legal research with a statutory and conceptual approach, analyzing Law Number 8 of 1995 concerning the Capital Market, UUPT, and other related regulations. The results of the study indicate that minority shareholders face structural vulnerability due to limited access to information, imbalance of power in corporate decision-making, and minimal understanding of their rights. Insider trading practices harm them through direct financial losses, decreased trust in the market, and the creation of an unfair market. Available legal protection mechanisms include the BEI Auto Rejection system, civil lawsuits based on Article 111 of the Capital Market Law, the active role of the OJK in defending consumers, and various special rights of minority shareholders in the UUPT. This study concludes that effective protection requires an integrated approach that combines preventive and repressive protection, strengthening investor education, and the application of progressive legal principles that prioritize justice and the welfare of minority shareholders.

Abstract

This study investigated how exposure to negative information influenced consumer trust and repurchase intention within Indonesia’s traditional medicine market. By integrating the Theory of Planned Behavior with Trust Deterioration Models, the research addressed a critical gap concerning the impact of adverse digital narratives on culturally embedded health products. A quantitative, cross-sectional design was employed using an online survey that collected 207 valid responses from traditional medicine users across Indonesia. Data were analyzed using Descriptive analysis and Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) to evaluate both measurement and structural models. Results showed that negative information significantly undermined trust in traditional medicine, which in turn reduced consumers’ intention to repurchase. The strongest effects emerged from the perceived credibility and virality of negative news, which heightened risk perception and skepticism toward product quality, brand integrity, and regulatory oversight. Trust was found to partially mediate the relationship between negative information and repurchase intention, highlighting its central role as both a psychological enabler and a vulnerability point in consumer behavior. These findings provided substantial implications for producers, regulators, and marketers in preserving consumer confidence, suggesting the urgent need for reputation management strategies and transparent communication to counteract digital skepticism in emerging markets.
