Abstract

Developments in the field of materials, especially the use of polymers as basic materials, are growing, this is because it meets human needs in improving welfare by processing a basic material into a material that can be used. Synthetic materials such as polymers are widely used in the manufacture of materials combined with other materials. So that it can create new materials either by adding natural fibers or synthetic fibers. Composites can be arranged using natural fibers, such as jute fibers then combined with woven roving. Jute fiber is an organic waste that is widely obtained as a burlap sack hole in traditional markets. Synthetic fibers or artificial fibers have advantages such as strong, corrosion and heat resistant fibers and are easy to mass produce. Making composites can be done several methods, one of which is using the vacuum bagging method with a technique of using pressure to direct the resin to the fibers. The researcher's goal is to determine the characteristics of tensile tests and bending tests using vaccum bagging. There are also tests carried out in the form of tensile tests that refer to the ASTM D638 standard variations of natural and synthetic fiber specimens (hybrid) In the form of yield values of 62.94 Mpa and tensil 85.9. Non-hybrid fibers can be yielded at 28.7 Mpa and tensile at 32.9 Mpa. While the bending test. In hybrid fibers, bending strength is obtained with a value of 1,126.96 MPa. In non-hybrid fibers, bending strength results were obtained with a value of 643.30 Mpa.

Abstract

The low level of accuracy and precision in the process target tracking by military causing casualties because of shooting error. Shooting error can be due because of human-error like fatigue. Therefore, this study aims to design a system that can detect and lock target automatically so that shooting errors can be minimized. On the implementation, the system uses color detection, which is a part of the digital image processing method. The target image, which has been recorded by a webcam, will be processed by a Raspberry Pi 3b+ using Python and the OpenCV library. Research results shown the ARO-GUN system can perform precise detection on a predetermined target with 100% accuracy of target detection also capable of accurately detecting the target in the light intensity range of 750-1000 lux. Therefore, the ARO-GUN system has been able to meet the design goal to detect accurately so it’s can minimize shooting errors.

Abstract

The creation of this final project project can turn on and off the lights using the internet network. The internet is an extensive network that can be accessed by anyone and anywhere. In this Final Project, the lamp control application used is an application that is very common in society, namely telegram. By using the telegram bot we can connect with the module used for the light controller. With this remote light control tool, we can turn the lights off or on even from abroad. Only by using our smartphones, we can do this under any circumstances. We can also check the status of the lamp we control whether it is on or is in a dead state.The results of the design of lamp control via Telegram using components in the form of lights, relays, NodeMCU ESP8266 modules. After programming the NodeMCU ESP8266 module, in the design of this tool, the following components were obtained, namely 20 watts 4 lamps, 4 channel 1 relays, ESP8266 NodeMCU Modules with a maximum input of 12 volts.

Abstract

In developing countries the necessity and the possibilities to manufacture machines locally are inc!easing. Often be necessary equipment, machines, material and the skilled labour as well as technical staff are available, but what is missing is the information and the know-how. One category of machines used to harness walet power and which can be produced locally, are water turbines. In some countries there is an established tradition in the production, installing and running of small water mills. Often these are units with simple vertical axis wheels or are large water wheels. For example, one country with experience on vertical axis water wheels.This research summarizes the simple calculations for designing a Pelton turbine with a head of water falling of 1130 m, with a discharge of Q = 28.5 m3/s, so that based on the calculations, a power of P = 288 MW is obtained.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of temperature on the solid carburizing on increasing the hardness value of ST37 steel. This solid carburizing uses temperature variations of 9000C, 10000C and 11000C, with a holding time of 30 minutes. The material used is a mixture of CaCO3 and coconut shell charcoal with mineral water as a cooling medium. The test carried out was the Rockwell hardness test which was carried out in the Mechanical Engineering Materials Testing Lab of Politeknik Negeri Ketapang. From the test results for ST37 steel, the average hardness obtained in the raw material = 48.3 HRB, then in each carbonation treatment at a temperature of 9000C = 48.6 HRB, a temperature of 10000C = 48.9 HRB, a temperature of 11000C = 49.1 HRB. Carburized steel plates with a temperature of 9000C, 10000C and 11000C the test results are harder than the raw material.

Abstract

The ever-growing and increasingly sophisticated weapons technology has led countries to continue to develop automated weapons. Since manual control of the movement and position of the weapon is very difficult to obtain a high degree of accuracy, inaccuracies in firing can cause fatalities. In order to minimize errors and inaccuracies in shooting and facilitate military performance in the use of weapons, automatic weapon drives are required. In this study, a product called ARO-GUN was developed to perform target locking and firing using an MG996R servo-type DC motor. This ARO-GUN product is based on testing when locking and firing has an X-axis accuracy of 98.51% and an average error rate of 1.50% and an average Y-axis accuracy of 97.97% and an average error rate of 1.94%. Based on research and testing, it can be inferred that the ARO-GUN product firing system can facilitate military performance in the use of weapons and minimize fatalities due to errors and inaccuracies in firing.

Abstract

Existing mobile weapon technologies can endanger its user because of the need to use direct control, while also having a heavy mass that can slow down movement speed. In this study, a product called ARO-GUN is developed to have multiple functions, which are accurately shot targets, remotely controlled, utilizes hand gestures, also having a light mass. Testing is done by looking at the accuracy of the angle, speed, and response time so that the percentage of error can be seen based on predetermined parameters. The test results shown that there are errors in each tests, namely 1.89% for the accuracy of the hand gesture sensor, 18.98% for the transceiver response time, 10.75% for the rotational speed, and 17.92% for the response to the movement of the weapon.Based on study results, it can be concluded that ARO-GUN product can be operated as a mobile weapon by utilizing hand gestures for controlling its movement direction with maximum distance of 18 meter. Beside that, ARO-GUN has a speed of 300 rpm and a mass of 4.30 Kg, which is lighter than most mobile weapon technologies.

Abstract

The Sukoharjo sub-district is one of the sub-districts in the city center, but the income of the population who are farm laborers reaches 1,485 people, and the others reach 1,883 people. In this village there are also 44 small industries engaged in the production of snacks. One of these small industries has formed a joint business group called KUBE "Sari Enak" which is currently still growing. This research was carried out by applying a dryer application aiming to provide an appropriate technology that is easy, cheap and efficient for the community. The method used in the application of this tool is the application of a rambak dryer and the provision of materials/theories regarding the technology of the rambak dryer. The results of community service activities in the form of this dryer application can save processing time in the process of drying sea fish crackers. In addition to keeping the marine fish crackers hygienic from the start of the production process to drying. So that with this tool cleanliness and hygiene are maintained.

Abstract

Currently, the process of roasting peanuts in the North Tapanuli Regency area is still done manually. This will result in fatigue for the operator. To improve this condition, a roasting machine is needed to facilitate the roasting process. The peanut roaster machine that was designed in this study has a roasting tube as the main component with an electric motor as the prime mover. In addition there is a shaft, gearbox stirrer and clutch. The results of this design obtained power of prime mover and tube rotation of 1/2 hp and 28 rpm. The machine use a ceramic gas stove as heater. The experimental results show the machine can operate properly. The time needed to roast 10 kg of peanuts is 1 hour. BEP units obtained as much as 810 kg. The maintenance is carried out by cleaning and providing lubricant especially on the gearbox.
