Abstract

Currently, the process of roasting peanuts in the North Tapanuli Regency area is still done manually. This will result in fatigue for the operator. To improve this condition, a roasting machine is needed to facilitate the roasting process. The peanut roaster machine that was designed in this study has a roasting tube as the main component with an electric motor as the prime mover. In addition there is a shaft, gearbox stirrer and clutch. The results of this design obtained power of prime mover and tube rotation of 1/2 hp and 28 rpm. The machine use a ceramic gas stove as heater. The experimental results show the machine can operate properly. The time needed to roast 10 kg of peanuts is 1 hour. BEP units obtained as much as 810 kg. The maintenance is carried out by cleaning and providing lubricant especially on the gearbox.

Abstract

Currently, ruminant livestock, poultry and fish are increasingly using processed feed. It occurs due to the nutritional content can be adjusted to the needs. A lot of livestock will require a lot of feed, so a tool is needed that can mass produce the required feed. This processed feed is a mixture of several components that can be purchased individually. A motorized mixer is needed to save time and energy while reducing costs. The existing mixer has several shortcomings, such as the absence of a water supply device, a mixture that cannot be poured and a mixing spoon in the form of a flat plate so that the splint is less strong and the mixing process tends to be longer. The resulting prototype has a water supply pump, a pourable mixture, and an elbow-shaped agitator. Observations of the experimental results showed that the agitator material could move more toward the end so that the mixing process was faster. The mixed material became homogeneous in 5 minutes and perfect in the 10th minute for all experiments conducted.

Abstract

Local breed chicken farming is one of the businesses that is still quite promising to be run today, including by service partners who live in Bandar Khalipah Village, Percut Sei Tuan District, Deli Serdang Regency, who currently raise 300 chickens. The price of its DOC is still relatively high for local breed chicken with prices ranging from Rp. 9,000,- per head, and partners always buy DOC every time they enlarge. There is potential for business development from selling DOC chickens, but it is hampered because partners do not yet have egg incubator machines. The gross profit obtained from the sale local breed chickens is still around 20 percent. Partners who do not have their own egg incubator machines are a problem currently being faced by partners, so the proposing team offers a solution in the form of designing an automatic egg incubator machine and training in its operation to overcome this problem. The donated machine is capable of incubating 300 eggs for each process.

Abstract

Ikan lele (clarias sp.) yang dalam bahasa inggrisnya dinamai dengan catfish banyak dibudidayakan di indonesia karena peminatnya cukup banyak. Sistem pembudidayaannya tidak selalu sama, bergantung pada kondisi iklim dan topografi suatu daerah, selain itu juga sangat bergantung pada ketersediaan pakan, karena umumnya ikan lelemempunyai tabiat rakus dimana ikan ini memakan secara terus menerus pakan yang diberikan. Junita Paulina Tarigan, mitra pengabdian yang sebelum masa pandemi mengelola 10 kolam ikan lele saat ini hanya menternakkan ikan dalam 4 kolam saja antara lain karena harga pakan tersebut. Meski permintaan ikan lele selalu ada, mangingat margin yang didapat kecil banyak peternak lele di desa Namo Bintang memilih untuk berhenti membudidayakan ikan lele. Karena tim pengusul melihat bahwa akar masalahnya ada di harga pakan, solusi yang ditawarkan berupa mesin pencetak pelet ikan lele untuk memberdayakan peternak lele di desa Namo Bintang.
