Abstract

Learning using a scientific approach is ideally accompanied by the activeness of students and students' interest in reading, with active and direct participation of students in learning is able to increase students' understanding of learning material, this will later be in line with the achievement of student learning outcomes, but in reality there are still many students who have scores below the Minimum Completeness Criteria (KKM). The purpose of this study was to find out whether there was an effect of the Learning Start With A Question learning model on digestive system material on the learning outcomes of Class VIII science students at SMP N 29 Padang. This type of research is using quasi-experimental design (Quasi Experimental Design). The research design was the Pretest-Posttest Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The sample selection technique in this study was a purposive sampling technique. The subjects in the study consisted of two sample classes, namely the control class and the experimental class which consisted of 32 people in each class. The results showed that there was an influence of the Learning Starts With a Question (LSQ) Learning Model at SMP N 29 Padang which had an effect on students' science learning outcomes in the cognitive domain, this can be seen from the results of the hypothesis test where tcount > ttable means tcount 2,19 > 1 .67 which indicates that H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted, and there is an influence that the Learning Starts With a Question (LSQ) Learning Model at SMP N 29 Padang has an effect on students' natural science learning outcomes in the cognitive domain, as well as affective assessment of the four aspects of class the experimental sample has an average score that is higher compared to the control class so that it can be concluded that the LSQ model affects the academic achievement of students in the affective domain.

Abstract

The low competence of knowledge can arise due to factors that influence learning, namely the method factors used during the learning process in class, the use of learning models that are less varied, and the enthusiasm of students in learning is still low. One learning model that can be tried to be applied to overcome this problem is the STEM-based Project-based learning model. This research is a type of quasy experiment research that aims to determine the effect of the application of STEM-based project-based learning models on the knowledge competence of class VII students of SMPN 8 Payakumbuh. The research design used was a non equivalent control group design. In the experimental class, STEM-based Project Based Learning was applied, while in the control class, conventional learning was applied. The results of hypothesis testing based on the data obtained in the posttest data research, namely H1 is accepted and H0 is rejected, it can be interpreted that there is a significant average difference in the learning outcomes of students in the experimental class and the control class. So that there is an influence of the project based learning learning model on the knowledge competence of students

Abstract

This research purpose to produce an integrated science e-LKPD based on guided inquiry on temperature and heat material for class VII SMP/MTs. The researchtype used is research an development (R&D) with a plomp development model. The prototype was generated through a validity test by three validators, namely three science education FMIPA UNP. The practicality test was conducted on two science teachers and students at SMPN 1 Padang Ganting. The results of the assessment for the e-LKPD validity test obtained a value of 0,78 in the category was valid, while the practicality test by the teacher obtained a value of 1,00 in the category was very practical, and the test of practicality by students obtained a value of 0,90 in the category was very practical.

Abstract

Based on the results of the analysis that has been carried out, the data obtained shows that the teaching materials used in schools have not been able to support learning optimally. Students prefer if the teaching materials used are equipped with attractive images, use language that is easy to understand, the material presented is brief, concise, and clear, has work instructions for each activity, is equipped with videos, and practice questions. This type of research is Research and Development (R&D) with the ADDIE development model which consists of the stages of analysis, design, and development. The research instrument consists of a needs analysis questionnaire, validity test questionnaire, and practicality test questionnaire. The data obtained were analyzed using the Likert Scale formula to analyze the results of validity and practicality tests. Based on the results of the research conducted, it was found that the results of the e-module validity test by experts or lecturers were declared very valid with a percentage of 89%, the results of the practicality test by science teachers were declared very practical with a percentage of 94%, the results of the practicality test by students were in the practical category with a percentage of 79%.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the feasibility of a science literacy test instrument based on content validity, item validity, reliability, level of difficulty, discrimination power, and effectiveness of distractor options, as well as teacher responses to the developed test instrument. The research and development of this test instrument used the ADDIE model which consists of 5 stages, namely analyze, design, develop, implement, and evaluate. The study was conducted at SMP Negeri 8 Medan through 2 stages of product trials, namely small group trials with 10 test participants from grades VIII-9, and large group trials with 30 test participants from grades VIII-8. The results of content validity based on the assessment of 5 validators, 25 questions were declared valid and suitable for use. Based on the small group trial, 20 questions (80%) were declared suitable for use and 5 questions (20%) were not suitable for use. In the large group trial, the results of the item validity of 20 questions (100%) were declared valid. The reliability value of the instrument was 0.735 with a high reliability interpretation. Based on the level of difficulty, 20 questions (100%) were obtained with moderate criteria, based on the discrimination power, 6 questions (30%) were obtained with good criteria and 14 questions (70%) with sufficient criteria, based on the effectiveness of distractor options, 20 questions (100%) were obtained with very effective criteria. The teacher's response to the developed test instrument obtained an average value of 89.90% with very good criteria. Based on the results of the data analysis, 20 questions on the developed science literacy test instrument were feasible to use and could measure students' science literacy levels.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the implementation of ethnoscience integrated phenomenon-based learning on students’ scientific literacy on temperature, heat and expansion material. This type of research is a quasi experiment with two-group pretest-posttest design. The population of this study was all grade VII students of SMP Negeri 18 Medan consisting of 352 students. The research sample was taken by simple random sampling technique consisting of two classes, namely class VII-1 as an experimental class and class VII-5 as a control class, each class consisting of 32 students. The research instrument is a multiple-choice test with four options to measure scientific literacy. Data analysis using independent sample t-test and normalized-gain tests (N-gain). Based on the result of the independent sample t-test, it was found that the sig. value is 0.00 which is less than 0.05. The percentage increase in N-gain in scientific literacy in the experimental class was 74% (high category) and in the control class was 41% (medium category). Based on statistical data, it can be concluded that there is an effect of the application of ethnoscience integrated phenomenon-based learning on students' scientific literacy skill on temperature, heat and expansion material.
