Abstract

The hijab is a type of clothing used to cover the private parts of Muslim women. The legal hijab is certain or absolute for adult women who believe in wearing it. Allah SWT's command regarding Muslim women wearing the hijab is found in the QS. Al-Ahzab verse 59. This research aims to analyze the texts of the Qur'an regarding the book Al Jami' li Ahkaam Al Qur'an by Shaykh Imam Al Qurthubi from the Malikiyyah group, the book Ahkam Al Qur'an by al-Kiya al-Harasi from the Syafi'iyyah group, and the book Ahkam Al Qur'an by al-Jassas from the Hanafiyah group, which relates to the hijab for Muslim women. The research method used is a literature study carried out by collecting library data, reading and taking notes, as well as managing research materials regarding journal contents related to hijab laws for Muslim women. The style of interpretation uses tafsir ahkam (interpretation of legal verses). In the book Al Jami' li Ahkaam Al Qur'an by Sheikh Imam Al Qurthubi, it is explained that Allah SWT ordered women to wear the hijab according to sharia, starting with the wives of the Prophet and his daughters. The book also explains the commandment for free women to wear the hijab to distinguish them from slave women. Allah SWT also ordered them to stretch their hijab, meaning they should cover their heads and faces so that they are recognized as free women. This is so that they are more easily recognized, so that they are not disturbed, meaning to be recognized as women who maintain their honor, guard themselves, and always try to protect their genitals. The book Ahkam Al Qur'an by al-Kiya al-Harasi explains that the hijab is a cloak, Allah commands Muslim women to cover their faces and heads. However, this is not obligatory for slave women. The book Ahkam Al Qur'an by al-Jassas explains that Allah commands believing women to cover their entire bodies. This would make it more likely that they were free women and would not be harmed. Slave women were not ordered to cover their heads and faces. After reviewing three books used as references: "Al Jami' li Ahkaam Al Qur'an" by Sheikh Imam Al-Qurtubi, "Ahkam Al Qur'an" by al-Kiya al-Harasi, and "Ahkam Al Qur'an" by al-Jassas, the conclusion is that wearing the hijab is obligatory for all Muslim women.

Abstract

Polygamy (taʿaddud az-zaujāt) is a controversial issue in Muslim society, both from a social perspective and within Islamic law. Although this practice has a basis in the Qur'an, particularly Surah An-Nisa': 3 and Surah An-Nisa': 129, its interpretation continues to spark debate between classical exegetes and contemporary thinkers. The dominant critique of this verse tends to be literal and legal-formal, legitimizing polygamy as a form of absolute permissibility, without delving deeper into the meaning of the Qur'an's requirements for justice. As a result, the practice of polygamy in society often leads to gender injustice, unequal marital relations, and psychological and social burdens for women and children. The purpose of this study is to analyze the rationale of classical and modern exegetes regarding the differing legal views on polygamy and to evaluate the construction of classical normative thought to make it more holistic, empathetic, and in line with contemporary realities and the values of the maqasid sharia (the principles of Islamic law) in marriage. This study is a library research study using a descriptive analytical comparative method between classical and contemporary interpretations through a qualitative and social contextual approach. The results of this study indicate three differing views of commentators regarding the law of polygamy, each with its arguments: one group holds that polygamy is an absolute recommendation; the other holds that the recommendation is a conditional emergency; and the third rejects polygamy and even discourages it due to its numerous harms. Monogamy is a fundamental principle of marriage (munakahat) in Islam.

Abstract

Educational institutions in Indonesia have been established for decades before Indonesia's independence. Educational institutions that have been established still need to be evaluated. Educational management plays an important role in the progress of an educational institution. A quality educational institution can be seen from the management in it. Because if the management is of high quality, then the output of the educational institution is certainly of high quality. In the digital era, educational management is a concern in order to meet the demands of the era that continues to develop. This situation must be adjusted without disappearing existing norms. Educational institutions must continue to make continuous improvements that are not partial in order to form an ideal educational institution in it. Looking at the Elementary School institution, it will be seen which parts must be highlighted in order to make it a strength. Or conversely, it will also be seen which parts have weaknesses. This is related to educational management. Although the word management is very broad and deserves to be re-dissected. This research method uses qualitative context analysis research.

Abstract

The struggle of activists against oppressive regimes is a historical reality that has been repeated in various eras and places. Authoritarian regimes often suppress activist movements through various forms of repression, both structural and psychological. This study examines the dynamics of activists' struggle under the pressure of oppressive rule, with reference to the hadith narrated by Ibn Hibban No. 286 which asserts that conveying the truth in the face of oppressive rulers is the most important form of jihad. The approach used is qualitative through hadith studies and historical analysis, with reference to classical and contemporary literature, including books of hadith, tafsir, and relevant scientific research. The results of the study show that the form of activist resistance is not always confrontational, but can also be realized through da'wah, education, and diplomacy. This research provides a deeper understanding of how activists' struggles can take place ethically and with dignity, even under the pressure of an oppressive regime.

Abstract

This study explores the vital role of dialogue in human life, presenting it as a human necessity, a religious obligation, and a contemporary demand. From the Qur’anic perspective, dialogue is not merely a form of communication, but also a method of imparting knowledge, a means of da'wah (Islamic propagation), and a key strategy for peaceful coexistence. The objective of this research is to analyze the Qur’anic foundations of dialogue and identify the guiding principles for engaging with others. A qualitative methodology is adopted, utilizing library research and content analysis of Qur’anic verses that involve dialogue. The findings reveal that the Qur’an promotes dialogue as a core method for social engagement and da'wah, even in matters of creed and belief. It emphasizes recognition of the other, affirms difference as a divine law, and advocates for reasoned, ethical, and informed discourse. The implications suggest that Muslims should prioritize dialogue to counter modern challenges such as Islamophobia and religious conflicts, and to foster a culture of tolerance and mutual respect.

Abstract

This study analyzes Einstein's theory of relativity, specifically time dilation, in relation to Surah Al-Kahf (verses 18, 19, and 25) from the Quran. Science plays a vital role in shaping human understanding, and the Quran, as a timeless miracle, contains scientific truths revealed long before modern discoveries. One such truth is the concept of time dilation, reflected in the story of Ashabul Kahf, young believers who slept in a cave for over three centuries. Using a literature review and documentation method, this research explores scholarly and scientific interpretations of how their bodies remained preserved during such a prolonged period. It suggests that the young men may have experienced time differently due to conditions resembling near-light-speed movement, aligning with Einstein’s theory that time slows down at such velocities. The Quran mentions their bodies being turned regularly, which modern medicine confirms as crucial in preventing physical decay during long periods of immobility. Furthermore, the idea that objects near light speed appear shorter and less visible supports the Quranic description of the sleepers being shielded from view and instilling awe in those who passed by. This study concludes that the narrative of Ashabul Kahf illustrates a profound alignment between Quranic revelation and scientific principles, demonstrating the depth of divine wisdom and encouraging further exploration of science through the lens of faith.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the concept of "defending the truth" and its relevance to contemporary Muslim life, based on Surah Al-‘Asr and other Qur'anic and Prophetic texts. The research uses an analytical-descriptive approach through literature review of Qur'anic verses, Hadiths, and scholarly interpretations. The findings reveal that defending the truth encompasses more than speaking out; it includes righteous actions, da'wah, striving in God's cause, offering sincere advice, and enjoining good and forbidding evil, with wisdom and compassion. The study emphasizes that patience is an essential companion to defending the truth due to the inevitable trials and resistance faced. Surah Al-‘Asr outlines four essential principles, faith, righteous deeds, mutual enjoining of truth, and patience, which serve as a complete guide for personal and communal reform. The research concludes that every Muslim is obligated to uphold the truth in accordance with Islamic principles, contributing to the moral integrity and strength of the ummah.

Abstract

Racial conflict is a clash between different racial groups due to clashing interests and cultures. Racial conflict generally occurs because one race feels superior and more perfect than the others. This paper is based on the theory of intercultural misunderstanding and public relations theory. The theory of intercultural misunderstanding states that conflict occurs due to incompatibility in communication methods between different cultures. Public relations theory states that conflict occurs due to mistrust between different groups. This study reveals several preventive solutions for racial conflict from a Qur'anic perspective: eliminating primordial attitudes, eliminating racist attitudes, and eliminating stereotypical attitudes.
