Abstract

Defending the truth is closely linked to supporting God's religion, especially through da'wah and enjoining good while forbidding evil. However, many Muslims lack a clear understanding of the believer’s characteristics in fulfilling this mission. This study explores the guiding principles found in Sûrah Al-Anfâl, which outlines the defining traits of true believers, particularly in times of conflict and moral struggle. Sûrah Al-Anfâl, revealed during a pivotal moment in early Islamic history, presents enduring lessons on faith, perseverance, unity, justice, and reliance on Allah. Using an analytical approach, the study investigates the historical context of the surah and highlights its relevance to contemporary challenges. Key principles identified include firm belief in Allah, patience in hardship, solidarity among Muslims, moral integrity, and strategic trust in divine support. These are discussed regarding Quranic verses and both classical and modern tafsir. The study also draws parallels between the experiences of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ and today’s believers, offering practical strategies for spiritual development, community engagement, and constructive dialogue. The findings emphasize that defending the truth must be rooted in sincere faith and follow divine guidance to merit divine victory.

Abstract

Malaysia, a sociopolitical which consists of various religions, several nations, and peoples. Sociopolitics experiences tensions and challenges in managing social pluralism. Issues that arise in the face of the challenges of diversity in society experience tension, including gambling attitudes between groups, ethnic identities that hinder the integration and diversity of thoughts, beliefs, and habits of groups. This requires an alternative for building a society that leads to harmony, security, and positive interaction between people, religions and cultures, and nations. Therefore, achievements in developing a pluralistic society are based on elements of political stability, societal cohesion, and state harmony. This study uses qualitative methods by examining data and analyzing documents, including paying attention to current sociopolitical issues. The main data for the study uses the Sahih al-Bukhari book. The objective of this study is to analyze the solution of fostering a pluralistic society from the perspective of the hadith of Sahih al-Bukhari by applying the values of harmony in a pluralistic society, the value of political stability, the value of social justice, and fostering the value of social cohesion. The results of the study found that values such as harmony, stability, justice, and social cohesion guarantee a state that is based on the Malaysian nation-state. The implications of the study find that sociopolitical values help strengthen the relationship between a pluralistic society and political leaders, as well as ensuring social harmony and stability in Malaysia.

Abstract

The study of the Qur'an has evolved significantly from the time of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ to the present, reflecting its timeless relevance and emphasis on knowledge, including astronomy. The Qur'an contains numerous verses referencing celestial phenomena, encouraging reflection on the cosmos as a sign of Allah’s greatness and wisdom. This research explores Islamic perspectives on geocentrism and heliocentrism by analyzing Qur'anic verses related to astronomy. It investigates whether the Qur'an implies an Earth-centered universe (geocentrism) or aligns with the heliocentric model, which places the sun at the center. The study uses philosophical, scientific (`ilmy), and literary (adabi) approaches to examine the interpretations of scholars such as Fakhruddin Al-Razi, Musthafa Al-Maraghi, and others. Findings show a diversity of scholarly opinions, shaped by the scientific knowledge available during their respective eras. Some verses appear to support a geocentric view, while others resonate with heliocentric ideas. This variation underscores how Qur'anic interpretation evolves alongside scientific advancement, reflecting the dynamic interplay between revelation and reason in Islamic thought. The study emphasizes the Qur'an’s role in encouraging inquiry and its continued relevance in bridging religious teachings with modern science. It highlights the need for ongoing scholarly engagement to deepen understanding of both the Qur'an and the natural world.

Abstract

This article examines the theological construction of halal and haram in the Qur’an and Hadith as the normative, epistemic, and operational foundation of the halal certification system in Indonesia. The study employs a qualitative approach with a thematic exegesis (maudhu‘i) design applied to primary texts, combined with content analysis of regulations and standards. Primary data include Qur’anic verses on halalan tayyiban, typologies of prohibition, and hadiths concerning shubhat as well as legal maxims (qawa‘id fiqhiyyah), while secondary data consist of Law No. 33/2014, SNI 99001:2022, HAS 23000, and reputable scholarly literature. The analysis identifies four operational theological pillars: the cumulative principle of halalan tayyiban; typologies of prohibition based on substance (li ‘aynihi), process (li ghairihi), and harm; legal maxims as risk management principles (al-yaqin la yazulu bi al-shakk, la darar wa la dirar, sadd al-dhara’i); and maqasid al-shari‘ah as governance objectives. These pillars are directly aligned with the clauses of the Halal Management System SNI 99001:2022 and the BPJPH–LPH–MUI mechanism. The findings present a replicable framework of revelation–fiqh–standards integration, propose a Halal Critical Control Points (HCCP) model compatible with HACCP, and emphasize the role of digital traceability in upholding the principle of certainty (al-yaqin). The practical implications include strengthening the integrity of the halal supply chain, enhancing the accountability of fatwa decisions, and improving the competitiveness of the national halal industry.

Abstract

The authenticity of the Qur’an is a fundamental belief in Islam, that this holy book has been preserved from alteration since it was revealed to the Prophet Muhammad until the end of time. However, history records polemics related to differences in the companions’ manuscripts and criticisms from orientalists who questioned its authenticity. This article aims to reaffirm the authenticity of the Qur’an based on the interpretation of Q.S. Al-Hijr: 9. This research uses a library research method by reviewing classical and contemporary literature, both tafsir, hadith, and modern scientific works. The results of the study show that the authenticity of the Qur’an is not only theologically guaranteed by Allah, but is also historically proven through the tradition of Uthmani codification and the continuity of the memorization of the huffaz. In addition, Muslims have a great responsibility in maintaining the authenticity of the Qur’an through recitation, memorization, tadabbur, and the implementation of its teachings in everyday life.

Abstract

The interpretation of Q.S. Yusuf verse 24 is often debated among scholars, especially regarding the concept of infallibility (‘Iṣmat al-Anbiyā’) or the infallibility of the prophets. This verse is considered to contain important implications regarding the Prophet Yusuf's resistance to temptation, which forms the basis for understanding the nature of the infallibility of the prophets in Islam. This study aims to criticize the opinions of Ibn Abbas and Ibn Abi Mulaikah in interpreting this verse, which are considered different by some scholars because they are considered contrary to the principle of ʿIsmatul Anbiya. This study uses a library research method by collecting and analyzing classical and contemporary sources, including commentaries and works of scholars. The results of the study show that the interpretations of Ibn Abbas and Ibn Abi Mulaikah received sharp criticism from other commentators, such as Asy-Syinqithi, who argued that both interpretations are less in accordance with the concept of the infallibility of the Prophet from all sins and moral weaknesses. This finding emphasizes the importance of understanding the context and principles of ʿIsmatul Anbiya in interpreting verses concerning the character of the prophets, to be in accordance with the views of the majority of scholars who maintain the moral integrity of the prophets.

Abstract

The Palestinian-Israeli conflict has been going on for more than seven decades and has become one of the most complex humanitarian issues in the modern world. Military invasions, land seizures, economic blockades, and human rights violations committed by Israel have sparked global reactions. One form of international response is the Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions (BDS) movement. This study aims to analyze the theological legitimacy of boycotting pro-Zionist products through the perspective of contemporary interpretation of QS. At-Taubah verse 23. The research method used is qualitative based on literature study, with primary sources in the form of the Qur'an and Hadith, as well as secondary sources in the form of contemporary tafsir books such as Tafsir al-Maraghi, Fi Zhilalil Qur'an, Tafsir al-Azhar, Tafsir al-Munir, and Tafsir an-Nur. The results of the study show that QS. At-Taubah verse 23 affirms the principles of wala' (loyalty to Allah and the believers) and bara' (disassociating oneself from those who oppose Islam) and provides a strong basis for Muslims not to support those who oppose Islam, including through the consumption of products. The exegesis scholars agree that faith must be the main basis for determining attitudes, including in terms of shopping and economic support. Boycotts are a tangible form of faith, as well as a way of maintaining solidarity and strength among the ummah. In fact, boycotts have also been proven to weaken companies involved in supporting colonialism, as some of them have experienced a decline in profits due to global boycotts.

Abstract

One of the three standard mushafs of reference of the Lajnah is the Standard Mushaf of Bahriyah. Mushaf which refers to Turkish mushaf is widely used by memorizers of the Qur'an. Among its features is that physically each page consists of 15 lines, each juz contains 20 pages, and verses always end on each page which makes it easy to divide the stages of memorization. Nowadays along with the increasing enthusiasm of people to memorize, activists modify the physical appearance and affix. Abstract

The interpretation of the Qur'an is a crucial element in understanding the meaning and message of its verses. However, in practice, differences in interpretation, or al-ikhtilaf fi at-tafsir, often occur among both early (salaf) and later (khalaf) scholars, and have existed even since the time of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). Al-ikhtilaf fi at-tafsir is divided into two main types: Disagreement that is reducible to a single meaning and Disagreement that is based on multiple meanings, each with its own forms and characteristics. This study uses a library research method and is qualitative in nature. The author found that As-Sa'di's method in interpreting verses containing al-ikhtilaf involves three approaches: not explaining the existence of a difference and choosing the opinion he deems correct; mentioning the difference without choosing one of the opinions; and explaining the difference, then selecting the opinion he deems correct. Meanwhile, Quraish Shihab uses two approaches: explaining the existence of a difference without choosing one of the opinions, and selecting the opinion he deems correct.
