Abstract

The study was to examine the relationship between the volatility of the dollar exchange rate on international trade variables, namely exports and imports, in 3 Muslim-majority countries. This study analyzes the possibility that the volatility of the dollar exchange rate can hamper the economy of a country. The method used is the Autoregressive Distributed Lag and Error Correction Model (ARDL-ECM) to analyze the short-term and long-term relationship between the volatility of the dollar exchange rate against international trade in Indonesia, Pakistan, and Turkey. And to see the causality relationship between variables, the Granger-Causality method is used. The data used are monthly data for the period January 2006 to December 2021. From this research, it can be seen that in the long term there is no relationship between exchange rate volatility and export performance except in Turkey. Meanwhile, there is a relationship between exchange rate volatility and import performance in Pakistan and Turkey. In the short term in the export dependent model, Turkey is the country that takes the longest to respond to shocks to international trade, while in the import dependent model, Indonesia takes the longest to respond to shocks and Pakistan is the fastest country.

Abstract

The problem of prisons in Indonesia has not been resolved until now. There are 3 (three) main problems to date, namely, Overcrowded Prisoners, Lack of Human Resources in Prisons and Large Costs. This greatly affects the rights of prisoners themselves, where the rights of prisoners have been regulated both in International (Standard minimum Rules For The Treatment Of Prisoner) and National provisions (Law Number 22 of 2022 concerning Corrections). This research aims to answer legal problems regarding how the government has been managing prisons and private prisons as an alternative solution to the problems of prisons in Indonesia. To answer the research problem, this study uses a type of normative legal research with a legal approach, concepts and comparisons. The data used are secondary data supported by primary, secondary and tertiary legal materials obtained through literature research or document studies. The results of this study show that in managing prisons, legally Indonesia has made significant improvements and more implemented the human rights system by changing the orientation of retaliation to coaching prisoners. However, in its implementation, the Indonesian government still finds it difficult to implement these noble intentions and until now there are 3 (three) major problems that have not been addressed, namely Overcrowded Prisoners, Lack of Human Resources in Prisons and Large Costs. To be able to implement these noble intentions, there is an alternative solution, namely the implementation of private prisons with the Public Private Partnership system or Hybrid System where this system has been successfully applied in France and produces efficiency for the state

Abstract

The development of infrastructure is progressing rapidly, particularly for National Strategic Projects, such as the construction of the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road (Japek) South II Package 3, which is currently in progress. This toll road project also includes the construction of several interchanges that utilize girders in the process. The project commenced during a challenging time when Indonesia was facing the adverse effects of the Covid-19 pandemic, adding an additional obstacle to infrastructure work. Girder Erection Work, in particular, has recorded various types of accidents over the past few years. In response, the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing has issued Ministerial Regulation No. 10 of 2021, which provides guidelines for Construction Safety Management Systems (SMKK). By employing the Hazard Identification, Risk Assessment, and Risk Control (HIRARC) method, it is anticipated that construction practitioners can effectively manage risks and reduce workplace accidents in this project. Additionally, the Probability Impact Matrix (PIM) will be utilized to identify the most likely hazards and risks that could significantly impact the project's implementation in the event of an accident. In this study, out of the 57 variables validated by experts, the respondents identified 17 risks classified as high-risk and determined 8 main/dominant risks in the girder erection work of the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road Japek South II Package 3 Project. Subsequently, control measures and mitigations are planned for these 8 main risks.

Abstract

Company as an entity has an obligation to conduct financial reporting, along with the rapid growth of information technology in recent years, manual financial reporting is no longer adequate. Companies that have been listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) are required to conduct financial reporting either manually (hardcopy) or electronically (softcopy) through the company's official website. Financial reporting through the company's website is also known as Internet Financial Reporting (IFR). Therefore, this study aims to test and analyze the factors that affect the completeness of the company's IFR information. This research was conducted quantitatively using independent variables namely liquidity, profitability, company size, leverage and company listing age, while the dependent variable of this research is Internet Financial Reporting. The type of data used is quantitative data in the form of financial statements on the IDX website and the website of each company. The method of data collection is documentation. The research object is a service sector company registered in the IDX in 2017-2019. Data analysis is performed with multiple linear regression analysis. The results showed that the size of the company has a positive effect on the completeness of IFR information. This means that the larger the size of the company, the company will present IFR with more adequate information on the company's website. The test results also proved that leverage negatively affects the completeness of IFR information. This indicates that the greater the leverage of the company, the company will present IFR with lower completeness of information on the company's website. The test results also showed that liquidity, profitability and listing life had no effect on the completeness of IFR information.

Abstract

Otitis media is an inflammation of the middle ear mucosa presenting with symptoms of otalgia, fever, ear tugging, frequent crying at night and ear discharge through a tympanic membrane perforation. Globally, otitis media is a common health problem among children and causes an unpleasant feeling and complications to children. The purpose of this study is to determine knowledge, perception and attitude on otitis media among parents of children five years and below who seek health care at Abuakwa Polyclinic. This study used a quantitative cross-sectional design and 114 parents of children 5 years and below were recruited using non-probability method of convenient sampling. The findings suggest that the surveyed parents had a reasonable level of knowledge regarding otitis media. They generally understood that it is an infection and inflammation of the middle ear, recognized common risk factors, and can identify the typical clinical manifestations. The findings reveal varied perceptions and knowledge among parents regarding otitis media. While there is generally a good understanding of certain aspects such as causative organisms, clinical manifestations, and complications, there are also areas where misconceptions or uncertainty exist, such as the need for antibiotics and the long-term prognosis of the condition. The findings highlight the diverse attitudes of parents towards otitis media. A significant number of parents demonstrate a proactive approach by seeking prompt treatment and opting for hospital care, there are also variations in treatment preferences, with a minority favoring traditional or alternative methods. Factors such as accessibility, waiting times, previous experience, financial constraints, treatment effectiveness were socio-economic factors influencing parents attitude and their choice of where to seek care. The study recommends that ENT professionals in collaboration with the district public health team are to initiate and implement health education programs on otitis media to create more awareness among parents with children 5 years and below

Abstract

The aim of this study was to analyze the reproductive performance (empty period) and production (peak time of milk production) of 87 dairy cows (Friesian Holstein) at X dairy farm Bogor using survival analysis. The analysis results based on the Kaplan-Meier curve showed that the median total idle time, primiparous cow, multiparous cow, cow that gave birth in the rainy and dry seasons were 210; 335; 231; 272; and 397 days. The median value of the total peak milk production, primiparous cow, multiparous cow, cow that give birth in the rainy and dry seasons is 41; 41; 39; 41; 41 days. The Cox Proportional Hazard regression results on idle time showed that the multiparous cow was 1.84 times more likely (P<0.05) to have a shorter idle period than the primiparous cow. Cows that gave birth during the rainy season had a 1.80 times shorter chance than cows that gave birth during the dry season, although they were not statistically significantly different (P=0.043). The regression results on peak milk production showed no difference between cows and primiparous cows. Meanwhile, cows that gave birth during the rainy season experienced peak lactation 1.26 times and tended to be faster than cows that gave birth during the dry season, although this was not statistically significant. The study's conclusions show that it was necessary to improve the management of reproduction and production of X dairy farm in Bogor.
