Abstract

This research is motivated by the importance of internal inventory control in maintaining asset security and supporting the smooth operation of the oil palm seedling nursery business. This research aims to analyze the implementation of internal control over palm oil seed inventory at UD Putri Hijau and assess its alignment with the elements of internal control. The research method used is a descriptive method with a qualitative approach thru observation, interviews, and documentation techniques. The research results show that the internal control of inventory does not fully comply with the elements of internal control. This is evident from the lack of separation of functions between sales, storage, and recording, leading to task duplication. The recording that is done is still simple, only noting the date and the number of seedlings sold without being supported by journals, ledgers, or inventory cards. In addition, periodic physical inventory reconciliation has not been conducted, and there has been no employe training in record-keeping. These findings indicate the need for improvements in the internal inventory control system thru the implementation of function separation, more structured record-keeping, and periodic inventory inspections.

Abstract

The development of the capital market in Indonesia requires the availability of high-quality financial information, particularly earnings, as a basis for investors’ decision-making. The market’s reaction to earnings information is reflected in the earnings response coefficient (ERC), which is influenced by various factors such as systematic risk, leverage, and profitability. This study aims to analyze the influence of systematic risk, leverage, and profitability on the earnings response coefficient for companies operating in the consumer goods industry sector listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange for the 2022–2023 period. This study employs a quantitative approach with an associative research design. The study population consists of all companies in the consumer goods industry sector on the Indonesia Stock Exchange, with a purposive sampling technique yielding 48 samples. The data used are secondary data in the form of annual financial reports. Data collection was conducted through documentation, while data analysis was performed using multiple linear regression with SPSS, along with classical assumption tests. The results indicate that systematic risk does not have a significant effect on the earnings response coefficient. Meanwhile, leverage and profitability have a significant positive effect on the earnings response coefficient. Simultaneously, all three variables have a significant effect on the earnings response coefficient (ERC). This study concludes that investors pay more attention to internal firm factors such as leverage and profitability than to systematic risk when responding to earnings information. Consequently, firms need to improve their financial performance to elicit a positive market response.

Abstract

Financial statements are the primary means of conveying financial information to stakeholders; therefore, they must possess a high degree of integrity so as not to mislead users. The integrity of financial statements reflects the reliability and honesty of the information presented, which can be influenced by various factors such as the size of the public accounting firm (PAF), earnings management practices, and the presence of an independent board of commissioners. This study aims to analyze the influence of the size of the PAF, earnings management, and the independent board of commissioners on the integrity of financial statements. This study employs a quantitative approach with an associative research design. The study population consists of companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange, with purposive sampling used to determine the research sample. The data used are secondary data in the form of companies’ annual financial statements. Data collection was conducted through documentation, while data analysis utilized multiple linear regression and classical assumption tests. The results indicate that the size of the public accounting firm does not have a significant effect on financial statement integrity. Meanwhile, earnings management has a significant negative effect on financial statement integrity, whereas an independent board of commissioners has a significant positive effect on financial statement integrity. Simultaneously, all independent variables have an effect on financial statement integrity. This study concludes that earnings management practices can undermine the integrity of financial statements, whereas oversight by an independent board of commissioners can enhance that integrity. Consequently, companies need to strengthen their corporate governance and reduce opportunistic practices to maintain investor confidence.

Abstract

Poverty remains one of the major challenges in economic development, particularly in developing countries such as Indonesia. Despite consistent economic growth, poverty reduction does not always occur proportionally, indicating the need to examine structural factors influencing poverty. This study aims to analyze the relationship between economic development represented by education, unemployment, and industrialization to poverty in Indonesia in both the short and long term. The research employs a quantitative approach using annual time series data from 1995–2024 obtained from the World Bank and the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS). The analysis method applied is the Autoregressive Distributed Lag (ARDL) model to examine both short-term dynamics and long-term equilibrium relationships between variables. The results indicate that in the short term, education has a negative and significant effect on poverty in the current period, while unemployment significantly increases poverty in lag periods. Industrialization shows mixed effects, where it initially increases poverty but subsequently contributes to poverty reduction in later periods. In the long term, education and unemployment show negative but insignificant effects on poverty, whereas industrialization has a positive and significant effect. These findings suggest that economic development variables influence poverty dynamics, but the effectiveness of poverty reduction depends on the quality of education, labor market absorption, and the inclusiveness of industrial development.

The rapid development of digital technology and social media in recent years has significantly transformed the business landscape, encouraging entrepreneurs to utilize live streaming as a highly interactive marketing strategy. This strategy serves not only as a promotional medium but is also crucial for enhancing consumer engagement and building consumer trust amidst fierce digital market competition. This study aims to conduct an in-depth analysis of the live streaming strategies implemented by businesses and to evaluate their simultaneous impact on the level of consumer engagement and trust formation. This research employs a descriptive qualitative approach with a case study design. The research population includes active social media users who have participated in live streaming commerce activities. A total of 15 informants were selected using a purposive sampling technique based on specific criteria: active social media usage, direct interaction experience during broadcasts, and prior purchase consideration. Data collection was conducted comprehensively through in-depth interviews, direct observations of live streaming sessions, and documentation of relevant digital content. Data analysis was carried out in three main stages: data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results indicate that interactive communication patterns, transparent product information delivery, and quick responses from the host significantly increase consumer engagement and trust. Furthermore, live product demonstrations and the presence of audience testimonials in the comment section proved effective in strengthening consumers' positive perceptions. In conclusion, effectively designed live streaming strategies can strengthen long-term relationships with consumers and support purchasing decisions within the digital marketing ecosystem.

Abstract

MSMEs in the food and beverage (F&B) sector play a strategic role in labor absorption and regional development in Bandar Lampung. However, many business owners still face challenges such as limited innovation and low adoption of digital technology, which hinder their growth and performance in a dynamic market. This study aims to examine the influence of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) adoption and open innovation on the business resilience of F&B MSMEs. Using a quantitative approach, the population of this study consisted of 1,183 F&B MSME owners in Bandar Lampung who utilize ICT. A sample of 112 respondents was determined using the Slovin method with a purposive sampling technique. Data were collected through structured questionnaires with Likert scales and analyzed using multiple linear regression techniques via SPSS 25 software. The results indicate that ICT adoption (β =0,685; p =0,000) and open innovation (β =0,251$; p =0,000$) have a positive and significant effect on business resilience both partially and simultaneously. The model achieved a coefficient of determination (R2) of 0.694, meaning the independent variables explain 69.4% of the variance in business resilience. The implications of this research emphasize that strengthening internal digital literacy and external knowledge collaboration, particularly customer involvement, is crucial for increasing competitiveness and ensuring the business sustainability of MSMEs amidst local economic pressures.

Abstract

Geopolitical conflict is considered an external shock that can disrupt regional economic stability through its impact on trade and economic growth. The prolonged Israel–Palestine conflict has created spillover effects across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, affecting macroeconomic performance. This study aims to analyze the impact of the Israel–Palestine conflict on trade openness and economic growth (GDP) in the MENA region during the period 2010–2024. This research uses a quantitative approach with panel data analysis. The population consists of countries in the MENA region, with selected samples based on data availability. Secondary data are obtained from international institutions such as the World Bank. The analysis employs panel data regression using the Fixed Effect Model (FEM), selected based on the Chow and Hausman tests. The study also includes GDP per capita, inflation, investment, and global oil prices as control variables. The results show that the Israel–Palestine conflict has a negative effect on trade openness and economic growth. Trade openness, GDP per capita, and investment have positive effects, while inflation has a negative impact. Global oil prices significantly influence economic performance. These findings imply the importance of strengthening economic resilience and adaptive policies to mitigate the effects of geopolitical instability in the MENA region.

Abstract

The rapid development of digital technology has driven the transformation of banking services, including Islamic banking, which is required to provide application-based innovations. One of these innovations is the e-gold (e-mas) feature in the Byond by BSI application, which enables customers to invest in gold digitally in a practical and Sharia-compliant manner. This study aims to analyze the digital marketing strategy applied to the e-mas feature and to identify the factors influencing customer adoption of the service. This research employs a qualitative approach with a descriptive design. The subjects consisted of six informants selected through purposive sampling, including bank employees and customers using the e-mas feature. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews, observation, and documentation. The data were analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model, which includes data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing, while data validity was ensured through source triangulation. The findings indicate that the digital marketing strategy is relatively effective, as reflected by a 70% adoption rate among customers. The main factors influencing usage include ease of access, investment flexibility, and trust in the Sharia-based system. Furthermore, digital distribution and product quality are more dominant than promotional activities in encouraging service adoption. This study concludes that the success of digital marketing strategies is more strongly influenced by user experience than by promotional intensity. Therefore, improving system quality and enhancing customers’ digital literacy are essential to support the sustainability of digital financial services.
