Abstract

High population growth is one of the development challenges in Indonesia, so the Family Planning (KB) program has an important role in controlling the growth rate. However, the participation rate of women in contraceptive use still shows interregional variations influenced by socioeconomic factors. This study aims to analyze the effect of the average length of women's schooling, women's labor force participation rate, GDP per capita, and the percentage of poor people on the percentage of women using contraception in Indonesia. This study uses a quantitative approach with regression analysis of panel data. The Data used is secondary data from 34 provinces in Indonesia during the period 2020-2024 sourced from the Central Statistics Agency. Analysis techniques include CHOW Test, Hausman test, classical assumption test, and hypothesis testing using t test, F test, and coefficient of determination with the help of EViews 12 application. The results showed that partially, GDP per capita and the percentage of poor people significantly affect the percentage of women who use contraception, with a negative influence. Meanwhile, the average length of women's schooling and the female labor force participation rate had no significant effect. However, simultaneously all independent variables significantly affect the use of contraception with a coefficient of determination of 97.51%. In conclusion, macroeconomic factors have a more dominant role than education and job participation in influencing contraceptive use. The implication is that government policies need to focus on improving public welfare, reducing poverty, and equitable access to reproductive health services in order to increase the effectiveness of family planning programs in Indonesia.

Abstract

The rapid development of technology and intense competition in the banking sector require every financial institution to provide superior service to maintain business continuity. The quality of service provided by Customer Service, as the frontline, is a determining factor in building a positive image and public trust. This study aims to analyze the role of customer service quality at BRI Kalisat Unit based on the dimensions of reliability, responsiveness, assurance, empathy, and tangibles. It also identifies key indicators that determine customer satisfaction and loyalty during direct interactions with customer service. It also examines the challenges faced in providing responsive and quality service.  This study applies a qualitative method with a descriptive approach to accurately describe the phenomena in the field. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with research subjects consisting of customer service and customers, supplemented by literature studies as a secondary data source. The data analysis process includes data reduction, presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results show that service quality at BRI Kalisat Unit is in the good category and significantly strengthens customer loyalty. Key indicators that encourage customer loyalty include polite, communicative officers, and the ability to provide clear solutions. However, there are operational challenges such as low customer digital literacy and technical system disruptions that sometimes hamper service speed. In conclusion, despite facing technical obstacles and limited customer digital literacy, strengthening interpersonal skills and updating technology systems are strategic implications that must be implemented. Continuous improvement efforts will ensure customer loyalty and prevent future switching to competitors.

Abstract

The increasingly competitive banking industry encourages banks to optimize credit distribution, including in the pension segment, which has stable income and relatively low risk. This segment is considered potential due to its income stability, which can reduce the risk of non-performing loans. However, in practice, credit decisions are not only influenced by economic factors such as interest rates, but also by marketing strategies such as promotion implemented by banks. This study aims to analyze the effect of loan interest rates and promotion on pension credit decisions at Bank Mandiri Taspen Sub-Branch Leuwiliang. This research uses a quantitative approach with a causal associative design. The population consists of 1,032 customers, with a sample of 100 respondents determined using the slovin formula and accidental sampling technique. Data were collected through Likert-scale questionnaires and analyzed using multiple linear regression. The results show that partially, loan interest rates have no significant effect on credit decisions, while promotion has a positive and significant effect. Simultaneously, both variables have a significant effect, with a coefficient of determination of 0.244. These findings differ from some previous studies that found a significant effect of interest rates, but are consistent with studies emphasizing the. The implications of the research show that promotion is a dominant factor in driving credit decisions, so banks need to optimize promotional strategies that are effective, targeted, and based on the needs of retired customers.

Abstract

Global climate change caused by rising greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions is driving companies to improve transparency and accountability through sustainability reports and environmental accounting practices. In Indonesia, the energy sector is one of the sectors that contributes significantly to GHG emissions, and is therefore required to implement emission reduction policies and sustainability reporting in a more optimal manner. This study aims to analyze the impact of GHG emission reduction policies on compliance with sustainability report disclosures and environmental accounting practices among energy sector companies in Indonesia. This study employs a qualitative approach using a case study methodology. The study population consists of energy sector companies in Indonesia, while research informants were selected using purposive sampling, comprising sustainability managers, environmental managers, accounting staff, and the sustainability report drafting team. Research data consists of primary and secondary data obtained through semi-structured interviews, document reviews, sustainability reports, annual reports, and relevant regulations. Data analysis was conducted using qualitative analysis through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, triangulation, and drawing conclusions. The research findings indicate that GHG emission reduction policies drive the transformation of environmental accounting practices through the development of carbon accounting systems, the integration of environmental aspects into corporate decision-making, and improvements in the quality of sustainability report disclosures. However, policy implementation still faces various challenges, such as limitations in human resources, technology, and uniform environmental accounting standards. This study concludes that GHG emission reduction policies play a crucial role in improving environmental accounting practices and compliance with sustainability report disclosures among energy companies in Indonesia. The implications of this research highlight the need for enhanced corporate capacity, strengthened regulations, and the development of an integrated environmental reporting system to support corporate sustainability.

Abstract

The rapid development of e-commerce has changed consumer behavior in conducting online transactions. One platform that has experienced significant growth is TikTok Shop, which integrates social media and shopping activities into a single application. The high use of TikTok Shop among university students indicates changes in consumption patterns influenced by factors such as price, product quality, and application features. In addition, differences in previous research findings regarding factors influencing repurchase intention indicate the need for further research. This study aims to analyze the effect of price, product quality, and application features on repurchase intention among TikTok Shop users at Universitas Cipasung Tasikmalaya. This study employed a quantitative associative method with a sample of 105 respondents determined using the Slovin formula. Data were collected through questionnaires using a 1–5 Likert scale and analyzed using Partial Least Squares–Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) with the assistance of SmartPLS 4 software. The results showed that price, product quality, and application features have a positive and significant effect on repurchase intention. The findings indicate that price suitability, good product quality, and ease of application use increase consumers' intention to make repeat purchases. These results suggest that improving marketing strategies and service management on the platform can support customer satisfaction and encourage sustainable customer loyalty.

Abstract

Cross-country income disparities remain a central puzzle in institutional economics, yet most clustering studies are regionally confined or rely on binary classifications that obscure the multidimensional nature of institutional variation.  This study constructs a global institutional typology for 100 countries across all major world regions and maps Indonesia's governance profile within it.  Hierarchical Clustering Analysis (HCA) was applied to 2023 cross-sectional data using five Worldwide Governance Indicators (WGI) — Voice and Accountability, Political Stability, Government Effectiveness, Regulatory Quality, and Rule of Law alongside the inverted Corruption Perceptions Index (CPI_rev), replacing the redundant Control of Corruption dimension. Countries were selected through purposive sampling ensuring geographic and developmental representativeness, with z-score standardization, Euclidean distance, and Ward.D linkage validated by silhouette width. Two robust clusters emerged: an extractive-tending group (n = 62, mean GDP per capita USD 19,599 PPP) and an inclusive-tending group (n = 38, mean GDP per capita USD 64,720 PPP), a 3.3-fold income gap consistent with Acemoglu and Robinson's (2012) framework. Indonesia's placement in Cluster 1 reveals a paradox: strong democratic and state-capacity indicators coexist with below-average income, with corruption (CPI_rev = 66.00) and weak rule of law as binding constraints. For extractive-tending countries, corruption control emerges as the most urgent reform priority, while inclusive-tending countries should focus on sustaining institutional quality to maintain long-run economic performance. Indonesia's post-reformasi gains require deeper judicial reform and anti-corruption enforcement to translate governance improvements into inclusive economic outcomes.

Abstract

Regional inequality remains a regional development problem in Southern Sumatra, particularly in the provinces of Lampung, South Sumatra, and Bengkulu. Differences in the level of infrastructure development between regions lead to unequal economic development and public welfare. Education, health, road, and sanitation infrastructure are important factors influencing the level of regional inequality because they are related to public access to basic services and economic activities. This study aims to analyze the effect of education, health, road, and sanitation infrastructure development on regional inequality among the three provinces of Southern Sumatra in 2019–2023. This study uses quantitative methods with secondary data obtained from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS). Data analysis was conducted using panel data regression with the Random Effect Model (REM) approach through the RStudio application. Regional inequality was measured using the Williamson Index as an indicator of inter-regional development disparities. The results show that education infrastructure has a positive and significant effect on regional inequality. Health infrastructure has a negative and significant effect on regional inequality. Meanwhile, road and sanitation infrastructure have a negative but insignificant effect on regional inequality. These findings indicate that health infrastructure development can help reduce regional disparities, while unequal education development actually increases inequality between regions. Meanwhile, road and sanitation infrastructure development has not had a strong impact on reducing regional inequality during the study period. The study concludes that equitable infrastructure development, particularly in the education, health, road, and sanitation sectors, needs to be continuously improved to ensure more equitable development between regions and reduce regional inequality in Southern Sumatra.

Abstract

The Indonesia–Malaysia–Thailand Growth Triangle (IMT-GT) subregional economic cooperation promotes regional economic integration through trade, investment, and regional connectivity. In this context, Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) is considered an important factor influencing economic growth through technology transfer, productivity enhancement, and production capacity expansion. However, the relationship between FDI and economic growth in IMT-GT countries remains inconclusive. This study aims to analyze the causal relationship between Foreign Direct Investment (FDI), economic growth, exports, and imports in IMT-GT member countries, namely Indonesia, Malaysia, and Thailand. This research employs a quantitative approach using secondary time series data from 1981–2024 obtained from the World Bank. The variables used include Gross Domestic Product (GDP), Foreign Direct Investment (FDI), exports, and imports. The analysis applies the Augmented Dickey-Fuller (ADF) unit root test, Levin, Lin, and Chu panel unit root test, and Granger causality test using EViews 12 software. The findings indicate that all variables are stationary at the first difference level. The causality test reveals a bidirectional relationship between GDP and FDI in Indonesia and Malaysia, while Thailand shows no significant causal relationship between the two variables. In addition, Indonesia and Malaysia exhibit one-way relationships from exports to FDI, imports to FDI, and exports to imports. In Thailand, the relationship appears relatively weak and is only indicated by the effect of exports on GDP at the 10 percent significance level. This study concludes that the relationship between FDI, economic growth, exports, and imports in IMT-GT countries is not homogeneous, but is influenced by economic characteristics, trade structures, and each country’s capacity to absorb the benefits of foreign investment. Therefore, strengthening the investment climate, trade connectivity, and productivity-oriented economic policies is essential to enhance the contribution of FDI to economic growth in the IMT-GT region.

Abstract

Indonesia is the world's largest archipelagic country and has a large marine fisheries base that supports national food security. Even so, capture fisheries production across provinces still moves unevenly, which suggests that the use of production inputs has not been fully efficient. This study examines the effects of the number of fishermen, fishing vessels, and capture fisheries households on capture fisheries production in Indonesia during 2020-2024. The study applies a quantitative explanatory approach using secondary panel data from 33 provinces with complete observations for five years, resulting in 165 observations. The data were obtained from the Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries (KKP). The analysis uses panel data regression, with model testing through the Chow and Hausman tests, and reports the Random Effect Model (REM) estimation used in the study. The results show that the number of fishermen has a positive and significant effect (β = 1.639; p < 0.05), the number of fishing vessels has the largest positive coefficient (β = 2.635; p < 0.05), and capture fisheries households have a negative and significant effect (β = -1.527; p < 0.05). Jointly, the three variables significantly explain production (F = 202.15; p < 0.05; R² = 0.790). The findings suggest that increasing production inputs needs to be balanced with resource-carrying capacity to prevent excess exploitation in capture fisheries.

Abstract

Net income is an important indicator for assessing corporate performance. Automotive and component manufacturing companies face challenges in managing production costs, operating expenses, and sales, making it necessary to examine their effects on net income. This study aims to analyze the effect of production costs, operating expenses, and sales on net income both partially and simultaneously. This study employs a quantitative causal (explanatory) approach. Secondary data were obtained from the annual financial statements of automotive and component manufacturing companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange during 2019–2024. Using purposive sampling, 7 companies with 42 observations were selected. Data were collected through documentation techniques and analyzed using multiple linear regression with SPSS. The findings reveal that production costs have a negative and significant effect on net income (t=-4.378; p<0.001), operating expenses have a positive and significant effect (t=2.439; p=0.020), and sales have a positive and significant effect (t=4.850; p<0.001). Simultaneously, the three variables significantly affect net income (F=195.838; p<0.001) with an Adjusted R Square of 0.934. Efficient production cost management, productive operating expenditures, and increased sales contribute to higher net income. These findings provide practical implications for management in developing cost-control and revenue-enhancement strategies to improve financial performance.
