Abstract

This article examines the development of community-based halal tourism in Temajuk Village, Paloh District, Sambas Regency, as an Indonesia-Malaysia border destination. The study is relevant because Temajuk possesses strong natural, cultural, and Islamic identity assets, whilst still facing limitations in accessibility, amenities, communication networks, destination governance, and tourism regulation. This study employs a descriptive qualitative approach, which includes in-depth interviews, observation, focus group discussions, and source triangulation. The findings show that local communities play a central role in shaping halal tourism experiences through social hospitality, the cultural practice of jerampah, homestay management, local products, tourism awareness groups, festivals, and social media promotion. However, community initiatives remain limited when they are not supported by a master plan, halal service standards, visitor data, banking access, electricity, internet, and multi-stakeholder partnerships. This article proposes the Border Community Five-Capital Model, comprising natural-cultural capital, social capital, symbolic capital, economic capital, and institutional-digital capital. The model can serve as a practical framework for strengthening the competitiveness of halal tourism destinations that are inclusive, sustainable, and oriented towards local community welfare.

Abstract

Good principle governance Good governance is a key agenda in the transformation of contemporary public administration in Indonesia. Along with the dynamics of regional autonomy and demands for open information, the integration of the values of accountability, transparency, and participation has become a central instrument for eroding classic bureaucratic pathologies such as inefficiency, corruption, and low responsiveness. This article aims to analyze in depth the developments, systemic obstacles, acceleration strategies, and the real impact of the institutionalization of the principles of good governance. governance on the quality of public services. Using a qualitative-descriptive approach with literature studies and regulatory reviews, this analysis found that the realization of ideal governance is often hampered by cultural resistance from officials, limited infrastructure, and suboptimal leadership commitment at the local level. However, the integration of clean governance has consistently been shown to significantly increase public trust and budget efficiency. An adaptive framework, transformative leadership, and strengthened community-based oversight are needed to realize an inclusive, accountable, and public-benefit-oriented government

Abstract

This study examined how green practices influence corporate sustainability value in Agroindustry Company X in North Sumatra, Indonesia. The study used a quantitative descriptive case-study design based on annual reports, sustainability-related documents, direct observation, and structured interviews with three managers for the 2020-2024 period. The green practice index was constructed from four dimensions: environmental management, energy efficiency, waste management, and green purchasing. Each dimension was scored from 1 to 25 and then summed into a 0-100 index. Sustainability value was constructed as a 0-1 composite ratio from normalized economic, social, and environmental indicators. Data were analyzed through trend analysis and simple linear regression. The green practice score increased from 52 in 2020 to 81 in 2024, while sustainability value increased from 0.48 to 0.79. Regression results show a positive relationship between green practices and sustainability value, with a coefficient of 0.0109 and R² of 0.990. Because the dataset used five annual observations from one firm, the result is interpreted as exploratory case evidence. The study shows that systematic environmental practices can support long-term value creation through efficiency, transparency, and stakeholder confidence

Abstract

Sharia business communication is becoming increasingly important as digital competition transforms the way businesses promote products, negotiate, serve customers, and build trust. This article analyses Sharia business communication strategies in the face of digital-era competition by synthesising the literature on Sharia communication in the digital transformation of SMEs and value-based Islamic organisational communication. The research employs a qualitative descriptive approach through a literature review and thematic analysis. The findings identify five pillars of strategy: honest and transparent product communication; digital trust based on amanah; internal coordination based on musyawarah; halal and ethical content branding; and transactional communication aligned with Sharia principles. Digital competition cannot be adequately addressed merely through mastery of platforms, algorithms, and promotional speed. Business operators must also demonstrate ethical discipline, clarity of contracts, data responsibility, fair pricing, and consistent after-sales service. A Sharia communication strategy can strengthen market differentiation, customer loyalty, team synergy, and business sustainability when implemented through communication operational standards, Sharia digital literacy, halal certification, and measurable communication indicators. This article offers a practical framework for SMEs and Islamic business organisations seeking to compete ethically in the digital marketplace

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the suitability of handmade product transactions with the pre-order system at TikTok Shop against the principle of istisna' contracts in fiqh muamalah. The method used is descriptive qualitative with a literature study approach through the analysis of fiqh literature, fatwa, and previous research. The results of the study show that the practice of pre-order has basically reflected the elements of the istisna' contract, such as the agreement between the seller and the buyer, the object of the order, and the production process after the contract. However, the implementation is not fully optimal because there is still uncertainty in product specifications, completion times, and transaction mechanisms that have the potential to cause uncertainty (gharar). On the other hand, the escrow system and platform features help improve security, trust, and the balance of rights and obligations of the parties. Thus, the suitability of the istisna' contract is conditional, depending on the level of clarity and transparency in the transaction. Therefore, it is necessary to increase MSME actors' understanding of sharia principles and optimize the use of digital features so that transactions are more in accordance with the provisions of fiqh muamalah.

Abstract

The development of social media, particularly TikTok, has driven changes in digital marketing strategies for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs). This study aims to analyze TikTok's content strategy in building brand awareness and examine its impact on business performance and its alignment with the principles of Islamic business ethics at King Geprek Sumberanyar Paiton. This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study method. Data collection was conducted through interviews, observation, and documentation, while data analysis was carried out through the stages of reduction, presentation, and drawing conclusions using triangulation techniques to maintain data validity. The results show that a content strategy that includes a consistent account identity, product visualization, transparency of the production process, and interaction with the audience is able to build brand awareness that includes brand recognition, brand recall, and brand exposure. This increase in brand awareness has an impact on improving business performance, as indicated by increases in sales, number of consumers, and turnover. In addition, the implemented content strategy also reflects the principles of Islamic business ethics, namely honesty (shiddiq), justice ('adl), and responsibility (amanah), which contribute to increasing consumer trust. This research shows that digital marketing through TikTok is not only effective in improving business performance but can also be carried out ethically in accordance with Islamic values.

Abstract

The implementation of the Quick Response Code Indonesian Standard (QRIS) has accelerated digital payment transformation, particularly among micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs). However, the application of the Merchant Discount Rate (MDR) in QRIS transactions has raised debates regarding justice, transparency, and public welfare in Islamic economics. This study aims to analyze MDR implementation in QRIS transactions from the perspective of fiqh muamalah. The novelty of this research lies in examining MDR not merely as a transaction fee but also as a contemporary muamalah practice assessed through the principles of ujrah, al-‘adl, maslahah, tarāḍī, and the avoidance of gharar and ẓulm. This study employs a qualitative method with a normative-empirical approach through literature review and regulatory analysis. The findings indicate that MDR is permissible (mubāḥ) if implemented transparently, fairly, proportionally, and based on mutual consent. Nevertheless, limited transparency and merchant understanding may create economic injustice. Therefore, transparent regulation and financial literacy are essential to protect MSME welfare and achieve maqāṣid al-sharī‘ah.

Abstract

The development of digital technology has changed marketing patterns and consumer behavior; however, not all business sectors, including traditional markets, are able to adapt to these changes. This study analyzes the implementation of digital marketing among MSMEs in the Sokobanah Daya Traditional Market and its impact on consumer behavior and traditional market competitiveness. This study employed a qualitative approach using a case study design. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation involving 5 MSME operators and 2 consumers. Data analysis was conducted using the Miles and Huberman model. The findings show that the implementation of digital marketing remains low, as most MSME operators still rely on conventional marketing methods. Low digital literacy and limited technical skills are the main inhibiting factors. The development of digital marketing has shifted consumer behavior toward online shopping, thereby reducing the competitiveness of traditional markets. Nevertheless, traditional markets still maintain the advantage of direct interaction. This study contributes to understanding the challenges of digital transformation among traditional market MSMEs in rural areas. Therefore, improving digital literacy and integrating conventional and digital marketing strategies are necessary to support the sustainability of traditional markets.

The research employed a qualitative phenomenological approach through observation, interviews, and documentation involving business owners, employees, distributors, and consumers of Teh Kota. The findings indicate that Teh Kota utilized several advertising strategies, including social media promotion, banners, price promotions, and word-of-mouth marketing to attract consumer interest and expand market reach. Sales turnover increased by approximately 41.36% after promotional intensification in March 2026. From the perspective of Sharia economics, the promotional strategies generally reflected the principles of shiddiq, amanah, tabligh, and fathanah, although several aspects of digital promotion still require improvement. The study concludes that integrating ethical Islamic values into advertising strategies contributes to strengthening consumer trust and supporting sustainable local business development.

Abstract

The rapid growth of Islamic banking in Indonesia has encouraged the development of hybrid financing products, including the Gold Installment product offered by Bank Syariah Indonesia (BSI). This product combines murābaḥah (cost-plus sale) and rahn (pledge) contracts, in which the gold purchased by the customer is retained by the bank as collateral until all installments are paid. Although widely implemented, the validity of this contractual structure remains debated in Islamic jurisprudence, particularly regarding ownership (al-milk al-tām) and possession (qabḍ). This study aims to analyze the legal validity of rahn over the object of murābaḥah from the perspective of Shafi‘i fiqh. Using a qualitative library research approach, this study examines classical Shafi‘i legal texts, DSN-MUI fatwas, regulatory documents, and recent scholarly literature. The analysis shows that the use of the same gold as both the object of sale (mabī‘) and collateral (marhūn) raises significant juridical concerns. According to Imam al-Nawawī and other Shafi‘i jurists, a rahn contract is valid only when the pledgor has complete ownership and effective possession of the pledged asset. These conditions are not fully satisfied when the gold remains under the bank’s control from the outset of the financing. The study contributes to the literature by providing a focused normative analysis from the Shafi‘i madhhab, an area that has received limited attention in previous studies. It recommends restructuring the contract mechanism by ensuring qabḍ prior to rahn and by separating the sale object from the collateral. Such adjustments would strengthen both Sharī‘ah compliance and operational integrity in Islamic banking.
