Abstract

This study aims to obtain empirical evidence on the effect of ESG disclosure and Intellectual Capital on the financial performance of energy sector companies listed on the IDX for 2022–2024. A quantitative causal design was applied to 22 companies selected through purposive sampling, yielding 66 firm-year observations. Financial performance was measured using Return on Assets (ROA), ESG disclosure using the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) index, and Intellectual Capital using the Value-Added Intellectual Coefficient (VAIC), analyzed through panel data regression with the Fixed Effect Model. Results show ESG disclosure has a negative, insignificant effect on ROA, while Intellectual Capital has a positive and significant effect. The findings indicate ESG disclosure is still treated as a compliance cost, whereas efficient intellectual capital management is a key driver of profitability in the energy sector. The global business paradigm has shifted from a purely profit-oriented focus toward integrating sustainability and intangible value-creation factors into corporate performance assessment. ESG disclosure and Intellectual Capital (IC) have become increasingly relevant non-financial indicators, particularly for energy sector companies that face high environmental and social risk exposure, yet prior studies on their relationship with financial performance remain inconsistent, and evidence specific to the energy sector on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) in recent periods is still limited.

Abstract

Cantigi Ungu (Vaccinium varingifolium (Blume) Miq.) is an endemic plant of Java that is found in mountainous areas at altitudes ranging from 1,800 to 2,000 m above sea level. It is known by several local names, including Cantigi Ungu, Mentigi, Manis Rejo, and Delima Manda. To date, genetic data reports on this plant remain limited. Genetic conservation efforts are necessary to ensure the sustainability, availability, and preservation of this plant’s germplasm, as well as to determine its conservation status. This study aims to analyze the phylogenetic relationships of Cantigi Ungu plants growing in the highlands of West Java based on Internal Transcribed Spacer (ITS) gene sequences. The research was conducted on three Cantigi Ungu plants collected from the highlands of West Java, specifically within the Mount Gede Pangrango National Park area, Mount Tangkuban Parahu Nature Park, and Kawah Putih, and their ITS gene sequences were compared. ITS gene amplification was performed using the forward primer ITS_u1 (5′-GGA AGK ARA AGT CGT AAC AAG G-3′) and the reverse primer ITS_u4 (5′-RGT TTC TTT TCC TCT GCT TA-3′). Phylogenetic analysis was conducted using MEGA XI software with the Maximum Likelihood (ML), Minimum Evolution (ME), Neighbor-Joining (NJ), and Maximum Parsimony (MP) methods. The results showed that the Cantigi Ungu samples analyzed in this study belong to the same species as the reference species, Vaccinium varingifolium, with accession number AY274564.1.

Abstract

Indonesia's envision to become a high-income, self-reliant nation in technology by 2045, as articulated in the Indonesia Emas 2045 vision, depends heavily on a resilient and innovative health technology ecosystem (Sadwika, 2026). Two similar but frequently conflated professions underpin this ecosystem: Electromedical Engineering (Teknik Elektromedik), a vocational discipline regulated under Kepmenkes No. 371/2007 and represented by the Ikatan Ahli Teknik Elektromedik Indonesia (IKATEMI), and Biomedical Engineering (BME), an academic-research discipline oriented toward medical technology innovation and represented by the Konsorsium Ilmu Biomedical Engineering Indonesia (KIBI). Employing a narrative policy-analysis approach, this article synthesizes regulatory documents, institutional reports, and peer-reviewed studies published between 2007 and 2024, selected for their direct relevance to electromedical and biomedical engineering regulation, education, and workforce conditions in Indonesia. Evidence was thematically coded and triangulated across regulatory, academic, and institutional sources to clarify professional boundaries, competencies, and regulatory status, and to examine the persistent role confusion, workforce shortages, and fragmented governance hindering Indonesia's medical technology sector. We argue that Electromedical Engineering constitutes the operational basis of clinical safety and equipment reliability, while Biomedical Engineering drives domestic innovation, import substitution, and policy advocacy. Rather than competing jurisdictions, these professions represent complementary links in a single value chain, from device conception to bedside maintenance. Guided by this synthesis, the article proposes an integrated strategic agenda spanning regulatory harmonization, curriculum strengthening, research funding expansion, and international collaboration, concluding that deliberate synergy between these two professions is indispensable to achieving Indonesia's health technology sovereignty by 2045.

Abstract

The integration of scientific concepts with religious values is an important aspect of developing holistic education, particularly in biology learning that aims not only to improve cognitive achievement but also to strengthen students’ spiritual attitudes. However, biology learning, especially on psychotropic materials, often remains focused on conceptual understanding and has limited connections with students’ real-life experiences and moral awareness. This study aimed to examine the effectiveness of cooperative learning using the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) approach based on thematic Quranic verses on students’ learning outcomes and spiritual attitudes in psychotropic material. This research employed a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental method using a nonequivalent control group design. The research sample consisted of 27 students of class XI science at MAN 4 Bantul, divided into an experimental group and a control group. Data were collected through learning outcome tests and spiritual attitude questionnaires, while data analysis was conducted using validity, reliability, N-gain, paired sample t-test, and independent sample t-test. The results showed that the experimental class experienced greater improvement in learning outcomes with an N-gain score of 0.43 (medium category) compared with the control class with an N-gain score of 0.25 (low category). Statistical analysis revealed significant differences between groups, while the experimental class also demonstrated higher spiritual attitude scores. In conclusion, cooperative learning integrated with CTL and thematic Quranic verses effectively enhances students’ biological understanding and contributes to strengthening spiritual values in learning.

Abstract

The eradication of extreme poverty remains a major challenge in Indonesia, requiring effective social protection policies supported by accurate, integrated, and up-to-date beneficiary data. Previous social protection systems, particularly the Integrated Social Welfare Data (DTKS), have faced problems related to inclusion and exclusion errors, resulting in ineffective targeting of social assistance programs. To address these issues, the Indonesian government introduced Presidential Instruction No. 4 of 2025 concerning the National Single Social and Economic Database (DTSEN) as a strategic reform to strengthen data governance and improve poverty alleviation efforts. This study aims to analyze the optimization of DTSEN implementation in supporting social protection policy reform and accelerating the eradication of extreme poverty in Indonesia. This research employed a qualitative approach with a policy analysis and literature review design. Data were collected from government regulations, institutional reports, academic publications, and relevant international studies, which were analyzed using descriptive qualitative analysis. The findings indicate that DTSEN provides significant opportunities to improve social assistance targeting, increase budget efficiency, support evidence-based policymaking, and strengthen transparency and accountability in social protection programs. However, its implementation faces challenges, including data integration, infrastructure readiness, human resource capacity, privacy protection, and coordination among institutions. In conclusion, DTSEN represents an important transformation toward a more adaptive, accurate, and inclusive social protection system. Successful implementation requires continuous data validation, strong institutional collaboration, technological improvement, and active community participation to achieve the national goal of eliminating extreme poverty.
