Abstract

Competition between hospitals is currently increasing as the public's demand for fast, comfortable, and quality health services grows. In this situation, hospitals need to have a clear competitive strategy to be able to maintain patient trust and preferences. Patient loyalty is not only influenced by the results of treatment, but also by the overall service experience, such as the attitude of health workers, the availability of facilities, the timeliness of services, and the ease of the administrative process. The higher the patient loyalty, the higher the hospital's competitiveness, because patient loyalty creates a sustained competitive advantage through repeat visits, competency resilience, and positive recommendations. The purpose of this study was to analyze the application of cost leadership, differentiation, and focus strategies at  RSU Mahkota Bidadari in order to increase patient loyalty. The research method used was descriptive with a qualitative approach, involving 4 resource persons from various hospital divisions such as the president director, service manager, doctor on duty and patients. RSU Mahkota Bidadari's competitiveness strategy in increasing patient loyalty is achieved through the integrated implementation of cost leadership, differentiation, and focus strategies by emphasizing standard-based service efficiency, humanistic and professional medical services, and consistency of service quality, thereby building patient trust, satisfaction, and loyalty in a sustainable manner. This research makes a theoretical contribution by expanding the understanding of the application of hospital competitiveness strategies in increasing patient loyalty, while integrating the concept of strategic management with health services.

Abstract

An irrigation area is a unit of land that receives water from a single irrigation network, consisting of the area to be irrigated and the main structure of the irrigation network. There are various types of irrigation, such as surface irrigation, swamp irrigation, and pump irrigation, which are used to support agriculture. The irrigation areas in Jayawijaya Regency are managed by local farmers, using a rudimentary irrigation system that relies on rivers and rainwater. Considering the potential of existing natural resources, the performance of Jayawijaya Regency's irrigation areas needs to be optimised to increase local rice production to meet the region's food needs and boost farmers' incomes. Geological conditions in an area are the result of changes in rocks due to plate tectonic processes. Plate tectonics is the relative movement between one plate and another. When the plates move, the distance between two locations on different plates gradually changes. Changes in the geological structure are indicated by the distribution of folds and faults around the movement of the plates. This is what happened in Jayawijaya Regency, where its position is on the Indo-Australian Plate, the Eurasian Plate, and the Pacific Plate, causing the distribution of rock types (lithology types or stratigraphic units, whether igneous, sedimentary, or metamorphic rocks) and stratigraphic relationships.

Abstract

This study examines the legal antinomy that arises between Article 7 paragraph (1) of Law Number 40 of 2007 concerning Limited Liability Companies (Undang-Undang Perseroan Terbatas, UUPT), which requires the establishment of a company by a minimum of two people, and Article 153A paragraph (1) of Law Number 11 of 2020 concerning Job Creation (Undang-Undang Cipta Kerja, UUCK), which allows the establishment of an Individual Company by one person for micro and small businesses. Furthermore, this study analyses the implications of the conflict between these norms and the provisions of Article 2 paragraph (1) of the Financial Services Authority Regulation Number 41 of 2024 concerning Microfinance Institutions (Peraturan Otoritas Jasa Keuangan Lembaga Keuangan Mikro, POJK LKM), which regulates the establishment of a legal entity of Microfinance Institutions (MFIs) in the form of limited liability companies (Perseroan Terbatas, PT). This study uses a normative juridical method with a legislative approach and a conceptual approach. The results of the study show that there is a partial antinomy between the norms of the UUPT and the UUCK, where the provisions of the UUCK as lex posterior and lex specialis apply to the establishment of a company by micro and small business actors. With regard to MFIs, the provisions of POJK Number 41 of 2024 do open opportunities for MFIs to form PTs, but the application of Article 153A to MFIs requires the fulfilment of the criteria for micro and small businesses as stipulated in laws and regulations, so that not all MFIs in the form of PTs can be automatically established by one person.

Abstract

The development of discussions on the application of parametric architecture methods in scientific paper publications in Indonesia has increased over the last 10 years. This is greatly influenced by technological developments that have had an impact on helping visualise design ideas in the field of architecture. The purpose of this study is to analyse the development of the application of parametric architecture in Indonesia through data on the discussion of scientific papers published on Google Scholar in the last 10 years. The study also aims to determine how technology has been applied in the development of this method. With 86 publications related to the theme of discussion, the study employed bibliometric analysis methods and literature studies to help observe the purpose of the application and the use of digital technology. The results show that the majority of scientific publications are still concentrated in the context of conceptual design rather than constructive design. This study also highlights the potential for further research on parametric architecture in the use of parameters and algorithms for design exploration, shape optimisation, and material efficiency. These findings can be integrated with the context of local culture, climate, and the social needs of the Indonesian people.

Abstract

This is an observational study with a retrospective approach conducted using medical record data from geriatric polyclinic patients at Wangaya Hospital from December 2025 to February 2026. Samples were obtained using the total sampling method from medical records. This study included patients over 65 years of age who had measurements of weight, height, SARC-F value, and hand grip strength. The diagnosis of sarcopenia and its components (high SARC-F, low hand grip strength, low muscle mass index, and sarcopenia) were associated with the incidence of metabolic syndrome. Data are presented as numerical values, percentages, and prevalence ratio (PR) accompanied by a 95% confidence interval (CI). Statistical testing was performed using the Fisher Exact Test, with significance set at P < 0.05. Bivariate analysis was conducted to examine the association of each component with metabolic syndrome. The results show that hand grip strength (PR 0.55, CI 0.14–1.01, P = 0.05) has an almost significant relationship, and low muscle mass index (PR 0.55, CI 0.08–0.91, P = 0.04) has a significant relationship with metabolic syndrome. Other components, such as SARC-F score (PR 0.55, CI 0.13–1.20, P = 0.10) and sarcopenia (PR 0.48, CI 0.07–1.79, P = 0.28), did not show a significant association with metabolic syndrome. The findings are not conclusive. Further research is recommended using a larger sample size and standard reference methods such as dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry (DXA), bioelectrical impedance analysis (BIA), computed tomography (CT), or magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) to calculate muscle mass.

Abstract

Hypertension, defined as systolic blood pressure ≥140 mmHg and/or diastolic blood pressure ≥90 mmHg, affects 34.1% of Indonesia's population according to the Indonesian Basic Health Research. Uncontrolled and long-standing high blood pressure can damage the glomerular structure, leading to decreased kidney function characterized by increased urea and creatinine levels, as well as a reduced glomerular filtration rate (eGFR), which is the main indicator for staging chronic kidney disease. The purpose of the study is to analyze the relationship between the duration of hypertension and kidney function biomarkers, namely creatinine, urea, and estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR), in hypertensive patients. This research method uses an observational analytical design with a purposive sampling technique, involving a total of 30 patients with grade 1 and grade 2 hypertension. The results of the examination of kidney function biomarkers (creatinine, urea, and eGFR) in relation to the duration of hypertension, based on the nonparametric Kendall's tau correlation test, showed no significant relationship between creatinine values and duration of hypertension (p = 0.061, p > 0.05), nor between urea values and duration of hypertension (p = 0.198, p > 0.05); however, a significant relationship was found between eGFR and duration of hypertension (p = 0.006, p < 0.05). Thus, it can be concluded that eGFR is a potential biomarker in laboratory examinations for assessing the risk of kidney damage complications in hypertensive patients. It is recommended that people with hypertension undergo regular kidney function checks in order to reduce the risk of long-term complications.

Abstract

This research examines the phenomenon of double regulation within correctional institutions—namely the coexistence and conflict between formal state rules and informal inmate norms—through a comparative analysis of Class I Cipinang Prison and Class IIA Batam Detention Center. The research is grounded in the evolving forms of pains of imprisonment in modern correctional systems, including procedural strain (tightness), impunity, and social stratification that shape prison culture. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, the study seeks to understand the social dynamics, bureaucratic practices, and power relations among actors inside prisons. The data were analyzed contextually to uncover the mechanisms through which dual systems of regulation emerge and affect prisoners' lived experiences and officers' conduct. Findings reveal that double regulation is shaped by complex social stratification (particularly in Cipinang Prison) and direct officer-inmate interactions that allow informal norms to fill gaps in formal regulations (notably in Batam Prison). Overcrowding intensifies officers' discretion, informal negotiations, and mutualistic consolidation between colleagues and staff, resulting in normative uncertainty, continuous psychological strain, and weakened rehabilitation and correctional programs. Nonetheless, prison culture also provides temporary operational stability through mechanisms of internal control. The study recommends structural reform, stronger accountability systems, institutional cultural transformation, harmonization of standard operating procedures, and further comparative research to reduce the adverse effects of double regulation and improve correctional governance in Indonesia.

Abstract

This paper critically examines H&M's Garment Collecting Program as a behavioural intervention framed under circular fashion and sustainability. The study investigates whether the scheme functions as an ethical application of nudge theory or operates as a pseudo-nudge and behavioural prod that reinforces fast fashion consumption under a green narrative. Using a qualitative descriptive case study, the research draws on desk-based analysis of H&M's official communications, sustainability reports, voucher terms, and relevant academic and analytical sources. Qualitative content analysis is applied to assess four key dimensions of the program's design and communication: transparency of information, structure and strength of incentives, temporal conditions shaping decision-making, and the moral framing of participation. The findings show that the program relies predominantly on Type 1 nudges that trigger automatic responses through immediate discounts, limited transparency regarding post-collection material flows, and simplified claims of circular impact. This configuration facilitates moral licensing and generates psychic cost, enabling consumers to feel ethically compensated while remaining embedded in high-volume consumption patterns. When combined with strong purchase-oriented incentives and constrained resistibility, the intervention aligns more closely with pseudo-nudging and behavioural prodding, and supports a diagnosis of greenwashing by design. The paper argues that ethically robust nudging in circular fashion requires transparent intent, easily resistible choice architectures, proportionate incentives, and verifiable environmental outcomes, and offers principles for redesigning garment collection schemes accordingly.

Abstract

Chronic diseases are conditions that typically develop slowly and have a lengthy duration, as defined by the World Health Organization (WHO). Genetic, physiological, environmental, and behavioural factors are the causes of these conditions, which present concerns at the national, regional, and global levels. By 2030, an epidemiological transition from infectious diseases to non-communicable diseases is projected to occur. The purpose of this study is to determine the factors that affect the utilisation of chronic disease programs in Sorong City. This research employs a cross-sectional design and is an analytical observational study. The total sample size is 197, selected using proportional random sampling. Data analysis was conducted using SPSS version 26, encompassing chi-square tests and multiple logistic regression. The study's findings indicate that the utilisation of the chronic disease management program (Program Pengelolaan Penyakit Kronis, Prolanis) is significantly influenced by knowledge (p = 0.007), family support (p = 0.026), and support from health personnel (p = 0.014). The multivariate analysis identified knowledge (p = 0.003) and support from health personnel (p = 0.046) as the most closely associated factors, with the knowledge variable being the most significant. Community health centre staff can provide Prolanis participants with clear and accurate information about the illnesses they are managing by extending consultation time.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the implementation of risk management as a predictor of performance planning quality at the Ministry of Home Affairs. The study is motivated by the low Risk Management Index (RMI) score within the Ministry, which indicates that risk management implementation has not yet run effectively and has not been consistently integrated into organizational management processes. The paradox between the low Risk Management Index (RMI) and the relatively high performance planning score at the Ministry of Home Affairs reveals a gap between the normative condition that requires the integration of risk management into performance planning and the empirical reality observed in the field, a condition worthy of further examination. This research employs a quantitative explanatory approach, with purposive sampling used to select 66 Civil Servants (Aparatur Sipil Negara/ASN) who are directly involved in performance planning and/or risk management processes within the Ministry of Home Affairs. The findings indicate that risk management implementation at the Ministry of Home Affairs has not yet been fully integrated into organizational management processes. On the other hand, the quality of performance planning is perceived to be relatively good based on the perceptions of civil servants. The study reveals a paradox between the low Risk Management Index (RMI) score and the high achievement of the Government Agency Performance Accountability System (AKIP).
