Abstract

This meticulous and comprehensive study aims to provide a thorough overview of the validation results of the ten System Usability Scale (SUS) indicators from the perspectives of experts and ordinary users. The study meticulously compares the validation results of SUS scores in expert and ordinary user groups. The validation results of SUS scores in the expert group are derived from a comprehensive analysis of SUS evaluation results, heuristic evaluation, and interviews with three usability experts. Similarly, the validation results of SUS scores in the ordinary user group are obtained from a rigorous comparison of SUS evaluation results, remote moderated usability testing, and interviews with five ordinary users. While inconclusive, this study's findings shed light on four crucial points. First, there are no universally valid validation results of SUS scores in all SUS indicators from expert and ordinary user perspectives. Second, the ease of use indicator is the only one with a complete and valid evaluation result from the expert perspective. Third, the intuitiveness indicator, while full, yields invalid evaluation results from the standpoint of ordinary users. Fourth, a weak relationship is observed between SUS scores and the results of heuristic evaluation and usability testing. These findings, derived from a robust and meticulous methodology, are expected to significantly contribute to the existing research in application usability, particularly in the context of SUS usage.

Abstract

In the current era of rapid technological advancements, there is a significant increase in the demand for technology applications, which are evolving at an astonishing pace. Consequently, obtaining appointments for minor illnesses at hospitals became increasingly difficult due to the overwhelming number of COVID-19 cases. However, being resilient as Filipinos are, the majority tried to find alternative ways to treat minor health concerns by using herbal plants. This study aims to determine the key functionalities required in a mobile application to facilitate innovative learning approaches and effectively enhance students' knowledge and understanding of herbal plants, including their applications and uses. Convolutional neural network is used to develop a real-time image-based recognition system for herbal plants and flowers and a dataset of herbal plants and flowers photos were used to train the system. The mobile application system's functionalities were assessed by learners using ISO 25010, and the findings reveal that the system can identify various herbal plants and flowers with high accuracy. It was concluded that the mobile application functionalities (3.92) are the highest consideration in designing the mobile application to achieve innovative learning when it comes to plants as compared to portability (3.86), usability (3.85), reliability (3.80), and maintainability (3.64).

Abstract

Work In Progress Form is a tool that is used to assess the occupational safety and health program of contractors. However, the Work in Progress Form currently used is made using only best practices. which can increase the risk of work accidents because it does not follow SMK3. Therefore, adjustments need to be made to the current Work in Progress Form. After adjustments were made, the Work In Progress Form which was initially only following 18 of 64 criteria of SMK3 based on PP No. 50 of 2012 at the Initial Level, then after being adjusted, it now follows 38 of 64 SMK3 at initial Level. The implementation of SMK3 at Initial Level was chosen because it's in the project phase. Back then, contractors always got 100% score. When an assessment was carried out using the adjusted Work In Progress Form, for the contractor PLN NPC received score of 90.53% in April 2024 then increased to 95.52% in May 2024. Meanwhile, for the contractor PLN NPS in April 2024, PLN NPS received a score of 88.06% then increased to 93.28% in May 2024. It’s because the form is more in line with SMK3 PP No. 50 of 2012 Initial Level.

Abstract

The academic promotion process faces various challenges that cause delays for faculty members in reaching higher ranks. This research aims to identify and analyze the factors contributing to delays in the academic promotion process. The research method used is a quantitative approach, with data collection techniques involving the distribution of questionnaires to faculty members who are currently undergoing or about to undergo the academic promotion process. The research results indicate that the lack of transparency in rules, policy changes, evaluation complexity, communication limitations, and institutional support all have a significant and equal impact on the challenges of academic promotion, with each factor having a coefficient of 0.2000. The R-squared and Adjusted R-squared values of 1.000 indicate that this model can explain the entire variation in academic promotion challenges. The high statistical significance of all coefficients suggests that these results are almost certainly not due to chance. Data analysis also shows that there is little autocorrelation in the model's residuals, and the residual distribution is nearly normal. These findings highlight the importance of transparency, policy consistency, effective communication, and institutional support in the academic promotion process. Improvements in these areas are expected to reduce the challenges faced by faculty members during the promotion process

Abstract

Drones, or Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs), are widely used in various applications, most notably military surveillance. This abstract describes a PC-based drone system designed specifically for surveillance in camp areas. The system incorporates advanced features such as real-time video streaming and autonomous flight capabilities to improve security and situational awareness in military environments. The drone, a hexacopter equipped with high-resolution cameras, captures live video transmitted to a ground control station (GCS) running on a PC for immediate monitoring and analysis. This allows troops in charge of camp security to quickly access critical information. The PC-based drone's standout feature is its autonomous flight capability, enabling it to follow predetermined routes using GPS and navigation devices, or it can be remotely controlled via the PC-based ground station. The research demonstrated the drone's effectiveness in detecting and tracking objects, including vehicles and people, thereby enhancing security measures at military camps. However, limitations such as range, battery life, and potential interference were noted. Further research is necessary to optimize the system for specific surveillance scenarios. Overall, the study underscores the potential of PC-based drones for military surveillance and lays the groundwork for future advancements.

Abstract

The primary issue in this study is the high incidence of nosocomial infections, indicating the need to evaluate the effectiveness of infection control strategies. The objective of this study is to analyze the relationship between various infection control strategies and the incidence of nosocomial infections, along with other related factors. The method used is a correlation analysis between infection control strategies, the incidence of nosocomial infections, antibiotic resistance rates, hygiene standards, patient age, patient gender, and the number of beds. The analysis results show a perfect positive correlation between infection control strategies and the incidence of nosocomial infections (r = 1.00), indicating that the implementation of effective strategies can significantly reduce nosocomial infections. A moderate positive correlation was found between infection control strategies and antibiotic resistance rates (r = 0.50) as well as hygiene standards (r = 0.52), suggesting that good strategies can also reduce antibiotic resistance and improve cleanliness. Conversely, the correlation between infection control strategies and the number of beds (r = 0.06) and patient age (r = -0.09) is weak, indicating that these factors do not significantly influence the effectiveness of the strategies. These findings underscore the importance of focusing on hygiene and infection control policies to reduce nosocomial infections and antibiotic resistance.

Abstract

In Indonesia, the use of blockchain in the context of electronic health records is still in its early stages. Current regulations are more focused on the application of blockchain in the financial and fintech sectors. Meanwhile, the healthcare sector, especially concerning electronic health records, lacks a clear legal framework for this technology. This situation raises concerns about protecting patient rights and data privacy, which are critical aspects of medical ethics. This research aims to examine the legal and ethical framework related to the use of blockchain technology in electronic health records in Indonesia. The research method employed is a normative legal approach with conceptual and statutory approaches derived from secondary data. The results are then analyzed qualitatively. The findings indicate that blockchain has the potential to revolutionize the management of electronic health records (EHR) in Indonesia, in line with Regulation of the Minister of Health No. 24 of 2022. This technology ensures the security, integrity, and transparency of medical data through permanent, immutable records, adhering to principles of confidentiality and data integrity. Blockchain also enables more accountable access management. However, its implementation must consider ethical issues, including patient privacy and regulatory compliance. With the right approach, blockchain can become a foundation for a secure and trustworthy digital health system in Indonesia.
