Abstract

The length of employment and the level of employee education significantly affect how employees carry out their tasks, particularly the use of self-protection devices (APD) in hospitals. APD usage is essential for reducing risks, especially for road care workers who face high infection risks due to the daily turnover and delayed treatment of patients. Unlike general hospital patients who stay for an average of two to five days, road care workers encounter new patients constantly, increasing their infection risk. This study aims to examine the impact of employment length and education level on APD compliance among RSUD road care employees in Karanganyar district. Using quantitative methods, the research was conducted at RSUD Karanganyar, involving 64 road care workers selected through stratified and random sampling. Data were collected via questionnaires and analyzed using double linear regression. The results indicated that both employment length and education level significantly influence APD compliance among RSUD road care workers, with a significance value of 0.049 < 0.05. In conclusion, both work duration and educational background play a crucial role in ensuring APD compliance among these workers.

Abstract

One of the efforts to create a quality generation is by providing stimulation from an early age (4-6 years) to optimize children's golden age so that they grow into individuals who are cognitively intelligent, affectively capable and psychomotor skilled. One aspect of development that needs to be stimulated is the motor aspect. Fine motor skills are the ability to move small muscles such as fingers, especially those that require precision, eye and hand coordination. One interesting way of stimulating fine motor skills is the papercraft method. This research aims to determine the effectiveness of the papercraft method on the development of fine motor skills in early childhood. The research design uses a quantitative experimental one group pre-post test method. The sampling technique is purposive sampling. The sample was 23 group A kindergarten students (4-5 years). The research instrument used papercraft media and fine motor assessment sheets. The research stages consisted of 3 stages, namely stage I pretest, stage II providing intervention and stage III posttest. The data analysis used was the t-test. The results of the research before being given intervention on children's fine motor skills were in the majority in the Starting to Develop category (65.2%), and after being given the intervention the majority were in the Very Well Developing category (47.8%). The results of data analysis t-Count > t-Table means that there is a significant difference in children's fine motor skills before and after being given papercraft stimulation. Conclusion: The papercraft stimulation method is effective in improving the fine motor skills of young children.

Abstract

Orthopaedic surgery such as surgery on the pelvis and knee bones has a high risk of developing Deep Vein Thromoembolism (DVT), especially in patients with hypercoagulability. Venous thromboembolism is the main cause of morbidity and mortality in orthopedic patients that can be prevented using thromboprophylaxis, but on the other hand is related to the risk of bleeding side effects. The study aimed to evaluate the safety of oral Rivaroxaban prophylaxis in patients after Total Hip and Knee Replacement. This research applied cross sectional technique. Retrospective data were taken from the medical records of Dr. Moewardi Surakarta, period January 2023- July 2024. The data taken are secondary data from the patient's medical record by recording clinical symptoms that appear. Rivaroxaban safety evaluation includes the incidence rate of bleeding as well as the factors that influence the occurrence of bleeding. A total of 38 patients met the inclusion criteria of the study. Bleeding occurred in 4 cases (10.5%). Factors that affect the incidence of bleeding renal failure (p = 0.001). Monitoring of Rivaroxaban side effects is indispensable. Pharmaceuticals can play an important role in monitoring and preventing the occurrence of bleeding by paying attention to risk factors, especially kidney failure.

Abstract

Free radicals are reactive oxygen compounds that are known to be compounds that have free or unpaired electrons. Free radicals will look for new partners so that they will easily bind to other substances such as proteins, fats, and DNA in the body, resulting in cell damage and causing various degenerative diseases. To overcome the negative effects of free radicals, a substance that acts as an antioxidant is needed. Sonneratia Ovata or often called pedada by coastal communities is often used to treat various diseases including diabetes, ulcers, analgesic diarrhea, inflammation, pain and accelerate wound healing. This study aims to examine the levels of flavonoid compounds in the ethanol extract of S. ovata leaves using the colorimetric method and antioxidant activity using the ABTS method (2,2 azinobis (3-ethylbenzothiazolin-6- sulfonic acid) and DPPH (2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl) on the ethanol extract of S. ovata leaves. The research process began with the extraction of S. ovata leaves with 96% ethanol, followed by determination of total flavonoid levels and antioxidant testing. From the results of the determination of total flavonoid levels, it was found that the ethanol extract of S. ovata leaves had a flavonoid content of 38,248 ± 0.142 mgQE/gram. In measuring antioxidant activity using the DPPH and ABTS methods, the IC50 values were 31.785 ± 0.047 ppm and 28.303 ± 0.558 ppm, respectively. Based on these results, the ethanol extract of S. ovata provided very strong antioxidant activity with an IC50 value of less than 50 ppm.
