Abstract

Bauxite tailing is a by product of bauxite washing. The amount of waste from the bauxite tailings can reach about 50% of the dry weight of the bauxite before washed. The increasing demand for bauxite causes the amount of exhaust produced to be even greater. This risks causing environmental pollution problems requiring an alternative treatment and one of the solutions is utilize the bauxite tailings as a mixture of sand substitutes in the manufacture of paving blocks. The role of sand is replaced by a 50% increase in market price so that in this study a compressive strength test will be conducted on the strength of paving blocks with sand mixture (as sold in the market) with paving blocks with bauxite tailings mixed then comparison. This utilization is to minimize the environmental impacts, to reduce the accumulation of materials at the washing site, and in the future can be increasing value products that become business opportunities for affected communities due to bauxite mining. Based on the research, there is a found the average value of uniaxial compressive strength of sampel 50% : 50% is 17.19 Mpa. That is smaller than the value of uniaxial compressive strength of sampel 60% : 40%, 17.62 MPa. The meaning of compressive strength value of the sample is 60%: 40% more optimal than the sample with the ratio 50%: 50% because the value of compressive strength is included in SNI-03-0691-1996 ie on the quality of B.

Abstract

At the University of Surakarta , especially in Computer Systems Studies Program , there have their own library . Nevertheless , the books contained in the library , yet can be used by students of Computer Systems . This is because there is no system to regulate the governance of the library . Based on these problems , the researchers were motivated to create a library of application program is implemented by the library for Computer System Studies Program University of Surakarta. In making the application program this library , before making the database . Researchers collecting data first. When the necessary data has been collected, and researcher to design and manufacture a database . Databases created using MySQL . Then create a library of application program using Visual Basic 6.0 . After that create a report using Crystal Report 8.5 . When making the application program has been completed, a periodic testing program to detect if an error in the program. Implement a computerized system in the library of the University of Surakarta Computer Systems can ease the workload of the librarian. Besides process transactions, borrowing , repayment transaction and the book search can be done more easily and more quickly .

Abstract

The natural drying proses that is required to dry pellet fish have some shortages, such as : a long time and need some time reversal process. Because of this dryer is designed using artificial heating system with forced convection. Dryers is designed for the capacity of 2 kg per hour. It has components : dryer room, plats, space heating, hot conduit, a chanel for the fan and the evaporation air stream through all the components. LPG is used as fuel and heating burner is completed with an on off system controler. To dry 2 kg of fish pellet with 30% to 15% water content required 5 pieces of plats 30 cm x 30 cm dry air flowrate 17 m3/menit. After drying, the water can be evaporated from pellet was 0,3 kg. In one-time process dryer can produce 1,7 kg pellet. From the test conducted, the time required to dry 2 kg of fish pellet only takes 32 minutes. With room temperature is set 60-80 oC.

Abstract

Geoelectric resistivity method is a geophysical method commonly used in the interpretation of the subsurface by injecting an electric current down the surface to obtain information about the distribution of the value of resistivity of the rock. This study aims to identify the structure of a quartz vein (vein) which is thought to contain gold mineral at the location x. Measurements carried out as many as three tracks with electrodes spaced 5 meters, each 75 meters long, and the penetration depth of 15 meters from surface. Results obtained from the data processing is done with a software tool Res2dinv the form of a cross section 2D resistivity. From the data processing is seen that possible zonasilification as quartz vein (vein) and is thought to contain gold mineral found at an elevation of 602-610 meters . While the 3D model of the interpolated trajectory I and II shown that uric guess shaped Massive Vein.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the method of estimation and data processing are suitable to the lognormal distribution data. Data obtained from the assay data of gold vein mineralization from Gunung Pongkor, West Java. Data provided are relatively only a few or not proportionate to the volume of mineral bodies, range of space (average 50 m to the north), as well as lognormal distribution data. Data collection was enlarged by conducting composites within 1 m, resulting in 828 points. Furthermmineral, the data is divided into the data without a top cut and the data with a top cut, for the benefit to estimate data also has been transformated into logarithm. Variogram modeling performed on each data to get a geostatistical parameters. The estimation method that used are methods such as of Ordinary Kriging (OK), Lognormal Ordinary Kriging (OLK) and Sichel's t-estimator. The criteria used suitably is the correlation coefficient value estimation results with actual levels valued mmineral than 0.6. Assumptions for the best method is the method that has the best accuracy between the regression line with line bisector and for the method that has a variance estimation is a method which has an average smallest variance estimation. The cumulative distribution curve estimation results show the difference in the results of the estimates using the data without a top cut and the data with a top cut. This research resulted in the values of the correlation coefficient from the three methods are mmineral than 0.6. The most appropriate regression line with a line bisektor is Lognormal Ordinary Kriging method (OLK) both use the data without a top cut and the data with a top cut and the average of smallest variance estimation is a method of Ordinary Kriging (OK) that use data with the top cut.

Abstract

Oil palm nut plantation and factory shows fluctuated development. One of the indicators is that the CPO (Cruid Palm Oil) cost is getting better. The rapid progress of science and technology currently influences the production process in factory so it becomes more effective and efficient. Specifically, Ripple Mill Type KCM 6T is a kind of high technology machine that is operated to crack palm fruit and separate the kernel from its shell. To keep the machine working in a good condition, it is a must to pay attention on the method to maintain it. Particular preventative maintenance method is needed to do to avoid some failures of the machine or engine so it can be used for longer time. Regular field survey needs to be done to collect concrete information about the latest condition of engine/ machine and the result of survey must be written down into control card and maintenance card. These cards can be reminder for the user to monitor the engine/ machine condition and as an effort to keep the cracker works optimally.

Abstract

Library is one of the supporting facilities that help in the provision of information resources in the education process, because the library provides facilities for lending books without burdened with any cost. To facilitate the process of searching and lending services by the borrower against the library, it takes a system that allows library members to access library services, especially the process of borrowing books online using aplicasimobile librarybased android. The success and development of android is currently able to occupy the highest position of the market gadgets and computers, this is certainly thanks to the sophistication of technology systems and applications that exist in it which is currently a trend among mobile phone users because it can help all areas of work so it becomes easier . The advantages of this android is located in an opensource license so it is possible for anyone who has android programming capabilities to create or develop various applications to run on android based gadgets. This application is one of the technological development that is very helpful in facilitating library services based on mobile android course with android gadget device that has been installed this application.

Abstract

Indonesia had once become the fuel exporter, it now becomes the fuel importer. To overcome this crisis, then the best option is to increase the utilization of the alternative energy, like what has been conducted in other countries; both developed and developing countries. Renewable energy is a non-fossil energy derived from nature which is designed and cared in such way, it will not be discharged because the amount is unlimited, for example: solar panels, biomass, bioethanol, water energy, heat energy, nuclear energy, tidal energy, wave energy and others. The aim of this research are: 1) to determine the stages in manufacturing process of mini hydro from the early machining process until the final process of quality control, 2) to determine the calculation of the time and costs in the manufacturing process of mini hydro in details. From the analysis of the cost and the manufacturing process of mini hydro, where the generator produces electric energy maximum of 1 KW, driven by a waterwheel that uses frame brackets 50 x 50 x 5 mm, the total cost of making the mini hydro is IDR 6.423.900, it is obtained from the sum of the costs which have been calculated, such as manufacturing cost IDR 5.444.000, design cost IDR 544.400 and unexpected cost IDR 435.500. The required total time in the manufacturing process of mini hydro is 14 hours. The use of micro-hydro energy can be used as an alternative renewable energy to overcome the problems of large power consumption and the provision of electrical energy that is not evenly distributed, especially in rural areas. The use of this micro-hydro is in accordance with the environmental conditions in Indonesia which has a lot of hills and rivers.

Abstract

The fact still difficult obtaining accurate data about the history of research lecturers UNM, the titles of studies that have been done, that finance institution, funding year, the amount of funding is often confusing. Moreover, if the data was needed example for stuffing the study program accreditation forms in which the lecturer is located, is still very difficult to obtain. This study aims to develop information systems for administrating data at research institutions in the State University of Makassar. This study uses a model type of R & D (Research and Development), the method of the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC). Research results generated in the form of a software built using web programming server to establish data management systems for research studies especially those of non-tax revenues in the Research Institute of the State University of Makassar.
