Abstract

This study is a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) aimed at analyzing the need for developing Smart Digital Learning (SDL) based on PISA-oriented problems and local wisdom to enhance junior high school students’ numeracy literacy. The review covers national and international articles relevant to SDL, mathematical literacy, Problem-Based Learning (PBL), and ethnomathematics. A total of 20635 articles were initially identified from Scopus, ERIC, Google Scholar, and Garuda databases, and through a systematic screening process, 30 studies published between 2020–2025 were selected for in-depth analysis. The reviewed literature covers topics on SDL, mathematical literacy, Problem-Based Learning (PBL), and ethnomathematics. The findings indicate that the use of digital technologies such as games and Augmented Reality effectively improves students’ motivation, problem-solving, and metacognitive abilities. In addition, the integration of PBL and local wisdom contexts strengthens students’ mathematical communication and reasoning skills. However, the literature review also reveals that studies integrating PISA, PBL, and local wisdom within a unified digital learning system remain limited. Therefore, it is necessary to develop a direction for Smart Digital Learning that not only emphasizes technological aspects but also contextualizes mathematics learning through PISA problems and cultural values. The results of this study recommend the design of SDL as an innovative learning solution capable of balancing global standards with local contexts, thereby enhancing students’ numeracy literacy in a meaningful and sustainable manner.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi kualitas pertanyaan, sikap sains, dan keterampilan psikomotor peserta didik sebagai dampak dari pelaksanaan kegiatan kokurikuler fisika berbasis kearifan lokal A’Bulo Sibatang. Pendekatan penelitian yang digunakan adalah mixed-method dengan desain eksplanatori sekuensial. Subjek penelitian melibatkan peserta didik SMA di Kabupaten Takalar yang terdiri atas dua kelompok, yaitu yang mengikuti dan yang tidak mengikuti kegiatan kokurikuler fisika berbasis A’Bulo Sibatang. Data dikumpulkan melalui tes tertulis, angket TOSRA, observasi psikomotor, serta wawancara mendalam. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa peserta didik yang mengikuti kegiatan kokurikuler memperoleh skor lebih tinggi pada ketiga variabel, yakni keterampilan psikomotor (75,77 > 69,62), kualitas pertanyaan (23,95 > 23,37), dan sikap sains (73,99 > 72,76). Kegiatan kokurikuler berbasis A’Bulo Sibatang mampu meningkatkan kemampuan bertanya reflektif, memperkuat sikap ilmiah, serta mengasah keterampilan praktikum melalui pembelajaran kontekstual yang berakar pada nilai budaya lokal. Integrasi nilai-nilai gotong royong dan kolaborasi dalam filosofi A’Bulo Sibatang memberikan kontribusi terhadap penguatan karakter ilmiah peserta didik. Dengan demikian, model kokurikuler fisika berbasis kearifan lokal layak dijadikan strategi alternatif dalam pengembangan pendidikan sains yang kontekstual, berkarakter, dan berkelanjutan.

Abstract

Kerinci memiliki kekayaan budaya yang kaya akan konsep-konsep matematika, salah satunya terlihat pada motif dan proses pembuatan kuluk. Penelitian ini diangkat dari permasalahan bahwa konsep matematika seperti barisan, kekongruenan, geometri, dan perhitungan volume yang terdapat pada kuluk belum teridentifikasi secara mendalam dan belum dimanfaatkan sebagai sumber belajar matematika berbasis budaya lokal. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan etnografi, yaitu etnografi di bidang matematika atau biasa di sebut dengan etnomatematika. Yang dilakukan di Desa Sungai Lebuh, Kecamatan Siulak, Kabupaten Kerinci. Data diperoleh melalui observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Tiga orang pengrajin kuluk dipilih sebagai informan menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Instrumen penelitian terdiri dari lembar observasi proses pembuatan kuluk, pedoman wawancara, serta dokumentasi berupa foto dan pengukuran pada bagian-bagian kuluk. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa motif persegi pada kuluk mengandung konsep barisan dan kekongruenan, sedangkan pengukuran diameter dan panjang lidah kuluk berkaitan dengan konsep geometri. Selain itu, tahap pengisian kapas pada kerangka kuluk merepresentasikan konsep volume yang relevan dalam pembelajaran. Penelitian ini berkontribusi dalam pengembangan pembelajaran matematika berbasis budaya lokal serta mendukung upaya pelestarian budaya Kerinci.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the low mathematical problem-solving ability of students at SMA Negeri 2 Percut Sei Tuan, where students experienced difficulties in solving word problems and tended to be passive during learning activities. Mathematical problem-solving ability is a crucial competence that supports logical thinking, creativity, and readiness to face real-life challenges; therefore, improving this ability is essential for students’ overall learning outcomes. The study aimed to examine the effect of the Think Pair Share (TPS) learning model assisted by Quizizz on students’ mathematical problem-solving ability. The research employed a quasi-experimental design involving two classes, each consisting of 34 students. Data were collected through questionnaires, pretests, and posttests. The experimental class was taught using the TPS learning model assisted by Quizizz, while the control class received conventional instruction. Prior analysis showed that both classes were normally distributed and had homogeneous variances. Posttest results indicated a significant difference between the experimental and control classes, with an independent two-sample t-test yielding a Sig. (2-tailed) value of 0.000 and t-count (4.783) greater than t-table (1.997). Furthermore, simple linear regression analysis produced the equation  with a significance value of 0.000, indicating that the TPS model assisted by Quizizz contributed 12.7% to students’ mathematical problem-solving ability. The findings demonstrate that the TPS learning model integrated with a gamified platform effectively enhances student engagement and mathematical problem-solving performance by creating a more interactive and motivating learning environment.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kebutuhan guru terhadap fitur-fitur yang diinginkan dalam pengembangan Bio-LAD AI, sebuah dashboard cerdas untuk memantau e-modul aplikatif-integratif materi Virus di SMA. Data dikumpulkan melalui angket yang disebarkan kepada 10 guru biologi dari SMA Negeri 17 Makassar dan SMA Negeri 1 Gowa, serta wawancara dengan satu guru perwakilan dari masing-masing sekolah. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa guru membutuhkan fitur seperti pemantauan progres siswa, feedback otomatis, notifikasi untuk intervensi, visualisasi progres, dan itur ekspor data untuk pelaporan dan analisis lebih lanjut. Fitur-fitur ini akan memungkinkan guru untuk memantau pembelajaran secara real-time, memberikan dukungan yang lebih personal, serta mempermudah pengelolaan data dan pelaporan. Temuan ini diharapkan dapat menjadi dasar bagi pengembangan Bio-LAD AI untuk meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran dan mendukung pembelajaran berdiferensiasi sesuai dengan Kurikulum Merdeka.

Abstract

This study aims to describe students’ characteristics and needs in understanding Cell Biology as a basis for developing an IN-VE (Inquiry and Virtual Experiment)-based e-module. The study employed a descriptive quantitative and qualitative approach involving 25 eleventh-grade senior high school students and three biology teachers as subjects. Data were collected through a 4-point Likert scale questionnaire consisting of five dimensions—learning difficulties, motivation and interest, metacognition, learning independence, and expectations of e-module features—as well as teacher interviews. The results indicate that students’ characteristics are marked by high learning difficulties in Cell Biology (M = 3.05) and very high motivation toward the use of digital media (M = 3.53). However, their metacognitive ability (M = 2.45) and learning independence (M = 2.73) remain at a moderate level. Students’ needs point toward interactive digital learning media with very high expectations (M = 3.48), particularly regarding features such as virtual experiment simulations, inquiry-based triggering questions, self-reflection activities, automated practice questions, and multi-device access. Teacher interviews confirm that Cell Biology is a difficult topic for students and requires innovative, interactive, and flexible digital learning media. Therefore, the findings emphasize that the development of an IN-VE-based e-module is highly relevant and urgent as a solution for Cell Biology learning, not only to support conceptual understanding but also to enhance students’ metacognition and learning independence.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the Team Games Tournament (TGT) learning model assisted by a word wall on the mathematics learning outcomes of eighth-grade students at SMP Negeri 9, Sorong City. The method used was a pre-experimental one with a One Group Pretest-Posttest design. The sample consisted of 25 students, and the research instruments in the form of pretest and posttest. Data analysis used the Shapiro-Wilk test, the Wilcoxon Signed Ranks Test, and the N-Gain test. The results showed a significant difference between pretest and posttest scores (p = 0.000 < 0.05) and an average N-Gain of 0.63 (moderate category). Learning with TGT assisted by a word wall has been proven to effectively improve students' conceptual understanding and learning motivation

Abstract

Mathematical concept understanding is an essential ability that students must master in mathematics learning to enable them to comprehend and apply mathematical ideas effectively. However, in reality, many students experience difficulties in understanding mathematical concepts due to low learning motivation, which ultimately affects their learning outcomes. This study aims to examine the relationship between learning motivation and mathematical concept understanding among Grade XII students. This research employed a quantitative approach with a correlational research design. The population consisted of 90 Grade XII students, and the sample was selected using purposive sampling from class XII IPA-1. The research instruments included a learning motivation questionnaire and a mathematical concept understanding test, both of which had been tested for validity and reliability. Data analysis techniques involved normality testing, homogeneity testing, and hypothesis testing using the Product Moment correlation method. The results showed that students’ learning motivation was categorized as high, with a percentage of 78.79%. Meanwhile, students’ mathematical concept understanding was mostly in the good and very good categories, with percentages of 51.52% and 27.27%, respectively. The hypothesis test indicated that the calculated t value (4.354) was greater than the t table value (2.040) at the 5% significance level. The correlation coefficient obtained was r = 0.616, with a coefficient of determination of 37.94%. These findings indicate that learning motivation is not the sole factor influencing students’ mathematical concept understanding; other internal and external factors also contribute.

Abstract

This aims of study are to analyze senior high school students’ learning difficulties in matrix topics and to identify their causal factors and potential instructional solutions through a Systematic Literature Review (SLR). Research on matrix learning difficulties is urgent, as matrices constitute a foundational topic for advanced mathematical concepts and their applications across various disciplines, yet many students continue to demonstrate persistent conceptual and procedural challenges. A total of 13 peer-reviewed articles published between 2014 and 2024 were systematically selected and analyzed based on three main focuses: types of learning difficulties, contributing factors, and recommended learning strategies. The findings indicate that students commonly experience difficulties in four aspects: understanding basic matrix concepts, performing matrix operations, solving contextual problems, and interpreting and constructing matrices from word problems. These difficulties are influenced by internal factors such as low mathematical ability and learning motivation, as well as external factors including social environment, limited instructional resources, and family economic conditions. This study recommends strengthening conceptual understanding, providing systematic operational practice, integrating visual learning media, and offering additional instructional support for students with limited learning resources. The results provide valuable insights for teachers, curriculum developers, and researchers to improve the quality of matrix learning at the secondary school level.

Abstract

Teacher interpersonal communication is an important factor influencing the quality of both the learning process and learning outcomes, particularly in mathematics, which is often perceived as a difficult subject by students. This study aims to analyze students’ perceptions of the interpersonal communication of mathematics teachers at SMA Negeri 3 Sungai Penuh. The study employed a descriptive quantitative approach involving 25 students as respondents. Data were collected through a closed-ended questionnaire that had been tested for validity and reliability and were supported by classroom observations. The research instrument consisted of five indicators of interpersonal communication: openness, empathy, mutual support, positive attitude, and similarity. The results indicate that students’ perceptions of mathematics teachers’ interpersonal communication are categorized as good, with percentages of 78.25% for openness, 77.75% for empathy, 78% for mutual support, 76.5% for positive attitude, and 85.25% for similarity. However, several aspects still require improvement, particularly in terms of equitable distribution of attention and appreciation of students’ efforts. These findings suggest that improving the quality of teachers’ interpersonal communication has the potential to create a more inclusive, conducive, and effective mathematics learning environment. Therefore, it is recommended that mathematics teachers continuously develop their interpersonal communication skills through reflective teaching practices and ongoing professional development to support the improvement of mathematics learning quality.
