Abstract

The quality of learning is an important factor in improving student achievement. Currently, not all students can understand and apply the material taught in class because the lessons are abstract, while what is needed are real objects for learning materials. One of the learning media that can be developed at this time is learning applications. Application-based learning media is easy to access and use for everyone, and can be done anywhere, at home or on the move, allowing users to learn on their own time. The type of research used is Research and Development (R&D). The system development method used in this study is the Waterfall model. The media developed above has gone through the validation stage. The results of the validation state that the resulting learning media is suitable for use by school students. The developed application has interesting features such as attractive images, animations. In addition, the application also displays interesting visual material. To evaluate student understanding, this application is also equipped with a quiz.

Abstract

The cooperative learning model of the Conceptual Understanding Procedures (CUPs) type is a learning model in which students are instilled in how to make conclusions on the material being studied. In addition, the CUPs cooperative learning model is based on a constructivism approach based on the belief that students construct conceptual understanding by expanding or modifying existing knowledge. This research is experimental research which aims to find out the conceptual understanding of class VII students of SMP Negeri 6 Palopo who apply the CUPs type cooperative model. The population in the study were all class VII students of SMP Negeri 6 Palopo. The data collection was carried out in 2 stages, namely the preparation stage and the data collection stage. The analysis used in this study was descriptive statistical analysis and inferential statistical analysis. The average value of gain in the experimental class is 0.78 which is in the high category while the average value of gain in the control class is 0.66 which is in the medium category. In the sig column (2-tailed) the probability value is 0.000 less than the significant value α = 0.05, then H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted, so it can be concluded that there is a difference in the increase in the ability to understand mathematical concepts of students who are taught using the CUPs type cooperative learning model and conventional learning.

Abstract

This study aims to produce science learning media for grade 5 of elementary school based on Macromedia Flash. This research was conducted using the R&D (Research and Development) method and the staged model of this research used the Waterfall model or what is often referred to as the waterfall model. The results of this study is Desktop-Based Science Learning Media Application for grade 5 elementary. This Application is consisting of main menus such as KI and KD menus, objectives menu, material menu, quiz menu, about menu and profile menu. This application has been tested using the Black Box method and tested by multimedia expert lecturers. It can be concluded that all button page views have functioned properly so that this learning media application is feasible to use.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze students' mathematical problem solving abilities applying the problem posing approach with Macromedia Flash in class X SMAN 1 Luwu. This is an experimental research with a quasi-experimental form. This study used a one group pretest posttest design. This design uses an initial test (pretest) then after being given the treatment, another measurement (posttest) is carried out. The population in the study was all 12 classes of X SMA 1 Luwu students. The sample in this study was class X MIPA 7 at SMAN 1 Luwu with a total of 25 students. The sampling technique used in this study was purposive sampling. Data analysis techniques used in this study are descriptive statistical analysis and inferential statistics. The type of t-test used is the one sample t-test. The results showed that students' mathematical problem-solving skills before applying the problem posing approach with Macromedia Flash in class X SMAN 1 Luwu, on average were in the medium category. The students' mathematical problem solving ability after applying the problem posing approach with Macromedia Flash in class X SMAN 1 Luwu, on average is in the high category. There was an increase in the mathematical problem solving ability of class X students of SMAN 1 Luwu after applying the problem posing approach with Macromedia Flash.

Abstract

Mathematical representation ability is one of the basic abilities that every student must have in examining, expressing, and exploring a mathematical idea in the form of a problem, information, definition, etc. to find an appropriate solution according to the results of the representation, whether in the form of pictures, words, tables, symbols, graphs, and patterns in mathematics. The biggest reason that hinders students' bright ideas from appearing is the weak ability of students' mathematical representations which hinders students in determining the completion of mathematical problems and even less careful in reading story problems, weak in problem analysis, inaccurate, and difficulty connecting between concepts. The subjects of this study were students of grade VIII in one of the MTs in the Angkona sub-district, which consisted of two students. The instrument used for this research is the Visualizer Verbalizer Questionnaire (VVQ). Mathematical representation ability test questions and interviews. This study used descriptive qualitative method. Based on the data analysis, it can be concluded that the students' representation abilities with the visualizer and verbalizer styles are quite good. There are several interesting things from the two research subjects, namely the Visualizer subject (SVi) in solving a problem prioritizing the visual aspect in examining each question and the information contained in the a simpler form in representing an image and illustration of a flat shape. Meanwhile, the subject verbalizer (SVe) is more likely to explore detailed and clear information in representing something related to the Pythagorean theorem.

Abstract

In connection with the biology learning process, it is known that the activities of some students are less active when the teaching and learning process takes place. Most students only receive information directly from the teacher. The class situation looks very formal and students don't get the opportunity to respond to the material presented, either by asking questions or by other activities, so they don't train students' thinking skills. Thus the objectives to be achieved in this study are: (1) To find out interest and learning outcomes in biology before and after the 5E Learning Cycle learning model is applied (2) to find out whether there is an effect of using the 5E Learning Cycle learning model on interest and learning outcomes in Biology . This type of research is experimental research. Experimental research (Experimental Research) using a quasi-experimental design with the type of One Group Pretest Posttest Design. Based on the results of the research that has been discussed, it can be concluded as follows: Interest in learning biology before being given treatment is in the medium category. After learning by using the 5E learning cycle learning model is in the high category. Student biology learning outcomes before being given treatment were in the low category, after being given treatment were in the high category. There is an effect of using the 5E learning cycle learning model on the interest and learning outcomes of class XI UPT SMA Negeri 1 Palopo.

Abstract

The background of this research was lowerness of th students’ conceptual understanding ability in mathematics. The purpose of this study was to describe the students' mathematical conceptual understanding ability in geometry material. The type of this study is descriptive qualitative research. The subjects of this research were 26 students of XI IPA 2 grade in MAN 1 Sungai Penuh. The data collection techniques used include: (1) test of mathematical conceptual understanding ability; (2) observation sheet; (3) interview; and (4) documentation. The results of this study indicate that the average of students' mathematical conceptual understanding ability is 89,65 with very good category. From the seven indicators there are four indicators with very good category, namely restating a concept, presenting concepts in various forms of mathematical representations, developing necessary or sufficient requirements of a concept, and apply the concept or problem-solving algorithm. There is one indicator with good category, namely classify objects according to certain properties according to the concept. Then there are two indicators with enough category, namely provide examples and non-examples and use, utilize, and select certain procedures.

Abstract

Miskonsepsi yang terjadi dalam pembelajaran biologi masih menjadi masalah utama. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan tujuan untuk mengambarkan miskonsepsi peserta didik pada pembelajaran sistem reproduksi manusia secara online di MAN 1 Indramayu. Subjek penelitian ialah peserta didik kelas XII MIA-1 sebanyak 21 orang dengan teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan sampling purposive. Instrumen yang digunakan ialah tes pilihan ganda yang dilengkapi indeks keyakinan peserta didik terhadap jawaban tes atau Certainty of Respon Index (CRI) dan wawancara untuk mengetahui penyebab terjadinya miskonsepsi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa 17,78% peserta didik yang mengalami miskonsepsi berada pada kategori rendah. Persentase rata-rata miskonsepsi pada indikator struktur alat reproduksi 30,9%, spermatogenesis dan oogenesis 23,8%, hormon pria 23,8%, hormon wanita 0%, siklus menstruasi 20,6%, proses fertilisasi 28,5%, kehamilan 9,5%, persalinan 4,7%, ASI 28,5%, alat kontrasepsi 16,6%, dan kelainan pada sistem reproduksi sebesar 7,14%. Hasil wawancara menunjukkan penyebab terjadinya miskonsepsi diantaranya materi yang sulit dipahami, pemikiran asosiatif, reasoning yang tidak lengkap atau tidak tepat, menggunakan pengalaman peserta didik yang salah sebagai konsepsi, serta membuat kesimpulan berdasarkan apa yang tampak, dan jaringan smartphone yang buruk. Implikasi penelitian adalah dapat dijadikan masukan bagi guru untuk merancang pembelajaran dengan model dan pendekatan yang tepat sehingga dapat mengurangi atau menghilangkan miskonsepsi siswa.

Abstract

Hypnoteaching comes from two words hypno and teaching. Hypnoteaching is a unique and imaginative learning method in which students follow the learning process in a fresh condition and are ready to accept the subject matter. This research is a quasi-experimental study with an inequivalent control group design. The subjects of this study were selected by cluster random sampling obtained by Class VII A which consisted of 22 people who applied the Hypnoteaching approach and the Control Class was Class VII B which consisted of 20 people who applied direct learning. The data collection method used is the method of documentation, observation and learning achievement tests. From the results of the research and discussion, it can be concluded that: 1) student learning outcomes in the experimental class using the Hypnoteaching learning approach obtained an average value of 84.58 and categorized as very good, 2) student learning outcomes in the control class that did not use the Hypnoteaching learning approach were obtained the average score is 73 and categorized as good, and 3) there are differences in the student mathematical learning outcomes that use the Hypnoteaching approach and those that do not use the Hypnoteaching approach in class VII SMPN 7 Kerinci.

Abstract

Sharia life insurance is an effort to help each other among customers by paying tabarru funds intended for customers who are at risk of unexpected financial losses caused by death. The purpose of this research is to determine the annual premium value of the combined -year endowment life insurance based on sharia principles with the interest rate changed to Return On Investment (ROI) which changes stochastically following the Langevin type model and obtains the ROI relationship, the term of the agreement, the amount of compensation for the annual premium of the sharia -year combined endowment term life insurance. The Monte-Carlo simulation method is applied to obtain annual premium values ​​with initial ROI values ​​equal to 0.35, 0.06 and 0.029. The results obtained in this study by applying a Monte-Carlo simulation to the calculation of the annual sharia -year joint endowment life insurance premium for joint participants are men aged 45 years, women aged 42 years, and men aged 18 years and older. A 10-year agreement with an initial ROI value of 0.35 is Rp. 6,161,275, an initial ROI value of 0.06 is Rp. 6,585,471, and an initial ROI value of 0.029 is Rp. 6,631,190. The results obtained show that the relationship between ROI, the term of the agreement and the amount of compensation for the annual endowment life insurance premium is that the smaller the initial ROI value, the greater the annual premium value.
