Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kemampuan koneksi matematis siswa di SMAN 2 Makassar dalam menyelesaikan masalah pada materi barisan dan deret. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif dengan subjek penelitian siswa kelas XI sebanyak 6 siswa dimana setiap tingkatan kemampuan memiliki masing-masing 2 siswa. Instrumen utama pada penelitian ini adalah peneliti sendiri kemudian menggunakan 2 instrumen pendukung yakni tes kemampuan koneksi matematis dan wawancara. Pengujian keabsahan data pada penelitian ini menggunakan triangulasi sumber serta triangulasi teknik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan koneksi matematis siswa pada materi barisan dan deret terdiri dari 3 tingkatan: (1) siswa dengan kemampuan tinggi mampu memenuhi ketiga indikator kemampuan koneksi dengan optimal; (2) siswa dengan kemampuan sedang secara umum telah memiliki kemampuan koneksi matematis yang baik, namun ketiga indikator kemampuan koneksi matematis belum dicapai secara optimal dikarenakan subjek seringkali melakukan kesalahan baik pada perhitungan, penulisan maupun pada penggunaan rumusnya; (3) siswa dengan kemampuan rendah belum mampu memenuhi ketiga indikator dengan optimal dikarenakan secara umum siswa hanya mampu melihat koneksi pada hal yang mendasar sehingga siswa masih belum optimal mencapai indikator. Kemudian siswa tingkat ini juga sama sekali belum mampu menghubungkan materi matematika dengan materi di luar matematika.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas penggunaan Quizizz dalam pembelajaran matematika di SMP Negeri Satap 3 Bontocani, Kabupaten Bone. Penelitian ini menggunakan one-group pretest-posttest design. Sampel dipilih menggunakan teknik stratified cluster random sampling dengan ukuran sampel 21 siswa. Perlakuan yang diberikan adalah penggunaan aplikasi Quizizz dalam pembelajaran matematika. Secara deskriptif, rata-rata hasil belajar siswa dalam kelas eksperimen di SMP Negeri Satap 3 Bontocani mengalami peningkatan yang besar dari 14,9 (pretest) menjadi 81,3 (posttest). Rata-rata normalized-gain pretest-posttest mencapai 0,8 dan tergolong kategori tinggi. Persentasi siswa yang mencapai KKM sebesar 90%. Secara inferensial, rata-rata hasil belajar siswa secara signifikan mencapai standar KKM (minimal 75 dari skor maksimal ideal 100). Demikian juga, rata-rata normalized-gain dari hasil belajar siswa secara signifikan berada di atas 0,3 (kategori sedang). Hasil ini menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan aplikasi Quizizz dalam pembelajaran matematika di SMP Negri Satap 3 Bontocani efektif.

Abstract

This study investigates how the school environment, both physical and non-physical, can support the development of middle school students’ numeracy in Indonesia. Conducted during the Kampus Mengajar program, the study used a mixed methods approach in two junior high schools in North Sulawesi. Environmental interventions included numeracy-themed visual displays, games, and integration of numeracy across subjects and projects. A total of 48 Grade 8 students were involved in pre- and post-tests, supported by interviews and observations. Results showed statistically significant improvements in students’ numeracy scores after the intervention. Qualitative data revealed that students engagement in classroom increased. Moreover, the interventions received positive perceptions from students, teachers, and principals. Both schools faced some challenges, such as space limitations and teachers engagement was mostly limited to those teaching science and mathematics. The findings suggest that designing a school environment, both physical and non-physical, that is numeracy-rich can enhance students' numeracy skills, even with limited resources. Further studies are recommended to explore long-term impacts and broader implementation.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh langsung dan pengaruh tidak langsung kemampuan penalaran matematis, kemampuan berpikir kritis, dan kemampuan berpikir kreatif terhadap hasil belajar matematika melalui kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian kuantitatif dengan metode penelitian expost facto. Desain penelitian ini menggunakan analisis jalur (path analysis). Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh SMP Negeri sekecamatan Duampanua yang terdiri dari 5 sekolah. Sampel ditentukan dengan menggunakan teknik cluster random sampling yaitu, SMPN 2 Duampanua dan SMPN 5 Duampanua. Instrumen dalam penelitian ini menggunakan instrumen tes. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah analisis deskriptif dan analisis inferensial. Hasil analisis deskriptif menunjukkan bahwa nilai rata-rata: (1) kemampuan penalaran matematis siswa yaitu, 80,85. (2) kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa yaitu, 81,30. (3) kemampuan berpikir kreatif siswa yaitu, 81,93. (4) kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa yaitu, 79,02. (5) hasil belajar matematika siswa yaitu, 79,26. Sedangkan, hasil analisis inferensial menunjukkan bahwa: (1) terdapat pengaruh langsung kemampuan penalaran matematis, kemampuan berpikir kritis, kemampuan berpikir kreatif, dan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis yang positif dan signifikan terhadap hasil belajar matematika siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri sekecamatan Duampanua; (2) terdapat pengaruh tidak langsung kemampuan penalaran matematis, kemampuan berpikir kritis, dan kemampuan berpikir kreatif yang positif dan signifikan melalui kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis terhadap hasil belajar matematika siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri sekecamatan Duampanua; (3) seluruh pengaruh langsung lebih baik daripada seluruh pengaruh tidak langsung dalam penelitian ini.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbedaan Keefektifan Penerapan Model Pembelajaran Berbasis Masalah Dengan Pendekatan Problem Posing dan Open Ended Dalam Pembelajaran Matematika Di Kelas VIII MTs. DDI Soni Kabupaten Tolitoli. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian quasi eksperimen. Desain penelitian ini adalah adalah Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII MTs. DDI Soni Kabupaten Tolitoli yang terdiri dari 6 kelas dan sampel ditentukan dengan menggunakan teknik cluster random sampling terdiri dari 2 kelas. Instrumen dalam penelitian ini adalah (1) tes hasil belajar, (2) lembar observasi aktivitas siswa, dan (3) Angket Respons siswa. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah analisis deskriptif dan analisis inferensial. Secara umum, hasil analisis data menunjukkan bahwa: (1) penerapan Model PBL Dengan Pendekatan Problem Posing efektif; (2) penerapan Model PBL Dengan Pendekatan open ended efektif. (3) tidak terdapat perbedaan keefektifan antara model PBL dengan pendekatan problem posing dan model PBL dengan pendekatan open ended. Secara spesifik, untuk model PBL dengan pendekatan Problem Posing hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) prestasi belajar peserta didik mencapai KKM, gain berada pada kategori sedang, dan tercapai ketuntasan secara klasikal, (2) aktivitas peserta didik berada dalam kategori baik, dan (3) respons peserta didik positif. Untuk model PBL dengan pendekatan Open Ended sama seperti yang dicapai pada PBL dengan pendekatan Problem Posing. Adapun perbandingan kedua pendekatan, secara deskriptif prestasi belajar, aktivitas, dan respons peserta didik untuk model PBL dengan Open Ended lebih tinggi dari pada model PBL dengan pendekatan Problem Posing. Sedangkan secara inferensial tidak terdapat perbedaan.

Abstract

This study aims to describe mathematical representation ability in terms of students' learning styles. The type of research used is qualitative research with a descriptive approach. The subjects in this study were VIII grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Bontonompo as many as 3 students, namely 1 student of visual learning style, 1 student of auditorial learning style and 1 student of kinesthetic learning style. The instruments used were questionnaires, mathematical representation ability test sheets, and interview guidelines. The mathematical representation problem used was 1 problem which contained image representation, symbol representation and verbal representation. The results showed that: (1) subjects with visual learning styles have mathematical representation skills by fulfilling two aspects, namely symbol representation and verbal representation. (2) subjects with auditorial learning style have mathematical representation ability by fulfilling all aspects, namely symbol representation, verbal representation and image representation. (3) subjects with kinesthetic learning style have mathematical representation ability by fulfilling two aspects namely symbol representation and verbal representation.

Abstract

This study aims to identify the main factors that influence the Human Development Index in South Sulawesi Province and group variables on the factors formed by the Principal Component Analysis method. The data used in this research is secondary data obtained from the official website of the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) of South Sulawesi Province with the unit of observation, namely 24 districts / cities in South Sulawesi Province in 2024. The data was analyzed using the Principal Component Analysis method by reducing the dimensions of large and correlated data into small and uncorrelated dimensions. The results showed that of the nine variables analyzed, two main components were identified that contributed to the formation of the Human Development Index in South Sulawesi Province in 2024, namely the first human quality of life factor with the largest eigenvalue of 3.948 (56.405%), and the second economic and employment factor with an eigenvalue of 1.243 (17.76%). The main factor is interpreted as the quality of human life factor, as it consists of variables most influenced by Expected Years of Schooling (0.875), followed by Average Years of Schooling (0.868), and Life Expectancy (0.772). Meanwhile, the supporting factors were identified as economic and labor factors, which include Labor Force Participation Rate (0.777), Gross Regional Domestic Product (0.735), Per Capita Expenditure (0.726), and Open Unemployment Rate (0.681).

Abstract

Drug abuse continues to be a significant public health issue, especially in developing countries such as Indonesia, with increasing prevalence among the productive age group. This study develops and analyzes a compartmental mathematical model, SAHTR (Susceptible, Addicted-Lighter, Addicted-Heavier, Treatment, Recovery), using a nonlinear system of differential equations to simulate the dynamics of drug abuse spread and recovery. The model integrates an optimal control approach to evaluate the effectiveness of two intervention strategies: anti-drug campaigns and psychological counseling. Numerical simulations were carried out using the Runge-Kutta 4th order method, focusing on the sensitivity analysis of two key parameters: the rate of social transmission (β) and rehabilitation success rate (γ₂). The results show that while the β parameter influences the initial decline of the susceptible population, its long-term impact is relatively minimal. In contrast, the γ₂ parameter significantly affects the dynamics of the recovery compartment, indicating that improving rehabilitation efficiency can substantially reduce system burden and accelerate the return of individuals to a drug-free state. These findings suggest that intervention strategies should prioritize enhancing the quality and accessibility of rehabilitation programs, including structured therapy and post-recovery support. Moreover, social influence control alone is insufficient without being complemented by preventive and community-based approaches. Overall, this study contributes to evidence-based policymaking by demonstrating the value of mathematical modeling in understanding and combating drug abuse effectively.

Abstract

Poverty is a complex and multidimensional issue, interconnected with various aspects, including social, economic, cultural, and other aspects. The number of poor people in Indonesia was 25.14 million in March 2019. In South Sulawesi Province in March 2019, there were approximately 767,800 poor people. As a preventive measure against increasing poverty rates, it is necessary to forecast the number of poor people so that the government can plan policies. The data used in this study is data from 2008-2019 sourced from the Central Statistics Agency of South Sulawesi Province. This study uses Non-Linear Trend Analysis, specifically the Quadratic Method, to forecast the number of poor people. This method is suitable for data spanning 10 or more periods. The Quadratic Method has an R-Square value of 86.48% and a MAPE of 2.69%. The results of the forecast for 6 years show that the number of poor people in South Sulawesi Province has increased.

Abstract

This study aims to asses the effectiveness of the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model supported by GeoGebra on students’ mathematics attainment in the topic of polyhedra (flat-sided solid figures) among seventh-grade students at SMPN 1 Mangarabombang. This study utilized quasi-experimental study used a nonequivalent control group design with a quantitative approach. The population consisted of all seventh-grade students from ten classes, and cluster random sampling was used to select the sample. As a result, the experimental group (PBL with GeoGebra) was VII Sultan Hasanuddin and class the control group (PBL without GeoGebra) was VII Andi Mappanyukki. Test and observation sheet are used to collect the data, and analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistical methods. The results revealed that the average post-test score in the experimental group reached 83.19, with 100% mastery (31 out of 31 students scoring ≥75), and a normalized gain score reached 0.77 (high category). In contrast, the average post-test score in the control group reached 78.29, with 93.55% mastery (29 out of 31 students scoring ≥75), and a gain score of 0.69 (moderate category). From the independent sample t-test revealed there is a statistically significant difference between the two groups. These findings suggest that incorporating GeoGebra into the PBL model leads to better mathematics learning outcomes compared to PBL without GeoGebra, as evidenced by higher post-test scores, greater mastery rates, and more substantial learning gains.
