Abstract

This study investigates the potential of Putri Malu (Mimosa pudica linn) extract, rich in saponins, as a natural preservative for oyster mushrooms (Pleurotus ostreatus) during storage. The objective is to determine the impact of the extract on the shelf life of the mushrooms and identify the optimal composition of the extract for maximum preservation. The experimental method is employed, utilizing a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with four treatment groups of the Putri Malu extract. The results indicate a significant effect of the Putri Malu extract on prolonging the shelf life of oyster mushrooms. Among the different concentrations tested, the treatment using 176 ml of water combined with 24 ml of 12% Putri Malu extract (P4) exhibited the best preservation results. This study highlights the potential of natural preservatives derived from plants, specifically saponin-rich sources like Putri Malu, in extending the shelf life of perishable food items such as oyster mushrooms. The findings contribute to the development of eco-friendly preservation methods and promote the utilization of natural compounds for food preservation purposes.

Abstract

This research examines code mixing in student discussions during the fourth semester of the Language Education Study Program at PGRI University, Palembang. Code mixing involves the use of a main code alongside other codes that lack function or autonomy. Descriptive methodology is employed, using fourth-semester students as participants. Data analysis employs the intralingual equivalent technique, while data collection involves observation and recording. Results indicate that the highest percentage of code mixing (6.1%) occurs in the first recording, with 64 instances out of 1056 words. The lowest code mixing percentage (3.2%) is found in the fifth recording, with 15 instances out of 463 words. Overall, code mixing percentages for subsequent meetings range from 4.2% to 5.9%. This study sheds light on code mixing patterns in student discussions, contributing to language education research.

Abstract

The rapid development of online commerce has led to changes in consumer actions and behavior, which has forced conventional traders to find ways to survive. This study aims to find out the extent to which social capital consisting of beliefs, networks and values or norms to see conventional merchants survive with the rise of online commerce or e-commerce. The theoretical approach used is social interaction theory and rational choice theory, The results of the study show that social capital has an important role in survival, especially social relationships, norms and beliefs. This shows that social interaction is needed as social capital and a rational choice to continue trading conventionally. Social capital becomes a significant source of social power, which provides access to opportunities, resources, information and support within society. E-commerce activities indirectly erode the existence of conventional merchants, thus requiring conventional merchants to follow technological developments to be more competent with e-commerce.

Abstract

Business capital financing is a financial product offered by banks to support the growth and expansion of customer businesses. Customers or financed parties are required to repay the funds or bills within a specified period, in exchange for profit sharing. This study focuses on the profit sharing system in business capital financing products at BPRS Bhakti Sumekar Pragaan branch office, particularly examining its compliance with Islamic business ethics. Using qualitative field research, the study employed interviews with the branch office's leadership and accounting officers as the primary data collection method. The findings revealed that while the branch office utilizes a profit and loss sharing system, it does not fully adhere to Shari'ah principles. The profit sharing amount remains constant each month, unrelated to actual business profits, as it relies on assumptions and profit projections. This approach stems from the bank's concerns regarding customers' honesty in reporting their business profits. To mitigate the risk of non-payment, the bank ensures fixed principal installments and consistent profit sharing amounts throughout the financing period

Abstract

Islamic banks operate based on Islamic principles, which involve collecting and distributing funds without charging interest but through profit-sharing agreements. This study adopts a qualitative approach to provide descriptive narratives on observed issues. Data collection involves primary and secondary sources, utilizing methods such as observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis involves systematic organization and interpretation of observations and interviews to enhance the researcher's understanding and present findings to others. BMT NU Pragaan Branch employs a service strategy to enhance customer interest in saving, such as the savings shuttle service. Opening a savings account requires minimal documentation, including photocopies of identification cards, family cards, a passport-sized photo, and a contact number. Profit sharing at BMT NU Pragaan Branch depends on the agreed timeframe and the amount saved, adhering to mutually agreed terms between the bank and members.

Abstract

This study examines the impact of using coconut pulp as a nutrient source in the growing media for white oyster mushrooms (Pleurotus Ostreatus). The objective is to determine the optimal treatment for mushroom growth. Experimental methods, including planting media preparation, seed planting, plot layout, media packaging, sterilization, inoculation, incubation, fruiting body growth, and maintenance until harvest, were employed. Five treatments (P0, P1, P2, P3, P4) with four replications were tested using the Kruskal-Wallis test. The results revealed that the lowest fungal growth occurred at a dose of 90 g (P1), while the highest growth was observed at a dose of 100 g (P3). The Kruskal-Wallis test confirmed significant differences among treatments (Fcount > Ftable, 174313.17 > 9.49, p < 0.05). The highest final pileus diameter was 20.5 cm, and the lowest was 4.5 cm. These findings suggest that the addition of coconut pulp has a noticeable effect on the growth of white oyster mushrooms.

Abstract

This study investigates the impact of fermented soybean meal and different soybean compositions on the growth of tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus), a freshwater fish. The experimental method consisted of five treatments and five replications. The ANOVA test revealed a significant effect of fermented soybean meal on tilapia growth (Fcount > Ftable, 109.6316 > 2.87, p < 0.01). The highest final body weight observed was 18.4 grams, while the lowest was 10.4 grams. Treatment P4, which involved 80% soybean meal, exhibited the highest fish growth. Conversely, the control treatment (P0) without soybean meal resulted in limited nila growth. These findings demonstrate that the provision of soybean meal has a substantial influence on the growth of tilapia.
