Abstract

The application of innovative learning media can improve students' cognitive learning outcomes on a subject matter. One interesting solution that can be applied is the application of a differentiation learning model (differentiated instruction). This study aims to analyze the application of a differentiation learning model (differentiated instruction) in improving the cognitive learning outcomes of class X students at SMA Negeri 8 Mataram in Biology subjects. This study uses Classroom Action Research (CAR) with data collection techniques in the form of cognitive learning outcome tests. In Cycle I, students' cognitive learning outcomes were 63 and the classical completeness value was 49%, thus in terms of classical completeness it was not yet complete. While the cognitive learning outcomes of students after applying the differentiation learning model in Cycle II were 92 or 87%, students managed to achieve the learning completeness criteria. The overall achievement of the class can exceed the completeness standard and further strengthen the positive impact of the learning approach using the differentiation learning model (differentiated instruction). Thus, it can be concluded that the application of the differentiation learning model (differentiated instruction) contributes significantly to improving the cognitive learning outcomes of class X students in Biology subjects at SMA Negeri 8 Mataram.

Abstract

Plankton are aquatic organisms that live floating with passive movement and cannot fight against the current. Plankton consists of phytoplankton and zooplankton. Given the very important role of plankton, research is needed. This study aims to analyze the condition of plankton (phytoplankton and zooplankton commodities) in the waters of Batu Kumbu Bay, Batu Kumbu Hamlet, West Sekotong Village, Sekotong District, West Lombok Regency. Water samples were taken using a plankton net and analyzed using a Sedgewick Rafter Cell (SRC) using a microscope. Data analysis in this study was in the form of the number of species, density (ind / L), dominance index, diversity index (H '), category, evenness and category. The results of this study showed the richness of phytoplankton species, it was found that the number of species found around coastal waters was relatively more, namely 37 species with a density of 159 individuals / liter. While around the jetty/pier there are 21 species with a species density of 91.3 while the richness of zooplankton species, it was found that the number of species found in the pier area, namely 2 species with a species density of 1 individual/liter and in the coastal area 3 species with a density of 2 individuals/liter. As for the level of species diversity (H') both phytoplankton and zooplankton in both locations, where the jetty tends to be low, while in coastal waters it is classified as moderate.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the condition of the implementation of learning which mostly still uses lecture-based or conventional learning models, where the learning process carried out is more centered on the educator himself, while students only receive the learning materials given, this affects the cognitive learning outcomes of students. Therefore, educators are required to use a variety of learning models in order to optimize the learning process. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the Project-Based Learning Model on the cognitive learning outcomes of students at SMAN 10 Samarinda. This research is a quantitative study with the Quasi Experiment method. The number of samples in this study was 48 respondents consisting of 24 respondents for class X1 and 24 respondents from class X2. The sampling technique in this study used the Purposive Sampling technique. This study uses primary data whose data collection is by distributing test sheets. The results of the study show that the significant value obtained is 0.000 which is far below the significance level (0.05) which indicates that H0 can be rejected, because there is strong evidence that the Project-Based Learning Model has a significant effect on students' cognitive learning outcomes.

Abstract

Spinach (Amaranthus spp.) is a plant that is commonly grown for its leaves as green vegetables. This plant originates from tropical America, but is now spread throughout the world. This study aims to determine the effect of rice washing water on the growth of the number of spinach leaves (Amaranthus spp.). The design used in this study was a Completely Randomized Design (CRD), consisting of 3 treatments with 9 replications, namely: P1 (750 ml of rice washing water + 750 ml of plain water); P2 75% (1125 ml of rice washing water + 375 ml of plain water); and P3 100% (1500 rice water). The variables observed were the number of spinach leaves (Amaranthus spp.). The results of this study indicate that in the P1 treatment, the number of spinach leaves (Amaranthus spp.) was obtained in succession, namely: 50 strands, 62 strands, 63 strands, 63 strands, 86 strands, 97 strands, 105 strands, and 113 strands. While in the P2 treatment, the number of spinach leaves (Amaranthus spp.) was obtained in succession, namely: 46 strands, 65 strands, 77 strands, 71 strands, 91 strands, 98 strands, 102 strands, and 118 strands. In the P3 treatment, the number of spinach leaves (Amaranthus spp.) from the 1st to the 8th week were consecutively: 48 strands, 62 strands, 66 strands, 71 strands, 90 strands, 104 strands, 119 strands, and 143 strands, with an average observation result on the number of spinach leaves (Amaranthus spp.) of 87 strands.

Abstract

Biology learning aims to develop students' thinking skills and problem-solving skills, so that students can understand biological concepts, solve problems, apply biological reasoning, and communicate solutions systematically. The purpose of this study was to improve students' learning motivation through the application of the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) learning model. This type of research uses Classroom Action Research (CAR) which is carried out in two cycles. The subjects of this study were 32 students of class XI of SMA Negeri 1 Kerambitan. The research instrument used was a motivation questionnaire. This Classroom Action Research (CAR) uses quantitative data analysis techniques. The results of the study in cycle II showed that students' learning motivation after being given action using STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) increased from low to good criteria. So it is concluded that the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) learning model has succeeded in improving the learning motivation of class XI students of SMA Negeri 1 Kerambitan.

Abstract

This study aims to detect the presence of Oxytetracycline antibiotic residues in broiler chicken livers sold at the Mandalika Traditional Market, Mataram City. This study used a bioassay screening test method to detect antibiotic residues in broiler chicken liver samples taken from 10 traders in the market. The results showed that no antibiotic residues were found in all samples tested. All samples showed negative results, which means that the broiler chicken livers sold in the market contain Oxytetracycline residues. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that broiler chickens sold at the Mandalika Traditional Market do not contain Oxytetracycline antibiotic residues that exceed the safe limit for consumption.

Abstract

This study aims to identify the types and distribution of rice varieties cultivated in dry land of Central Lombok as a basis for developing sustainable agriculture in the region. The research method used a randomized block design with several local and superior rice varieties as treatments. The study was conducted with a quantitative descriptive approach at 40 cultivation locations. The results showed that the inpari 32 variety was planted more on dry land in Central Lombok Regency with 19 planting locations, then the inpago 8 variety with 7 locations, the inpari 34 variety with 5 locations, the inpagi variety with 10, inpago 9, and the local bulu variety with 3 locations each. While the planting locations of the inpago 10, inpago 8, inpago 9, inpari 32, and inpari 34 varieties were generally planted in the lowlands. While the local bulu rice was generally planted in the highlands or hills. The results of the study prove that there is significant variation between varieties in their ability to adapt to dry land conditions, with several local varieties showing better resistance to drought stress, water utilization efficiency, and yield stability.
