Abstract

Abstract

Hypertension is a major factor in cardiovascular disease, causing high morbidity and mortality. Several pharmacological therapies are available, but many patients do not achieve optimal blood pressure control. Isometric handgrip exercise is one of the non-pharmacological intervention that is inexpensive, practical and efficient. The research method use a literature search conducted in the PubMed, Cochrane, and Web of Science databases until May 2025. Article included were randomized controlled clinical trials (RCTs), cross-sectional trials, and quasi-experimental studies that examined the effect of isometric handgrip on blood pressure in patients with pre-hypertension or hypertension. The primary outcomes were systolic blood pressure, diastolic blood pressure and mean arterial pressure (MAP). The research result showed that isometric handgrip exercise can reduce systolic blood pressure by an average of 7.3 to 7.5 mmHg and diastolic blood pressure by 3.2 to 3.9 mmHg, and MAP by 5.9 to 7.2 mmHg, with tan effect equivalent to that of antihypertensive drugs. Exercise with an intensity of 30 o 60 MVP or 85 to 95% HRpeak performed to 3 to 5 times per week has been shown to be most effective. Isometric handgrip also reduce hypertension symptoms such as dizzies and fatigue, and no serious side effect were found. It can be concluded that isometric handgrip exercise can be used as a safe and effective complementary therapy for hypertension management and is worth considering as part of a lifestyle change for hypertension patients.

Abstract

Hypertension, a chronic condition often experienced by the elderly and can cause serious complications if not managed properly. Physical exercise is an important non-pharmacological strategy to control blood pressure, however, the level of elderly compliance with exercise is still low. This study analyzed the relationship between perceived vulnerability and perceived barriers with physical exercise compliance in 108 elderly with hypertension in the Tugu Community Health Center (Puskesmas) work area, Depok. Data were collected using a questionnaire based on the Health Belief Model (HBM), and analyzed using the chi-square test and multiple logistic regression. The results showed that 55.6% of elderly had low compliance with physical exercise. Bivariate analysis showed a significant relationship between compliance with perceived vulnerability (p=0.018; OR=2.77) and perceived barriers (p=0.004; OR=2.39). Multiple logistic regression confirmed that elderly with high perceived vulnerability were 3.12 times more adherent, while those with fewer perceived barriers were 3.05 times more adherent. The dominant factor was social support (OR=3.60). Perceived vulnerability and perceived barriers play an important role in physical exercise compliance in elderly with hypertension. Improving health education to raise risk awareness and reducing barriers through targeted interventions, family involvement, and community support are important strategies. These findings underscore the need to integrate psychosocial factors into geriatric community nursing to improve hypertension management in older adults.

Abstract

This study examines the effect of Firm Size on Debt Policy with Asset Structure as a mediator in insurance companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange during 2016–2021. From a population of 17 firms, we obtained 14 firms with complete data (84 firm-year observations). After removing 8 statistical outliers, 76 observations remain ed for analysis. We employ path analysis at a 5% significance level. Results indicate that: (1) firm size negatively affects asset structure; (2) firm size negatively affects debt policy; (3) asset structure positively affects debt policy; and (4) asset structure mediates the effect of firm size on debt policy. These findings inform managers in balancing financing decisions with asset characteristics and regulatory capital requirements in the insurance industry.

Abstract

Generation Z, as digital natives, plays a crucial role in the digital economy, not only as students and young employees but also as micro and small entrepreneurs. In this context, the issue of earnings management is no longer confined to large corporations but has become relevant at the individual and micro-business level. This study analyzes the influence of human resource (HR) competence, digital literacy, and financial self-efficacy on the tendency to engage in earnings management among Generation Z in Banyumas Regency. A quantitative explanatory method was employed using primary data collected from 120 respondents aged 18–27 years through questionnaires. Multiple linear regression analysis with SPSS revealed that HR competence, digital literacy, and financial self-efficacy significantly affect the tendency toward earnings management, both partially and simultaneously, with a coefficient of determination (R²) of 0.482. The findings highlight HR competence as the most dominant factor, while digital literacy and financial self-efficacy also contribute, albeit with smaller effects. This study concludes that earnings management among Generation Z is shaped not only by personal factors but also by external influences such as social norms, organizational culture, and regulatory oversight. The study contributes to behavioral accounting and finance literature and offers practical implications for policymakers, universities, and financial institutions to foster competence, digital literacy, and financial ethics among young generations

Abstract

Chronic bronchitis is a leading cause of global morbidity and mortality, with its prevalence increasing due to exposure to cigarette smoke, air pollution, and environmental factors. This condition is characterized by bronchial inflammation and excessive mucus buildup, resulting in ineffective airway clearance. If not optimally managed, this condition can weaken hypoxic tissue, trigger cardiopulmonary complications, and reduce the patient's quality of life. The role of nurses is crucial in providing interventions based on evidence-based practices to prevent disease progression. This study uses a case study approach through the stages of assessment, diagnosis, intervention, implementation, and evaluation in chronic bronchitis patients at RSUD X. The patient's appearance results in shortness of breath, ineffective cough, excessive sputum production, and activity intolerance. The diagnosis of bleeding that was confirmed was ineffective airway clearance and nutritional deficit. Interventions included airway management (semi-Fowler's position, effective coughing techniques, warm hydration, and collaboration of bronchodilators and expectorants) and nutritional management. The evaluation showed improved breathing patterns, decreased dyspnea, decreased phlegm, and improved nutritional status. In conclusion, maintenance with airway management and nutritional interventions has been shown to be effective in improving airway clearance in patients with chronic bronchitis, and plays an important role in preventing complications and meeting oxygen needs.

Abstract

Background: Stroke is a leading cause of long-term disability worldwide, resulting in motor, cognitive, and emotional impairments. Rehabilitation is a crucial aspect of post-stroke recovery, improving function and quality of life. In recent years, virtual reality (VR) has emerged as a complementary innovation to conventional therapy. This technology offers an interactive environment specific to rehabilitation tasks, stimulating neuroplasticity and increasing patient motivation during therapy. Numerous studies have shown that VR can provide engaging and adaptive therapeutic experiences tailored to individual needs, both for the recovery of motor function, balance, and psychosocial aspects. Commonly used VR platforms include Wii Fit, Xbox Kinect, immersive VR headsets, and systems integrated with exoskeletons. Various studies have shown that VR-based interventions improve motor function (Fugl-Meyer, ARAT), balance (BBS, TUG), and psychological well-being (decreased depression and increased motivation). However, the effectiveness of VR is still affected by heterogeneity in study designs, small sample sizes, and variations in outcome measures. Despite this, most patients report high levels of satisfaction and comfort during therapy. Therefore, further trials using standardized methods are needed to ensure the effectiveness and feasibility of implementing VR in interdisciplinary stroke nursing and rehabilitation practice.

Abstract

Introduction: Cancer patients often experience complex, ongoing physical and psychosocial needs that extend beyond clinical treatment settings. Telenursing has emerged as a promising intervention to deliver continuous, patient-centered care through digital platforms. Objectives: This systematic review aims to evaluate the effectiveness of telenursing interventions in improving supportive care, symptom management, functional outcomes, satisfaction, and cost-efficiency in cancer care. Methods: This review followed PRISMA guidelines and included studies published between 2015 and 2025 from databases such as PubMed, Scopus, ProQuest, ScienceDirect, Wiley, and Jane Journal. Keywords included “telenursing,” “tele-nursing,” and “cancer,” using MeSH terms. A total of 38 studies were included after screening and quality appraisal using the Jadad scale for randomized controlled trials. Results: Telenursing interventions demonstrated significant benefits in reducing supportive care needs, especially in psychological, physical, and informational domains. Several studies reported improved symptom control, including pain, fatigue, and chemotherapy-induced side effects, as well as enhanced functional recovery in post-surgical patients. High levels of patient satisfaction and reduced healthcare utilization were noted, particularly in studies that incorporated structured, nurse-led follow-up and digital tools. Despite these promising outcomes, heterogeneity in study design and limited methodological rigor in some trials constrain the generalizability of results. Conclusion: Telenursing offers a feasible, cost-effective, and patient-centered approach to enhance cancer care across diverse populations and settings. Future research should prioritize high-quality trials, equity in digital access, and long-term outcomes to support sustainable integration into oncology nursing practice.
