Abstract

This study aims to analyze the exergy efficiency and irreversibility of the Kamojang Unit 2 Geothermal Power Plant (GPP) in Indonesia using an exergy analysis method. The results reveal that the turbine exhibits the highest exergy loss of 11,512 kW with an exergy efficiency of 82.78%. The condenser records the second-largest exergy loss of 9,875 kW, while the inter condenser and after condenser show the lowest exergy efficiencies at 22.6% and 38.55%, respectively. The overall system exergy efficiency is 65.3%, producing 63,261 kW of electricity from an input exergy of 96,764 kW. Optimization was conducted by varying the turbine inlet pressure from 4.5 to 6.5 bar, with the optimal pressure determined to be 4.5 bar, resulting in the highest exergy efficiency and the lowest irreversibility. This research provides valuable insights for enhancing geothermal power plant efficiency through thermodynamic parameter optimization.

Abstract

This study investigates the impact of Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) disclosure on working capital efficiency, profitability, and firm value of non-financial public companies in Indonesia during the period 2017-2022. Additionally, it examines the moderating role of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) disclosure on the relationship between ERM disclosure and these three variables. The research adopts a quantitative approach, utilizing secondary data from companies' annual reports. Working Capital Turnover (WCT) measures efficiency, profitability is assessed by Return on Assets (ROA), and firm value is evaluated using Tobin’s Q ratio. ERM and ESG disclosures are assessed based on the COSO ERM 2017 framework and GRI Standards, respectively. The findings reveal that ERM disclosure has a significant positive impact on firm value but shows no significant effect on working capital efficiency and profitability. Furthermore, ESG disclosure positively moderates the relationship between ERM disclosure and firm value, highlighting the synergistic benefits of integrating robust ERM practices with comprehensive ESG disclosures. This study underscores the necessity for companies to enhance the quality of their risk management and ESG-related disclosures to improve financial performance and corporate value. By providing empirical evidence on the benefits of ERM and ESG disclosures, this research contributes to the literature and offers practical implications for non-financial public companies in Indonesia.

Abstract

Everything related to Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology has a crucial role to play in helping to improve efficiency, lowering expenses, and optimizing decision-making across numerous industries, including accounting, where Generation Z accountants, particularly in Batam, must continuously develop their skills and readiness to leverage AI despite challenges related to data privacy and security. This research seeks to evaluate the readiness of a Generation Z accountant to embrace artificial intelligence (AI) technology by applying the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM). In the context of the fourth industrial revolution, AI adoption is crucial for improving efficiency and effectiveness in accounting practices. The study employs a quantitative approach with purposive sampling, involving 220 Generation Z accountant participants from Batam City. The analysis, conducted using the PLS-PM method in R programming and data processing with Google Colab statistics, reveals that the Technology Readiness (TR) variable significantly influences the interest of Generation Z accountants in adopting AI technology. While the perceived ease of use (PEOU) variable showed no significant effect, perceived usefulness (PU) emerged as the dominant factor in technology adoption. The R-Squared value of 0.920 indicates that 92% of the variables influencing AI technology adoption are explained by TR and PU. This study highlights the importance of technology readiness in helping Generation Z accountants adapt to technological advancements and offers recommendations for enhancing education, training, and technology development within the accounting profession.

Abstract

In 2020, the Ministry of Health reported that there were 30,199 registered pharmacies (Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia, 2022). This number fluctuated from 2018 to 2020, indicating competition in the pharmacy business. To face this competition, pharmacies need to implement strategies that can influence customers' purchasing decisions. This study aims to determine the influence of marketing mix and store layout on purchase decisions. The method used is quantitative with data collection through a Likert scale questionnaire. The number of samples was 100 respondents, calculated using the Yamane and Isaac-Michael formulas, and tested for validity and reliability using SPSS. The results of the multiple regression test show that the marketing mix and store layout together influence the purchase decision. This proved that both significantly influenced the purchase decision, so Ho was rejected and H1 was accepted. In addition, the test results also show that partially, these two factors have a significant influence on purchase decisions. The marketing mix strategy and store layout implemented by Kimia Farma's Central Jakarta branch is considered effective because it is able to influence purchasing decisions, as evidenced by the value of the R2 determination coefficient of 85.2%.

Abstract

Baitul Mal Wat Tamwil (BMT) plays an important role in serving the financial needs of people who have not been reached by conventional banks, especially the lower economic strata. Along with the growth of BMT in Indonesia since 1984, the main challenge faced is the financing risk that can threaten the sustainability of operations. Previous research on financing risk management in BMT has been widely conducted. However, there has been no literature review on the topic. Therefore, this article aims to conduct a literature review of the results of financing risk management research on BMT. The review was performed on the research results published in national scientific journals indexed in Google Scholar as many as ten articles. The results of the review show that trained human resources play an essential role in risk management in BMT; BMT does not yet own complete regulation and standardized risk control system; submission of financing applications at BMT is carried out by the procedure; Problematic financing is handled gradually starting from a familial approach, the application of rescheduling and restructuring, then the last step is legal settlement. The implication of this study is that increasing human resource capacity and strengthening regulations can improve the sustainability and competitiveness of BMT as a sharia microfinance institution in Indonesia

Abstract

As automated border control systems become increasingly prevalent worldwide, their implementation in Indonesia presents challenges and opportunities at the intersection of technology and society. This literature review examines the social and technological dimensions of interactions with automated border control systems in Indonesia, focusing on the evolving dynamics between citizens, technology, and government. The review highlights how automated systems, while enhancing efficiency, also transform traditional notions of border crossing inspections. This study explores four key aspects, human-technology interaction with their positive and negative impact, biometrics technology on immigration checkpoints, social interaction impact on automated border control system, and the shift in government-society relationships in the context of technology-based services. By synthesizing existing literature and case studies, this review aims to provide insights into the socio-technical landscape of border control automation in Indonesia. Currently, there are not many studies that focus on discussing the impact of the loss of social interaction in the implementation of information technology in public services, especially in automated border control. It is essential to carefully consider the disadvantages and explore ways to address them before fully embracing the automated immigration clearance system. These findings might have significant implications for policymakers, technology developers, and social scientists, offering an understanding of how automated systems reshape social interactions and institutional relationships in the critical domain of border security and management.
