Abstract

Rice is a staple food in Indonesia, with a high consumption rate of 81.044 kg per capita annually and a production volume of 31.54 million tons in 2022. Ensuring traceability in the rice supply chain is crucial for food quality and safety. However, the industry faces logistical challenges, such as inadequate infrastructure, poor interagency coordination, and unintegrated information systems. At Menata Citra Selaras (MCS), the largest rice milling unit in Bekasi Regency, manual systems hinder decision-making and product traceability. This study aims to optimize traceability by leveraging blockchain technology. We developed Ricetrack, a prototype application based on Sawtooth blockchain technology, to enhance supply chain traceability. The methodology includes identifying actors and user stories, system modeling, design, and prototype testing in an operational environment. Data analysis, both quantitative and qualitative, showed significant improvements in traceability and data transparency, validated through surveys and stakeholder feedback. The study concludes that blockchain technology offers substantial benefits for the rice supply chain, providing added value to all stakeholders and enhancing operational efficiency for MCS and other companies in the Indonesian rice industry.

Abstract

Work-related eye trauma cases at Bekasi Regency Hospital were analyzed in a retrospective descriptive study using secondary data from medical records over five years (2020–2024). A total of 66 subjects were studied, with the majority being male (78.8%, n = 52) and an average age of 28.1 ± 6.5 years (range: 15–54). The largest age group was 15–34 years (47%, n = 31). Most patients were self-employed in machinery, metalwork, trade, and agriculture (45.5%, n = 30). The most common eye trauma was injury to the eyelid and adnexa (18.8%, n = 19), followed by open laceration or penetrating trauma of the eyeball (27.3%, n = 18). The primary mechanism of injury was impact by blunt or sharp objects (53%, n = 35), followed by puncture wounds from sharp objects during activities like nailing (10.6%, n = 7) and exposure to cleaning or maintenance equipment (10.6%, n = 7). Other causes included cutting activities (6.1%, n = 4), welding (6.1%, n = 4), and exposure to chemicals (4.5%, n = 3). Visual impairment was reported in most cases (66.7%, n = 44), and the same percentage required surgical intervention. Urgent measures are needed to improve awareness of workplace eye safety and implement effective prevention strategies. Occupational safety programs should include specific training on eye protection and educational campaigns to enhance workers’ understanding of risks and preventive measures for work-related eye trauma.

Abstract

Purpose – This study aims to explore the impact of social media influencers (SMIs) intimate self-influencer congruence on consumers’ electronic word of mouth (e-WOM), with a focus on the role of parasocial relationships and congruence among the influencer, product and consumer. The study finds its theoretical foundation in parasocial theory and self- congruency theory. Design/methodology/approach – This study employs a quantitative approach, utilizing a sample of 170 collected survey responses. The proposed hypotheses are evaluated using partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM). Findings – This study reveals the sequential mediating effect of parasocial relationships and credibility on the link between self-influencer congruence and electronic word of mouth (e-WOM) on TikTok. Credibility plays a significant role in converting parasocial connections into consumer purchase intent. These findings highlight the importance of selecting credible influencers who align with brand values and audience interests to utilize social media marketing. Originality/value – This study brings new perspectives by identifying a limiting factor that shapes the impact of self-influencer congruence on electronic word of mouth (e-WOM) via sequential mediating effect of parasocial relationships and credibility. In doing so, this study provides a novel perspective in understanding the dynamics between SMIs and consumers in the rapidly evolving marketing landscape

Abstract

The ornamental plant industry, especially orchids, has experienced significant growth along with the increasing public interest in natural decorations. This study aims to ana-lyze the development strategy of orchid cultivation and rental businesses as a sustaina-ble business model. The research method used is a qualitative approach with a case study on Griya Kembang Punakawan, a business that integrates orchid cultivation, rent-al, and care clinics in Greater Bandung. The results of the study indicate that the imple-mentation of an integrated business model provides a competitive advantage by in-creasing the added value of products and services. Orchid rental services for events such as weddings and exhibitions are an economical alternative compared to purchasing ornamental plants directly. In addition, orchid clinic services contribute to maintaining plant quality by offering care consultations. From a financial aspect, business projections show a positive return on investment, with an estimated ROI of 70.64% per year and an NPV reaching IDR 435,151,581. In conclusion, the orchid cultivation and rental business development strategy has promising prospects in supporting business sustainability, especially with the optimization of digital marketing and efficient supply chain management.

Abstract

Sustainable rural development is essential for enhancing rural communities' economic, social, and environmental well-being. However, challenges such as inadequate infrastructure, limited access to essential services, and environmental degradation hinder progress in this domain. Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) offer innovative solutions to overcome these obstacles by facilitating better planning, improved decision-making, and enhanced connectivity. This study explores the role of ICT in sustainable rural development, emphasizing its application in agriculture, healthcare, education, and governance. Through Geographic Information Systems (GIS), remote sensing, mobile technologies, and e-governance platforms, ICT fosters efficient resource management, boosts economic resilience, and strengthens community participation. Despite the potential benefits, digital literacy gaps, infrastructure deficiencies, and financial constraints remain key barriers to implementation. The study highlights the importance of strategic investments, stakeholder collaboration, and policy interventions to maximize ICT’s impact on rural development. By integrating ICT into planning frameworks, rural communities can achieve long-term sustainability, economic growth, and improved quality of life

Abstract

This research aims to provide empirical evidence of investor reactions to the disclosure of Management's Discussion and Analysis (MD&A) and Trading Volume Activity (TVA) for companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange from 2015 to 2021. The motivation for this study is the lack of research in Indonesia examining the impact of MD&A on investor decisions, as illustrated by market reactions to stock returns and trading volume activity (TVA). The data used in this research is secondary data obtained from the Annual Reports of companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX), Refinitiv ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) data, and the list of Historical Prices from Yahoo Finance for the period 2015-2021. This study includes 259 data points from 37 companies over the period 2015-2021. Hypothesis testing is conducted using multiple linear regression and non-parametric partial correlation tests. The results indicate that (1) there is no significant positive relationship between MD&A disclosures and stock returns, but (2) there is a significant positive effect of MD&A disclosures on trading volume activity (TVA). This study also incorporates a paired sample t-test to identify differences in stock prices and TVA before and after the disclosure. Implementing these strategies can enhance the productivity and performance of healthcare institutions.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze gender based on footprints from various ethnicities in the World. The method used is a literature study with data sources from various studies by identifying PICO (Population/Patient, Intervention, Comparison, Outcome). For Population: ethnicity in the world, Intervention: -, Comparison or comparison: footprint measurement, and Outcome or result: gender determination. Data collection was done by downloading literature from three search engines, namely Google Scholar, Sciencedirect, and PubMed. The results of this study show that anthropometric foot measurements can be effectively used to determine sex, with various studies showing significant sexual dimorphism in foot size between men and women. On average, men have greater foot length and width than women, which can be utilized for sex estimation with a high degree of accuracy. The diverse measurement methodologies, such as length, width and foot index measurements, reflect flexibility in adaptation based on different population contexts. This study also shows the importance of considering cultural and ethnic factors in anthropometric analysis, which can affect measurement results. The findings have practical applications in a variety of fields, including forensics and product design, and confirm that footprint dimensions can be a strong indicator of gender differentiation.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze the effect of sustainability reports on financial resilience in food and beverage companies in capital market of ASEAN countries and analyze the role of Enterprise Risk Management in modifying effect of the relationship. The index used as a sustainability report guideline in this study is based on Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) 2021. Meanwhile, the index used to measure Enterprise Risk Management is using COSO - ERM. The population of this study are food and beverage industry companies listed on the stock exchange of each ASEAN country in 2022-2023. Companies that become samples are selected using purposive sampling method with certain criteria. The type of data used is secondary data. The results showed that sustainability reports had no effect on Economic Value Added, and Enterprise Risk Management had no role in moderating effect of sustainability reports on Economic Value Added. Although ERM is designed to reduce risk and increase stability, this study suggests that ERM may not be sufficiently integrated with sustainability initiatives to influence financial resilience as measured by EVA. Sustainability initiatives reported in the SR are more oriented towards long-term impacts related to environmental, social, and governance (ESG). Due to this difference in focus, ERM is often not directly involved in managing or measuring the effectiveness of sustainability initiatives, leading to a lack of synergy between two approaches. The implications of this study can help companies to pay more attention to sustainability practices and strengthen risk management to improve financial resilience.
