Abstract

Credit is the main business of rural banks. Credit distribution cannot be separated from the risk of default by the debtor which has an impact on reducing credit quality. Worsening credit quality has the potential to reduce bank income because the bank's main income comes from loan interest income. Apart from that, worsening credit quality also has an impact on increasing the burden of provisions for losses on productive assets. One effort that can be made to minimize credit risk is to predict credit quality so that you can identify early the potential for a decline in credit quality. This research aims to obtain significant features that influence credit quality at Rural Banks and to predict credit quality classification at rural banks. The method used in this research is Ordinal Logistic Regression which will then be evaluated using ROC (Receiver Operating Characteristic) and AUC (Area Under Curve). The research results show that the best model for predicting credit quality uses all X variables, both credit information and debtor information, with an AUC value of 0.90 and a prediction accuracy of 93.44%.

Abstract

The complexity and challenges of military conscription for Generation Z in Indonesia are crucial topics in national defense discussions. This article analyzes the implementation of Law Number 23 of 2019 on National Resource Management for State Defense in enhancing Generation Z’s national defense awareness. According to Litbang Kompas data, 57.6% of Generation Z are uninterested in joining the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI). Factors such as generational differences, psychosocial challenges, and misalignment with career aspirations pose significant obstacles to implementing military conscription. Additionally, the multi-actor dynamics and complexities of defense policy coordination further complicate human resource management in the national defense system. This article recommends a more flexible approach to conscription, including a voluntary system, incentives for participants, and the integration of technology in training programs. Thus, the national defense program can be more adaptive and inclusive for Generation Z. This study highlights the importance of balancing national defense obligations with individual rights and strengthening technology-based defense strategies to address modern threats.

Abstract

Capital availability is necessary to support economic growth in order to reach its potential. Sources of capital supply might come from various sources owned by the state or foreigners. One of the foreign capital supplies comes from foreign direct investment (FDI). Recently, FDI is known to be one of the factors driving the national income of various countries in the world, including ASEAN countries. This study examines the influence of FDI, inflation, and the labor force participation rate (TPAK) on GDP in ASEAN countries. This study used secondary data in the form of panel data from eleven ASEAN countries for the period 2010 to 2020. The analytical method involved using the static panel analysis with the best model in the form of a fixed effect model (FEM) equipped with descriptive statistical analysis for each variable in this study. The results confirmed that FDI has a positive and significant effect on GDP. Meanwhile, inflation and TPAK has a negative and significant impact on nominal GDP in ASEAN countries over the time span of observation. For this reason, the governments of each country need to formulate strategies and policies to encourage investment improvement and economic stability. This is important to support each country's economy to achieve its best potential.
