Abstract

PT Tripatra Engineering and Construction (TEC) has transitioned its project monitoring system from manual methods to a cloud-storage-based system. However, the current system remains inadequate, often failing to provide accurate real-time data, leading to delays in decision-making. Challenges include data inconsistencies, complex interfaces, slow performance, adaptation difficulties, and integration issues. User feedback highlights work delays (23%) and cost overruns in procurement (1.2 times the budget), potentially causing company losses. This research analyzes user needs and proposes improvements using Quality Function Deployment (QFD) and Lean Six Sigma (LSS). The study develops a prototype EPC project monitoring system focusing on three key enhancements: Real-Time Mailing Distribution, Document Tracking, and User Monitoring Application. These improvements enhance information distribution, document tracking, and monitoring capabilities. The findings indicate that the improved system enhances interdisciplinary collaboration, decision-making quality, and workflow design, emphasizing value-added activities. Additionally, it facilitates real-time data processing to support strategic decisions and foster an adaptive work ecosystem. This prototype serves as a foundation for continuous improvement, operational support, and enhanced project execution effectiveness.

Abstract

This study addresses the challenge of optimizing the utilization of Dutch colonial heritage buildings in Indonesia, focusing on the Philately Building owned by PT Pos Indonesia (Persero). The research problem revolves around identifying an ideal business model for asset utilization through operational cooperation (KSO) while assessing investment feasibility and risk mitigation. The objectives are to analyze the optimal business model and evaluate the financial and operational viability of repurposing the building for cultural, culinary, or integrated tourism. A mixed-methods approach was employed, combining qualitative data from interviews, documentation, and observations with quantitative financial analysis (NPV, IRR, Payback Period). The Highest and Best Use (HBU) framework was applied to evaluate legal, physical, and financial aspects, alongside risk analysis using root cause assessment. Findings reveal that an integrated tourism model, combining cultural preservation, entertainment, and recreation, is the most financially viable option, with an IRR of 16.7% and a payback period of 8.14 years. The KSO model emerged as optimal, enabling risk-sharing, professional management, and diversified revenue streams while preserving historical value. Key risks include regulatory compliance and operational challenges, mitigated through detailed planning and partnerships. The research implications highlight the importance of HBU analysis in decision-making for heritage asset utilization, offering a replicable framework for similar projects. Practically, it provides PT Pos Indonesia and other stakeholders with actionable insights to balance preservation and profitability, fostering sustainable development of cultural heritage assets.

Abstract

Dysphagia, or difficulty swallowing and chewing, often occurs as a result of medical conditions such as strokes that damage the cranial nerves. This condition has the potential to cause malnutrition, aspiration, and decreased quality of life, especially in the elderly. Dietary modification is important, but special products for dysphagia patients with complete nutritional content are still limited. To overcome this, DisfaVit comes as a liquid food in the form of a soluble powder that is soft, filling, high in calories, and low in sugar. Made from organic ingredients, DisfaVit uses moringa leaves, banana peels, and white snapper scales—nutrient-rich leftovers from the food industry—with the addition of soy milk powder, soy protein isolate, and guar gum. This study aims to analyze the secondary metabolite content of moringa leaves and banana peels, evaluate the characteristics, quality, and safety of DisfaVit, and identify the most in-demand formulas. Research methods include literature, experimental, and laboratory studies, with phytochemical, characteristic, safety, and organoleptic testing. The results show that DisfaVit has a high bioactive and nutrient content, is safe to consume, and the P3 formula is the most in demand. DisfaVit has the potential to be a neurorehabilitation solution and improve the quality of life of elderly post-stroke patients with dysphagia

Abstract

This deep learning-based classification model was developed to recognize different types of pest infections in strawberry plants. The model aims to quickly identify pest symptoms, thus enabling efficient pest management in smart farming. This research uses an actual dataset containing images of strawberry leaves collected from smart farm trials. To expand the dataset, open data from platforms such as Kaggle were used, while images of infected leaves were obtained through web crawling with the help of Python libraries. The added data were converted to a uniform size, and PseudoLabeling was used to ensure stable learning on both training and testing datasets. The RegNet and EfficientNet models are selected as the main CNN-based models for iterative learning, with ensemble learning techniques to improve prediction accuracy. The proposed model aims to assist the early identification and treatment of pests on strawberry leaves during the early planting period, a crucial phase in the development of smart agriculture. It is hoped that this model can increase production in the agricultural industry and strengthen its competitiveness. Detecting early symptoms of plant diseases and pests is essential to prevent their development and minimize the damage caused. Although many methods have been developed using deep learning techniques, detecting early symptoms is still challenging due to the lack of datasets capable of training models against subtle changes in plants. Therefore, researchers built an automated data collection system to gather a large dataset of plant images and train ensemble models to detect diseases and pests of the target plants.

Abstract

The energy sector plays a crucial role in the global economy but is vulnerable to economic crises, pandemics, and geopolitical conflicts that trigger stock price volatility. This study investigates herding behavior among investors during two major crises, namely the COVID-19 pandemic and the Russia-Ukraine invasion, focusing on energy sector stocks listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) from 2018 to 2022. The study aims to identify indications of herding behavior in energy sector stock returns during these crisis periods. A quantitative approach was employed, analyzing daily time series data. The sample consisted of 57 stocks selected using the purposive sampling method based on relevant criteria. Hypothesis testing was conducted to identify differences in herding behavior across the two crisis periods and to evaluate the impact of West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude oil price fluctuations on herding behavior in the energy sector. The findings reveal indications of herding behavior in energy sector companies during the 2018–2022 period. However, there is no strong evidence to support the occurrence of herding behavior during the COVID-19 pandemic and the Russia-Ukraine invasion. Furthermore, WTI crude oil price fluctuations were not found to significantly influence herding behavior in the energy sector. These findings are expected to serve as a reference for regulators and academics in designing more effective policies to manage market behavior during periods of global uncertainty and to encourage further research exploring other factors influencing herding behavior across various sectors.
