Abstract

The process industry plays a vital role in the global economy, with increasing complexities requiring significant capital investment for projects. Accurate cost estimation in the early stages is critical to avoid cost overruns, delays, and poor quality. During the feasibility study phase, accurate cost estimation is crucial for project success. This study employs the cost significant model (CSM) to identify key cost elements influencing the total construction cost and compares the model's accuracy with actual costs in 50 process industry projects in Indonesia from 2010 to 2024. Artificial Neural Networks (ANN) with backpropagation are also used to validate the model and calculate the Mean Absolute Percentage Error (MAPE) for accuracy assessment. Analysis identifies significant cost components such as Mechanical ISBL (55.89%), Mechanical OSBL (7.65%), Electrical (6.06%), and Superstructure (15.07%), collectively contributing 84.66% of total costs. ANN-ALL achieves the highest accuracy (L: -4.76%, H: 0.55%), followed by CSM Model 3, ANN-CSM, and others, as per AACE International guidelines. Models exceeding Class 4 benchmarks are unsuitable for feasibility studies. Data analysis combines regression using SPSS and ANN modeling with MATLAB, highlighting the ANN-ALL model's superiority in cost estimation accuracy.

Abstract

The value of a company reflects its achievements and public trust over time, represented by the price agreed upon in buy-sell transactions. An increase in stock prices enhances company value and investor profits. Indonesia's manufacturing industry, covering diverse sectors like chemicals and consumer goods, has shown consistent growth, particularly in the pulp and paper sub-sector. Both Indonesia and Brazil have unique advantages for efficient pulp production, with the pulp and paper export sector reaching $7.5 billion in 2021. A company's value mirrors investor sentiment about its performance and future prospects, while rising stock prices indicate increasing company value, influenced by various market factors. This study uses research methode such a descriptive statistics, panel data regression, classical assumption tests, F-tests, R² for model explanation, and t-tests to assess the significance of independent variables. The finding of this paper is profitability positively influences company value, while leverage negatively impacts it; additionally, asset growth significantly enhances dividend policy.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the existence of a piece rate payment scheme that has an impact on the non-receipt of pocket money rights for remote internship participants, which should be obtained based on Indonesian Labor Law. This legal research is conducted with a doctrinal type research method that presents a systematic explanation of regulations, synchronization between laws and regulations and policy analysis in a prescriptive analytical manner to provide coherence truth. The results show that the Piece Rate Payment scheme has the potential to deprive remote internship participants of their rights in terms of pocket money. This is because the payment of pocket money will not be fulfilled by the company if the intern does not meet a certain target based on the internship contract. In addition, because Law No. 13 of 2003 concerning Manpower and Regulation of the Minister of Manpower and Transmigration No. PER.08/MEN/V/2008 concerning Procedures for Licensing and Implementation of Overseas Apprenticeship, do not regulate the allowance payment scheme. So, the economic protection efforts that can be done are by providing provisions in the relevant regulations regarding the company's obligation to provide a non-target-based allowance scheme, as well as supervision of overseas apprenticeship providers.

Abstract

This study examines the revenue decline experienced by RM Payakumbuah Depok, a well-known Padang restaurant, within Indonesia’s competitive and evolving economic landscape. The research identifies key challenges, including rising operational costs, increasing competition, and shifting consumer preferences. As part of a reputable restaurant chain, RM Payakumbuah Depok operates in a rapidly urbanizing area with intense competition from traditional and modern dining establishments. Despite its strong reputation for authentic Padang cuisine, the restaurant struggles to maintain its revenue due to a lack of adaptation to changing market conditions. This study explores three main aspects: the restaurant’s current condition, its competitive position, and strategies to attract and retain customers. Using a quantitative approach, including surveys and secondary data analysis, it applies SWOT analysis, Porter’s Five Forces, and the 7Ps of marketing to assess challenges and opportunities. The findings highlight the need for differentiation through unique value offerings, stronger customer engagement, and improved digital marketing. Recommended strategies include menu innovation, pricing adjustments, and service enhancements, with a structured implementation plan. These solutions aim to strengthen RM Payakumbuah Depok’s market position, increase customer satisfaction, and support long-term growth in a highly competitive industry. The findings are applicable to similar businesses facing market shifts.

Abstract

This paper analyses the current Performance Management and Rewards system in a non-profit organization in Indonesia that is undergoing significant change and aims to achieve its ambitious goals in the next 5 years. This research utilizes primary data in the form of interviews with staff in various positions in the organization, and secondary data in the form of organizational documents, employing qualitative methodology with thematic analysis. To evaluate the effectiveness of the current system, established frameworks from previous researches were used, with slight modifications to align with the organizational environment as a nonprofit organization. The results indicate several critical gaps, such as a lack of rewards differentiation for high performance, concerns with the current “rating-less evaluation” approach, and a lack of goal alignment within organization and between individual and organizational goals. The comprehensive improvements proposed are ensuring goal alignment, incorporating SMART KPIs (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-bound), enhancing training for managers and everyone in the organization, equipping managers and evaluators to be able to carry-out performance evaluations, applying a rating-based evaluation approach, and pay-for-performance schemes to differentiate rewards based on performance.
