Abstract

Phlebitis refers to the inflammation or irritation of the vein wall, often caused by mechanical, chemical, or bacterial factors. Mechanical phlebitis is related to the action of the peripheral intravenous catheter (PIVC), chemical phlebitis arises from infusates or medications, and bacterial phlebitis is due to contamination at the insertion site or in the intravenous solution or tubing. Catheter-associated bloodstream infections (CABSI) can significantly increase healthcare costs, with treatment costs ranging from $3,000 to $56,000 per episode and prolonged hospital stays averaging 7 to 14 days (Marsh et al., 2024). This study, titled Nursing Intervention for Incidence Phlebitis Prevention in Adult Patient: A Systematic Review, aims to identify effective interventions that can be adopted by healthcare facilities, particularly in wards, to prevent phlebitis. This article analyzes data from six databases: Scopus, PubMed, ProQuest, ScienceDirect, Google Scholar, and Web of Science, focusing on articles published between 2019 and 2025. A total of 10 articles with randomized controlled trial (RCT) designs, scoring above 70% on the JBI assessment, were selected. The results indicate that moist heat therapy significantly improved vein visibility and palpability, reduced pain during cannulation, and increased first-attempt success to 93.3%. Clinically indicated catheter removal was found to be as effective as routine 96-hour replacement for preventing phlebitis.

Abstract

This study examines #AllEyesonPapua digital campaigns as a form of connective action in digital activism that develops organically through social media. This research uses a qualitative approach with interpretive paradigms and case studies to understand how meaning, collective emotions, and digital solidarity are formed in the digital space. Using the perspective of Social Construction of Technology (KST), this study emphasizes that social media is not neutral but rather a social space full of negotiation of meaning and power. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with informants who were actively involved in #AllEyesonPapua campaign interactions in the digital space and analyzed using thematic coding techniques. The results show that #AllEyesonPapua campaigns form digital solidarity through personalized narratives, evocative visual symbols, and strong emotional resonances. Social media acts as an affective space that allows for the expression of collective emotions and the articulation of meaning broadly. The findings also reveal that this campaign faces challenges in the form of stigmatization, digital attacks, and limited access to votes from directly affected communities.

Abstract

The coal mining industry is a high-risk work sector that demands high psychological resilience from its workers, including heavy equipment mechanics. Resilience is the key ability to survive, adapt, and remain productive under extreme work pressure. This study aims to examine the influence of Person-Job Fit (PJF), Perceived Training Benefit (BEN), and Self-Efficacy (SE) on Resilience (RES), with Work Engagement (WE) as a mediating variable. This study uses a quantitative approach with convenience sampling techniques on 301 heavy equipment mechanics working in the coal mining industry. Data were collected through a questionnaire survey and analyzed using the Partial Least Squares–Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) method. The results of the study show that PJF and SE have a positive and significant direct influence on RES. In contrast, BEN does not have a direct effect on RES, but shows significant influence indirectly through WE mediation. All three independent variables—PJF, BEN, and SE—also had a significant effect on WE, which in turn increased RES. These findings confirm that WE plays an important mediating role in strengthening the relationship between individual resources and job resilience. The practical implications of these results encourage organizations to improve job suitability, training effectiveness, and employee self-confidence as strategies for building psychological resilience in challenging work environments.

Abstract

The conventional preservation process of fufu skipjack fish still relies on traditional smoking methods that depend on heat directly from combustion. These methods are less energy efficient, difficult to control in terms of temperature and time, and produce products with inconsistent quality and shelf life. This research was conducted to develop a fufu skipjack sterilization system based on an integrated retort machine with boilers and ovens supported by renewable energy and the Internet of Things (IoT). The system is designed to improve energy efficiency, process stability, and extend product life. Renewable energy is obtained from solar cells used to drive the blower in the oven, activate the solenoid valve between the boiler and the retort, and support a microcontroller-based control system. IoT technology is integrated to monitor temperature and pressure in real time, control the oven blower, and automatically set the solenoid over the internet network. The test results show that this retort system can maintain a sterilization temperature of up to 121°C stably, reduce energy consumption by up to 25% compared to conventional methods, and extend the shelf life of fufu skipjack fish by more than two times without degrading organoleptic quality. The application of renewable energy and IoT in this integrated retort machine proves its effectiveness in improving process efficiency, production reliability, and the sustainable export potential of local processed fish products.

Abstract

This study investigates how internal efficiency and external macroeconomic conditions jointly shape the profitability and shareholder value of Indonesia’s major banks under the KBMI 3 and KBMI 4 classifications during the post-COVID-19 period (2020–2024). Using a quantitative–causal explanatory design and panel data regression, the research analyzes quarterly financial and macroeconomic data from 15 publicly listed banks. Internal determinants are measured through bank size (KBMI), seasonal periods (Q1–Q4), and the CAMEL framework—Capital Adequacy Ratio (CAR), Non-Performing Loans (NPL), Good Corporate Governance (GCG), Operational Efficiency (BOPO), and Loan-to-Deposit Ratio (LDR)—while external determinants include GDP growth, inflation, unemployment rate, consumer and business confidence indices, Bank Indonesia rate, exchange rate, and COVID-19 period. The results indicate that credit quality (NPL), intermediation efficiency (LDR), seasonal periods, and bank scale (KBMI) significantly affect profitability (ROA) and quarterly earnings per share (QEPS). Externally, consumer confidence, business optimism, and employment conditions play a supporting but secondary role. Overall, the findings highlight that sustainable profitability in Indonesia’s major banks is driven primarily by internal management efficiency, prudent risk governance, bank scale, and adaptive response to macroeconomic fluctuations, providing valuable insights for regulators, investors, and policymakers in maintaining financial stability and shareholder value.

Abstract

Burns are type of injury that damage the skin which caused by exposure to heat sources that requiring comprehensive management and potentially leading to high morbidity. Limited resources and costs often encourage the use of herbal ingridients as an alternative. Ziziphus jujuba (Chinese date) has been traditionally used in Chinese medicine (TCM) for its healing property. Ziziphus jujuba contains various bioactive compounds such as flavonoids, saponins, and tannins that contribute to wound healing through their anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and regenerative mechanisms. This study aims to test the effectiveness of Ziziphus jujuba extract ointment on burn wound healing in Rattus norvegicus. Ointment preparations were made in concentrations of 10 mg/mL and 20 mg/mL, then tested physically (organoleptic, homogeneity, pH, spreadability). This study used a trueexperimental method with a post-test only control group design, involving four treatment groups, each consisting of six rats with back burns: control (K), MEBO as control positive (P1), 10 mg/mL Ziziphus jujuba extract ointment (P2), and 20 mg/mL Ziziphus jujuba extract ointment (P3). The study was conducted 21-day obervation period to evaluate wound diameter, wound healing percentage, macroscopic and microscopic assesment based on the modified Nagaoka criteria. The group treated with Ziziphus jujuba ointment 20 mg/mL (P3) achieved the best healing outcomes, chracterized by faster wound reduction, minimal adverse local and allergic reactions, and shorter healing period than those observed in the control and other treatment groups.

Abstract

The dynamic cryptocurrency market with thousands of digital assets poses significant challenges for investors in identifying investment opportunities that suit their preferences and risk profile. Conventional recommendation systems have not been optimal because they fail to accommodate the unique characteristics of digital assets such as high volatility, popularity metrics (market cap, trading volume), and current investment trends. The research developed a cryptocurrency recommendation system based on Feature-Enhanced Collaborative Filtering (FECF) and Neural Collaborative Filtering (NCF), as well as a Hybrid model that combines the two to improve the accuracy and adaptability of recommendations. Data obtained through CoinGecko's API (top 1,000 projects) includes market, social, and asset category metrics. The system development follows the Agile-Scrum and CRISP-DM methodologies, with PyTorch (NCF model) and FastAPI-Laravel (API/web application) technologies. Evaluation using the Precision, Recall, NDCG, and Hit Ratio metrics showed that the Hybrid model excelled in providing relevant personalized recommendations (NDCG@10: 0.3557), while FECF was more effective in handling cold-start problems (Hit Ratio: 63.73%) and data sparsity (98.77%). This system provides practical contributions for investors in decision-making and methodological contributions to the development of a blockchain-based digital asset recommendation system

Abstract

This study develops and tests a conceptual model of fintech information systems services adoption for impact and transformation workers in vocational context in Indonesia. Through a mixed-method approach with 618 respondents, the study identified complex interactions between individual characteristics, organizational factors, and barriers to adoption, as well as their effects on system quality and adoption impacts. The results showed that individual characteristics were the strongest determinants (β = 0.684) of fintech adoption, followed by organizational factors (β = 0.572) and barriers to adoption (β = -0.428). System quality (β = 0.745) acts as the main mediator, influencing the level of use that impacts four dimensions: individual (β = 0.682), organizational (β = 0.624), process (β = 0.594), and technological (β = 0.568). This model offers a comprehensive framework for understanding and managing fintech adoption in a vocational environment, with significant implications for practitioners, organizations, and policymakers.
