Abstract

The background of this research lies in a deep understanding of power dynamics and the role of language in the context of corporate communication practices. In a dynamic business environment, the use of language is not only a communication tool, but also an instrument of power that influences organizational culture, external communication strategies, and communicative interactions within the organization. The aim of this research is to deconstruct power dynamics and analyze the role of language in corporate communication practices. The research method used is descriptive qualitative analysis by collecting and reviewing various literature sources, including journals, articles and books that are relevant to this research topic. Data were collected through literature searches from academic databases and online libraries, as well as using relevant inclusion criteria to select the most relevant and quality sources. The research results show that language plays a crucial role in shaping organizational culture, external communication strategies, and power dynamics within organizations. Using appropriate language can strengthen a desired organizational culture, build sustainable relationships with external stakeholders, and influence public perception of a company's brand and reputation. However, it needs to be recognized that language can also be a tool of power used to maintain hierarchies, suppress free speech, or manipulate public opinion.

Abstract

The waste production is expected to continue to increase every year in proportion to the increasing population of Manado City. The influential role of women when combined with waste problems ranging from preventing waste generation to processing it is considered capable of realizing the SDGs points mentioned above. The purpose of this study is to analyze the leadership style of female culinary entrepreneurs in Manado City, to analyze waste management regulations, especially culinary waste in Manado City, and to formulate a food waste management model through the leadership of female culinary entrepreneurs in Manado City . The results of the study show that the leadership style of women in some female entrepreneurs is responsible, always directing, thinking with a cool head, fair, always discussing problems faced by employees, wise, firm, trying to give employees motivation and examples (becoming a role model). Progress in waste management is in the form of decentralized waste management, in which waste management is separated for each sub-district, so there are 11 sub-districts. In its management, it still prioritizes the 3R principles (Reduce-Reuse-Recycle). Strategies that can be carried out to make residents participate in waste management are forced waste sorting programs, improving quality or increasing the number of 3R TPSTs with good management, simple composting programs at business locations or household locations and realizing socialization programs to culinary entrepreneurs that in order to be able to run a business, if it violates it, sanctions can be given or its business license revoked.

Abstract

Every parent wants good things to happen to their child, one of which is for their child to have a bright future. Therefore, it is important for parents and children to have a relationship that is built on healthy and effective communication. However, communication barriers often occur between parents and children which are influenced by several factors such as experience and age. Interpersonal communication is a form of communication that occurs directly between individuals in face-to-face conditions, this also includes interactions within the family, such as parents and children. Nowadays, in order to get the best education, children will go abroad and away from their parents. This will then reduce communication that occur between them and their parents. Many Ciputra University students come from various cities spread throughout Indonesia, not infrequently they also have brilliant achievement. In this study, researchers are interested in examining the role of family communication patterns in increasing learning motivation and achievement in Ciputra University students, especially those who are migrating and have distance barriers in communicating with parent.

Abstract

Molluscum contagiosum (MC) is a viral infectious disease caused by the Molluscum Contagiosum Virus (MCV). There are four subtypes of MCV (MCV-1, MCV-2, MCV-3, and MCV-4). The worldwide incidence of MK infection is estimated to be around 2% to 8%, while in the HIV/AIDS population, it is approximately 5% to 18%. To date, there is limited research reporting on the profile of MC patients in Indonesia. This is a descriptive cross-sectional research design. Data were obtained retrospectively and collected from the medical records of patients with molluscum contagiosum who visited the Dermatology and Venereology Polyclinic at Prof. I.G.N.G. Ngoerah General Hospital in Denpasar, Bali, from January 2018 to December 2020. In this study of molluscum contagiosum infection at the Dermatology and Venereology Polyclinic of Sanglah General Hospital in Denpasar, Bali, during the period of January 2018 to December 2020, the majority of participants were aged between 18-44 years (61.1%) and were male (61.1%). Most participants were from Bali (77.8%) and were married (55.6%). Moreover, the majority of participants were sexually active (77.8%) and had a negative HIV status (55.6%). Concerning sexual orientation, most participants identified as heterosexual (83.3%). Regarding the type of therapy received, most participants underwent enucleation (55.5%) and combination therapy (22.2%). Broad public education, especially for parents, regarding molluscum contagiosum should be enhanced to support more effective healthcare efforts encompassing treatment, prevention, and health promotion.

Abstract

Tuberculosis (TB) poses a grave threat to those afflicted, contributing significantly to the global mortality rate. Caused by the infectious bacterium Mycobacterium tuberculosis, TB primarily targets the lungs, with Indonesia ranking second in its prevalence worldwide. This study aims to scrutinize factors associated with TB treatment discontinuation within the Subulussalam City Health Service Work Area in 2023, employing a quantitative, cross-sectional approach. A sample of 203 TB patients under treatment within the area was subjected to logistic regression and multiple logistic regression analyses. Findings revealed a correlation between treatment discontinuation and factors such as inadequate knowledge (p = 0.00; OR = 27.81) and adverse drug reactions (p = 0.02; OR = 13.05). Recommendations include enhancing patient education on TB risks to bolster awareness and deter treatment abandonment, instituting recognition programs within health centers to incentivize treatment completion, and acknowledging the proactive role of healthcare personnel in facilitating patient adherence.
