Abstract

The Galunggung feeder has a total line length of 10.68 kilometers and is supplied by power transformer number 1 at the Polehan substation, with a capacity of 30 MVA. As of December 2020, the peak load on the Galunggung feeder was recorded at 231.4 A, while the lowest load was 133.9 A. Up to the current condition, the Galunggung feeder is operating within standard parameters, with a voltage drop of 0.434 kV or 2.17%. However, it is possible that with future developments and an increase in the number of customers over the years, the energy demand will also increase. Due to this additional energy demand, the protection system may require adjustments to accommodate the increased load.After conducting load forecasting using simple linear regression, a forecast for the next 10 years was obtained. In the year 2030, it is anticipated that the Galunggung feeder will experience a 24% increase in load. With this load increase and no changes to transformers or conductors, there will be no alterations to impedance and short-circuit current calculations. Therefore, no protection setting adjustments are necessary. The recommended action would be to upgrade some transformers that are approaching their capacity limits.

Abstract

The electrical network system is the process of distributing electrical energy from power plants to end-users through distribution networks and substations. The distribution network's primary function is to reduce high-voltage electricity, typically from 150 kV to 20 kV, while substations further lower it to a low voltage of 220 VAC for consumer use. However, over time, supporting equipment such as panels, cables, and transformers in the electrical network system can experience a decrease in quality, with a potential decline of up to 20% over 10 years. This degradation is due to various factors, necessitating the installation of protective measures and routine or annual maintenance to prevent potential risks. To maintain equipment quality, maintenance activities include cleaning, testing protection devices, and coordination between substations and workers. These measures are essential for the efficient operation and the successful distribution of electricity. This study evaluates the reliability of equipment at substation panel P50, with test results indicating insulation resistance values of 64,500 MΩ, 73,600 MΩ, and 87,100 MΩ, as well as a delta time of 0.7 ms. The test results indicate that the equipment's reliability is still classified as good, in compliance with the Puil 2000 and IEC 62271-100 standards.

Abstract

Onthok yuyu is a traditional cake included in the dry cake category and is made from sticky rice flour. Onthok yuyu is also known as Onthok worm, this is because the shape of the cake resembles a mound dug up by worms or yuyu (Javanese: crab). The traditional Onthok yuyu cake outside Java is more often known as coconut root cake, because its shape resembles the roots of a coconut tree piled up on the ground. The forming process is carried out before the dry cake processing process, usually the raw material is flour mixed with liquid (water, butter) etc. to become a dough. Forming is done on the dough, then processing is carried out by frying or baking. The process of forming or molding food products on an industrial scale can be done using extrusion or molding processes. If an elongated product is desired, the forming process is extrusion, namely using an extruder machine by installing output holes whose shape and size are adjusted to the cross-section of the desired food product. If a certain shape is desired, the dough is extruded and then continued with forming or molding. Basically, molding can be done carried out by two methods. Efforts to empower Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) require an empowerment model that includes improving existing MSMEs so that they are more advanced so they can strictly competent in free market competition.

Abstract

Single phase induction motors are one of the most frequently used types of motors because of their economical, sturdy, simple and easy maintenance advantages. One application is for electric vehicles. When single phase induction motors are applied to electric vehicles there are problems related to torque regulation based on vehicle operating conditions where when operating on light road conditions the torque produced by the motor remains high. In this research, a single-phase induction motor was made to have the same proportion of torque produced by the main coil and auxiliary coil or a 1kW 1000 rpm symmetrical two-phase induction motor. The type of winding applied to the stator is divided screws with the main and auxiliary coils each occupying 18 stator slots, 45 conductors per slots,, with a conductor diameter of 1.2 mm. As a phase shifter at start and operation so that they differ by 90°, a capacitance of 505.51 µF is used. As a result of the winding modification, the induction motor parameter values ​​for each stator winding are the same. So the starting torque of the main and auxiliary coils is 3.89 Nm and 3.88 Nm respectively and the nominal torque produced by the main and auxiliary coils is 4.28 Nm and 4.29 Nm respectively.

Abstract

The central government has established the National Energy Policy (KEN) to increase the utilization of renewable energy sources (EBT) by around 23% by 2025 and 31% by 2050. In an effort to support the government's program, researchers have developed a Thermoelectric Generator (TEG) as an alternative power supply to replace the energy source from PT PLN for electrical equipment used in the green bean germination process such as lights, fans, and water pumps. This prototype consists of two chambers: a combustion chamber that generates electrical energy and a control room for the germination process. These two areas are separated to ensure that the control device and germination process are not affected by the heat from combustion. The main components of this prototype include ten TEG units with a maximum power of 5.2 W, a 33 Ah battery, an 8A Buck-boost converter, a 3A Buck converter, a 6W Full Spectrum LED, four DC fans, and a DC pump. The TEG functions effectively as the germination process proceeds smoothly.

Abstract

Knee joint fractures caused after surgery or other activities that cause knee dysfunction require a rehabilitation process. Knee dysfunction means the knee joint cannot be bent/moved at the desired angle. Because the function of the knee is so important in relation to human activities, it is necessary to immediately carry out rehabilitation measures for a perfect return. Rehabilitation in this case can be done with weight training. In this research, loading for rehabilitation will be designed using load cell-based electronic engineering for the desired load, because the equipment used so far works manually.The research began with inventorying component requirements, designing the circuit, compiling a process algorithm, functional testing, calibration and data collection. The research data is a function of weight on movement, in this case motorbikes. The output of the research is a control circuit prototype to regulate load-based motor movement.The equipment specifications are produced with a loading capacity limit of 5 kg with a change step of 250 grams.

Abstract

The use of electrical energy plays a vital role in supporting the continuity of production processes in industrial environments. One critical area that heavily relies on electrical power supply is in the planning of installing a capacitor bank with a detuned reactor. The primary objective of this planning is to enhance the power factor (cos φ) from 60% to 85.2% during full-load operations and up to 94% when operating as per demand simulations. The evaluation of power quality from the implementation of the Capacitor with Detuned Reactor is conducted through simulations using ETAP 12.6.0 software.The simulation results from ETAP 12.6.0 produce comparative graphs between buses equipped with the Capacitor with Detuned Reactor and buses without it, both during full-load operational conditions and when only operating in simulations. The information derived from the simulation provides a deeper insight into the impact of installing the capacitor with detuned reactor on power factor and power quality within this industrial environment. With this understanding, further steps can be taken to optimize the electrical power system within the industrial setting.

Abstract

One fundamental energy needed for many aspects of daily living is electricity. Most commonly known application of electricity is in the Megaluh Village lobster pond. Due to the fact that air is essential to lobster life, an aerator must be used. Due to the distance between the farmer's residence and other issues, the aerator needs to be operated every 24 hours. The goal of this project is to build an automatic feeder based on ESP32 and a solar plant as a substitute energy source. The experiment's findings indicate that on day two, the solar panel reached its maximum efficiency of 55,74W. On the fifth day, though, the average daily was only around 41,07 W. In relation to the battery life indicator, it is around 12,72V and 2,96A. Furthermore, the battery's output voltage on the last day was 12.03 V and its resistance was 2,64A. Additionally, the average for the inverter's output over five days is 230,5V and 0.13A. The results of the optimal angle servo were 47° because provided according to the required weight, which was 10 grammes. When using a digital timing device, a load cell can achieve a 99% accuracy rate.

Abstract

Photovoltaic (PV) panels play a pivotal role in converting solar radiation into electrical energy. The efficiency of PV panels is susceptible to the impact of shadows and accumulated dirt on the panel surfaces. This research aims to establish a correlation between the level of dirt accumulation and the resultant power generation. The methodology employed involves a comparative analysis of power output from PV panels under clean and dusty conditions. To quantify the increase in dust over a 3-day data collection period, a glass surface was exposed outdoors to collect dust, serving as a reference for comparison with the PV panel surface. The glass, containing accumulated dust, was then subjected to data retrieval using an LED as a light source. A light intensity sensor (BH1750) was employed to measure the decrease in light intensity as dust coverage increased on the glass surface over time.The results of the PV fouling test, utilizing 10 grams of dust, indicate a relatively stable voltage generation with only a 0.8-volt loss. In contrast, the current generated experienced losses of 0.28 amperes before and after fouling. These losses significantly impact the overall power generation capacity of the PV panel. This research sheds light on the importance of mitigating dust accumulation on PV surfaces to optimize and sustain efficient solar energy conversion.

Abstract

The refinery process in PT. X relies on several supporting units, including the air dryer in the utilities section, which is essential for removing water content from compressed air to support refinery operations. This research aimed to analyze the performance of the Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) system in the air dryer units (A, B, C, and D), each comprising two towers that can operate alternately or simultaneously. The conventional TM series controller was replaced with a Schneider Electric Modicon M340 PLC to enhance system reliability and digitization. A methodical approach was adopted, beginning with data collection from sensors connected to the PLC, followed by processing the data using predefined logic instructions. The research findings indicated significant improvements in operational efficiency, response time, and energy consumption with the PLC system compared to the TM series. The PLC system also facilitated continuous and precise control of the drying and regeneration processes. These findings underscore the importance of adopting advanced PLC systems to ensure higher operational efficiency and reliability in industrial applications. Consequently, this research advocates for the comprehensive upgrade of conventional control systems to PLCs in similar industrial settings.
